NYPD Arrests Man After Officers Hurt in Snowball Assault
The New York City Police Department (NYPD) said it arrested a 27-year-old man after officers were hit with snow and ice during a large gathering at Washington Square Park amid a winter blizzard.
In a statement posted Thursday on X, the department said, “This morning, the NYPD arrested Gusmane Coulibaly, 27 years old, for assaulting our officers earlier this week in Washington Square Park. Mr. Coulibaly was previously arrested less than three weeks ago for an attempted robbery in the transit system.”
Police had earlier issued a notice seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects.
