A Hidden Japanese Craft | “Akari Sencha” Teacups by GohoKiln 🍵
This time, we visited Gohogama, located in Takiro, Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, and had the opportunity to see the craftsmanship behind the “Akari Sencha” teacups of Takiro ware.
These delicate teacups have a soft, gentle expression, as if illuminated from within.
“Akari Sencha” is a special piece, created over the course of three years by Takuya Matsubara, the sixth-generation head of Gohogama.
Each piece is born through a process of dedication and refinement, as the artisan works closely with the clay, embodying the skill and spirit of Japanese craftsmanship.
We hope this video gives you a glimpse into the stories behind these pieces and the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship.
