Early MDK K-Line Trains diesels from the 1980s and ‘90s like their MP15, S2 switcher, and these ALCO FAs are generally great bargains. With twin can motors they are smooth runners, good pullers, and feature adequate details for bargain locomotives.

But, they have one consistent flaw. When running forward, they like to derail on curves.

My previous solution was to run the diesels backwards - cab forward on the switchers, and dummy first on the FAs.

But, I recently stumbled onto a permanent fix for these locomotives that I will share with you. It requires less than $2 in parts - and it’s so easy, I bet I can complete the repair in 10 minutes or less!
