Hi, I'm Reika Nishino from Japan and I'm a Ura Senkei Chado certified tea maker.
When I was in high school I got a chance to meet Sen Genshitsu who is the 15th and the former
head of Ura Senkei Chado Japanese tea ceremony. I was so impressed by his attitude and goal
which is peacefulness through a bowl of tea. He said then I'll invite you to the
chado seminar in Hawaii so you can try chado. That's the moment my tea journey started.
Chado means Japanese tea ceremony. Cha means tea and do means the way. After World War II
the chado is considered as a part of training for women to become a good wife or good mother.
This is a good way to learn traditional Japanese culture. I think that being a matcha expert is a
good decision for me because now I can wear kimono like this and also I can make a delicious matcha
and introduce to everyone like this. Arigatou gozaimashita.
