President Donald Trump announces that the United States is accepting 1 million barrels of Venezuelan oil, promising prices will plummet, and touting rising consumer confidence as he campaigns in Texas with one week left before the midterms.
An ally of former Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro has fled to the United States. This comes shortly after Brazil’s Supreme Court ordered his passport to be canceled and seized.
Federal agents searched a Beverly Hills mansion as part of the investigation into former Congressman Eric Swalwell. The home belongs to one of his former biggest supporters, billionaire Stephen Cloobeck, who donated thousands of dollars to Swalwell’s congressional campaigns since 2017.
Welcome to NTD Evening News.
Our top story tonight, President Trump says one million
barrels of Venezuelan oil are arriving
in the U.S. President says billions more are on the way.
He's calling it the start of an economic boom for both countries.
The FBI searches the Beverly
Hills mansion of Eric Swalwell's former supporter.
The search comes as investigations into sexual
misconduct allegations against
the former congressman continue. An ally, a former
Brazilian presidential candidate,
Flavio Bolsonaro, says he's fleeing to the U.S.
This shortly after Brazil's Supreme Court ordered
his passport to be canceled and seized.

Arlene Richards has more on how it all works. And a soccer star

with Chinese endorsements. Dave Martin has the
report. This is NTD Evening News,
live from our global headquarters
in New York City.
Here's Kerry Dunst. Good evening and thank you for joining us tonight.
President Trump announcing
that a major oil shipment from Venezuela is arriving in Texas.
It comes as a partial Russia-Ukraine
ceasefire brokered by First Lady Melania Trump now takes effect.
NTD's Washington correspondent
Jack Bradley now joins us live.
Jack, what's the president saying? Well, Kerry, speaking at a
midterm rally in Texas today,
President Trump announced that a ship carrying one million
barrels of Venezuelan oil has arrived in the U.S. and it
was right outside where he was speaking in
Corpus Christi. Now, one million barrels
is not a lot considering the daily consumption in the U.S.
is about 20 million barrels.
But the president says that this is the beginning of an economic
boom for both the U.S. and Venezuela,
with many more barrels to come. Take a look.
See that little ship out there?
It's got one million barrels of oil on it from Venezuela.
It'll be refined right here in Texas,
including right here in Corpus Christi.
Now, the president says that this particular shipment
was a gift from Venezuela with no charge to American taxpayers.
Earlier today, the president wrote on Truth Social
that the U.S. is receiving this oil, quote,
as a result of our highly successful military operation,
followed by the biggest oil deal in the history of the world.
This is just the first shipment of billions of barrels to come.
This follows the U.S. capture
of former Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro earlier this year,
after which the U.S. sanctions were removed
and a U.S.-Venezuela oil deal was reached.
Now the U.S. is the largest importer of Venezuelan oil.
Overnight, that put China from being the largest importer
of sanctioned Venezuelan oil to now one of the smallest.
Meanwhile, President Trump commenting on America's consumer confidence
rising to 7.5 percent in October to a total of nearly 92 percent.
Now, the Consumer Confidence Index measures
how Americans feel about the economy.
Here's the president.
Consumer confidence report just came out.
It's a consumer confidence report just came out.
it's up at a record number
a record increase 7.5 percent just came out Steve so that's a great
that's a great number you don't see
that happen very often not to that extent. Meanwhile the
temporary ceasefire between Russia
and Ukraine in the Ukrainian city of Oleshky has taken effect
today. First Lady Melania Trump secured that ceasefire last week
and that was just two days
ahead of schedule now to help that the many elderly civilians get food
and medicine to the
area. And that ceasefire has expanded beyond just
the city to include parts of the region that
allows for the safe passage of humanitarian convoys.
Kerry. All right. Thank you, Jack.
Former Brazilian presidential candidate Flavio
Bolsonaro hastily fleeing the country today,
shortly after Brazil's Supreme Court ordered
his passport to be canceled and seized. And
NTD's international correspondent,
Ariane Pasdar, has the latest from Brazil.
A right-leaning Brazilian senator confirms that former presidential
candidate Flavio Bolsonaro is fleeing to the United States.
Now, this comes after the country's Supreme Court
on Monday ordered his passports to be seized and canceled.
Brazilian lawmakers say Supreme Court Justice Alexandre
de Moraes signed the order to seize Bolsonaro's passports
just seven minutes after incumbent left-leaning Lula
da Silva won the election.
It does seem at the moment that there is merit to the criticism
that the judiciary branch could be weaponized.
Marcos Schottges is the editor-in-chief with the Epoch Times Brazil.
Flávio Bolsonaro is being investigated
for alleged ties to Daniel Volcaro,
the head of the Master Bank,
which is at the center
of Brazil's largest corruption scandal in recent years.
But people on the political left,
such as Justice Alexandre de Moraes, for example,
had strong ties to Volcaro as well.
However, many of them are not being investigated.
It's because accusations are very broad
and they go into multiple political camps.
But right after the elections, a lot of moves have been made
when it comes to Flávio and when it comes to conservatives.
And some of those measures could have been taken before the elections.
So that's why you see a lot of conservatives right now
accusing the judiciary branch of weaponization.
After the results came out, Flávio said he'd contest
the election outcome due to numerous irregularities.
But it doesn't seem like Bolsonaro's camp is still trying to do that.
There's basically a zero chance that this will be nullified,
and Flávio and his allies seem to have said so themselves.
There was no foreign support,
despite the fact that Trump said the election looked rigged to him.
He did not back Flávio in his claims explicitly.
Flávio's party, the Liberal Party, has already conceded.
It's not exactly clear how Flávio planned to flee the country.
Some news reports say he went into Argentina on foot,
where he then planned to take a private jet to the United States.
However, those news reports are not confirmed.
Aryan Pastar, NTD News.
And NTD reached out to the State Department
to get more information on Bolsonaro's case.
The department tells us that the Trump administration, quote,
will issue visas to Flavio Bolsonaro and his family
and allow them entry into the United States.
And Flavio Bolsonaro reportedly plans
to give a presser in D.C. tomorrow.
Next, federal agents searched a Beverly Hills mansion as part
of the investigation into former Congressman Eric Swalwell.
The home belongs to billionaire donor Stephen Klubeck,
who donated thousands of dollars
to Swalwell's congressional campaign going back to 2017.
And today's Christina Corona has the details.
The FBI is investigating former Congressman Eric Swalwell.
On Tuesday, agents searched the Beverly Hills home
of one of his former biggest supporters.
The mansion belongs to Stephen Klubeck,
the billionaire founder of Diamond Resorts International.
Klubeck donated more than $23,000 to Swalwell's congressional campaigns
and previously backed his run for California governor.
Swalwell also spent time
at Klubeck's mansion before resigning from Congress in April.
But Klubeck says he cut ties with Swalwell after multiple women accused
a former congressman of sexual misconduct, including sexual assault.
One former staffer alleged Swalwell assaulted her twice,
while another woman accused him of rape at a New York hotel in 2024.
Swalwell denies criminal wrongdoing.
The FBI has not disclosed what agents were looking for,
and the search warrant affidavit remains sealed.
Investigators also seized Swalwell's electronic devices in San Francisco
and searched his Washington home in August.
The federal investigation remains ongoing.
Reporting from the city of El Monte, Christina Corona, NTD News.
Former FBI Director James Comey is facing charges for the third time.
This time, federal prosecutors accusing Comey
of leaking sensitive national security information to a reporter.
NTD's Melina Weiskopf has more on the case.
The issue at the crux of this case stems from a 2016 article
in the New York Times titled Yahoo said to have aided
U.S. email surveillance by adapting spam filter.
The DOJ is accusing James Comey of leaking
a sensitive national security document to the newspaper
and charged him under the Espionage Act.
Prosecutors say Comey had asked his staff to speak
to the New York Times about accuracy concerns related
to a separate Reuters article, which
then they say led to the unlawful transfer of sensitive information.
Comey responded to the charges in a video post on Instagram last night.
Well, they're back again.
It would almost be funny if it weren't such
an appalling abuse of the Department of Justice,
one that we cannot become numb to.
Comey and his lawyers are taking issue with the timing of the case,
claiming that the suit should be thrown out.
The charges were filed on October 5th,
exactly 10 years after the alleged conduct.
The DOJ took this action to prevent
the statute of limitations from running out
and described the practice as widely recognized in federal court.
Now, this is the third time Comey has faced
charges under the Trump administration.
Comey has long been opposed by President Trump after he launched
an investigation into Russian
election interference in the 2016 presidential race.
The president making these comments just
three days ago. Crooked people there, you know,
they are dirty cops like Comey. Comey's a dirty
cop. As for the other two cases involving the former FBI director,
the case accusing Comey of
making false statements
and obstructing a congressional proceeding in 2020 was dismissed
in 2025 by a Virginia judge.
That judge found that the prosecutor overseeing it had not been
properly appointed, but now it's working
its way through the U.S. Court of Appeals. Another case
stems from a photo Comey posted then deleted in 2025,
depicting seashells in the sand written
8647, which federal prosecutors allege was meant
as a life-threatening post towards President Trump.
Reporting from Washington, D.C., Melina Weiskopf, NTV News.
Israeli voters showing up in record
numbers today for Israel's highly contested elections.
Exit polls now showing a dead lock
between the two main blocks with no clear winner.
NTD's Jason Perry has more. Residents in Israel
headed to the polls in record numbers on Tuesday
for the country's parliamentary elections. These
are the country's first elections since
the Hamas terrorist attack in 2023. A father whose son was
taken hostage and killed during the attack,
giving this message to voters. When you go and vote,
Think of our son as well as the many thousand others
that were killed over the last three years
and vote what they would want to see.
Wanting to see change, responsibility,
and the facts coming out that this will never happen again.
On the same day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,
who was in power during the October 7th attacks, seen casting his vote.
We cannot leave this battle in the hands
of the left and the Arab parties.
that want to bring an end to the Jewish state.
This is what's on the table.
This is what's at stake.
To secure the Jewish state,
to ensure our security, to secure our future.
Israelis vote for a party and not a candidate.
And after the elections on Tuesday,
exit polls indicate a deadlock with no clear winner.
The next step in the election process will
be for Israeli President Isaac Herzog
to select the leader of the party he believes has the best chance
to form a coalition with other parties to gain at least 61 seats,
informing that majority
coalition of parties could take weeks
or months as the parties negotiate to join the coalition.
For example, ultra-Orthodox parties have
been calling for exemptions from military service
for religious students,
which could be used in negotiations for their support. Netanyahu is
challenged by former military chief of staff,
Gadi Eisenkot, who says he's against the military
service exemption. Jason Perry, NTD News.
The Department of Justice today announcing charges
against six individuals involved
in a billion-dollar cryptocurrency scheme that targets
dating sites. NTD's Arlene Richards has more on how the scheme works.
Six individuals behind a
cryptocurrency investment fraud scheme facing charges
on Tuesday the scheme targets dating
websites and apps where victims are lured
into trusting beautiful women they're operating from
Africa but closely connected
to a Chinese transnational organization Chew Kok Wah is the
leader of that organization we have obtained material witness warrants
for 15 individuals
who are employees of Wah,
who claim that they themselves were human trafficked.
U.S. Attorney Janine Pirro believes those employees
are being held in a Madagascar jail.
She's calling on the Madagascar government to partner with the U.S.
to facilitate the transfer of the defendants, witnesses, and evidence.
Pirro is warning Americans to beware of the scheme.
The scammer creates a profile of attractive women on dating sites.
They initiate contact, they build a relationship,
and then they actually get them to invest in an NFT
or any kind of special crypto opportunity.
She says in addition to using artificial intelligence,
the operations are hiring real people to record themselves
and message the victims, which builds trust.
The video clips are repeatedly used from one target to another.
Now, once the victim's engaged,
the scammer directs the victim to a website that appears
to be a legitimate, maybe NFT marketplace or investment platform.
The victim is told to connect
or link their cryptocurrency wallet.
That action grants the scammer access over the wallet and the
money is transferred. Pirro says the scheme
is a global epidemic involving not just Southeast Asia,
but also Africa, India, and Eastern Europe.
All of them are backed continually
by Chinese transnational organizations
making as much as $40 billion a year.
In response to President Trump's efforts to make fraud a priority,
her department put together a first-of-its-kind initiative.
We restrained over now $1 billion in cryptocurrency.
We have seized over 700 fraudulent crypto investment websites,
we have seized Starlink terminals,
we've seized Telegram channels, and we have
also seized tens of thousands of devices used in these scam centers.
The department's scam center is making new partnerships,
including recently with OpenAI.
Pirro gives one last warning.
Never connect your cryptocurrency wallet
to a website recommended by someone that you met online.
Arlene Richards, NTD News.
Coming up, President Trump making back-to-back stops in Texas today.
He's urging Texans to get out the vote.
NTD's Fiona Gee is on the ground to hear from voters themselves.
And Bruce Blakeman making his case
to become New York's next governor with Election Day nearing.
he's taking aim at congestion pricing,
and he's challenging how the state spends its money.

Welcome back to NTD Evening News. I'm Carrie Dunst.
Texans share their enthusiasm for President Trump with NTD's Fiona Gee,
who is on the ground at a rally in Corpus Christi.
Have a look.
We are Trump supporters, and it's a great thing to do.
Make America great again.
I support my president.
I don't care what party they are in.
But when you're the president, you deserve respect and support.
Best president ever.
Why is he the best president ever?
His policies, he closed the border.
That's exactly why I voted for him, and he's doing exactly what I want.
And you're just like wow pumped up in the last rally
I was dancing out of it in the dance of Trump's dance
and you know if you just get pumped up
We're super excited to see Trump. Also.
We've seen him before but you can never see him enough
You know,
we want to keep our freedoms want to keep our rights, you know
You know, I just support everything Trump supports
and I think he's doing a great job in office
He just really appreciates the American people that support him
and he shows it and he's he's just working really hard
hard. I support President Trump
because I know that he loves this country and he's fighting for
every single one of us. And rally goers say they support the president
because they've seen real
changes in their lives from his policies.
I grew up on the border and what was has been going on
there in the last six years,
five years was horrible until he came back and shut it down.
Really very honorable to see that, that our president
in the highest office recognizes and honors our veterans.
He's helped with the 401Ks, he's helped with Social Security,
and he's made America great again.
Lowering prescription prices,
that's a wonderful thing, especially for us seniors.
He's brought in so many companies that are going to build here
and bring back our industries.
and we're getting back to what America really was.
And as Election Day continues to near,
voters say Americans need to vote against socialist policies
and remember American traditions.
If you read all of him, the logic that he does is unbelievable.
He's a chess master. He has ahead of everyone.
You know, the oil deals, if you really look and study, it's amazing.
I believe he's protecting our country.
People are complaining about the war,
but we can't allow them to have a nuclear weapon.
Take, for instance, my Social Security.
If they take half of that and give it to somebody else
because they don't want to work,
and I worked my butt off for 40 years,
how about I take half of your paycheck and give it to me?
And you have to live on half of that to pay all
your bills, your gas, and all that.
Since I was little, my dad would say, let's go vote,
and Democrats just go all the way down, Democrats.
And so many years, I'm 72, and nothing had changed for me.
I'm still the same, but this president is doing the right thing.
All you have to do is take a look at the history books
and see what socialism and communism has done in the past,
and even currently in some of those countries.
And so if you even look back,
and if our kids got history lessons on those,
then maybe they would see that that is not the way we want to go.
They're just looking for free, free, free, and nothing in life is free.
You might get the free groceries,
but you're going to give up a lot to get those things.
Look at the countries that have tried to do that, and it hasn't worked.
It's not going to work here in America either.
I'm a Texan by choice, and an American by choice,
So I certainly want to protect what we have.
People who always had it don't appreciate it.
Why do you think it's so important to protect these American values?
Because that's what our country was founded on.
And it's worked for 250 years.
If it's not broke, don't fix it.
And in New York, affordability is a key issue in the race for governor.
Republican candidate Bruce Blakeman is promising
to end New York City's congestion pricing if he gets elected.
And he says that the state needs to do more for New Yorkers.
with the money that it collects from them.
And it is Niku Bani who reports.
New York is one of the most expensive states to live in.
Now Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman
vowing to end New York City's congestion pricing,
saying it reflects a broader problem of rising costs
and taxes for the middle class.
The congestion fee charges drivers $9
to enter busy parts of Manhattan during peak hours.
It aims to reduce traffic
and raise money for New York City's aging public transit system.
The toll generated $550 million in net revenue in its first year.
Blakeman in his bid for governor calling it an unfair tax on drivers.
The way to get people back using public transportation
is not congestion pricing,
is not a tax on the middle class,
but the way to do it is have cleaner subways,
have our subways run on time, cleaner trains,
have more conductors, more police officers
and cleaner stations. That's what people want and safer stations.
New York is also one of the
highest taxed states in the country.
We don't have a revenue problem. We've got a spending problem
and we're not spending the money on New Yorkers.
Blakeman also criticizing the nearly 10 billion
spent on services for illegal immigrants since 2023.
We will no longer be a sanctuary state
once I become governor. I will not spend money on people
who aren't New Yorkers. We will reinvest
in our infrastructure here in New York State.
We will invest in New Yorkers. Meanwhile Governor
Kathy Hochul in her bid for re-election touting
a four billion dollar milestone for New York's
legal cannabis market.
New York voters choose their next governor next Tuesday.
Niko Bani, NTD News, New York.

Welcome back to NTD Evening News. I'm Cary Dunst.
multiple sources are reporting Flavio Bolsonaro
has fled Brazil after contesting the election
results from Sunday. Joining us now to discuss is Marcos Schottkass.
He's editor-in-chief of
the Epoch Times Brazil,
also the Latin American correspondent for the paper's U.S. edition.
We also welcome Hans von Spakovsky,
senior legal fellow at Advancing American Freedom.
He's also a member of the Board of Advisors
of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.
Marcos, thank you for joining, starting with you.
Why do you think Bolsonaro had
to leave Brazil under these circumstances?
It was reported that his passport was going to be confiscated.
Right, so one of the main criticisms right-wingers have had
in the country of the current political establishment
is that they've seen weaponization
of the justice system against right-wingers.
We had our own personal January 6th to January 8th protests,
which shared lots of similarities with the United States,
and a lot of Bolsonaro supporters,
and Bolsonaro himself, both the father and the son,
claimed there was no due process.
So, and that's also true for the process that arrested Flávio
Bolsonaro's father, Jair Bolsonaro, the former president.
Right-wingers claimed there was no due process.
So when you put it all together,
and you see what happened right after the elections,
first, you saw Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes,
who was previously sanctioned by the U.S. for human rights violations,
Even though the sanctions were removed amid a diplomatic back
and forth, this very same justice,
which led the prosecution against Jair Bolsonaro,
Flavio Bolsonaro's father, first ordered Flavio to turn
in his passport, then eventually canceled his passport.
Then you had also investigations being opened by another Supreme Court
justice aligned with Lula about the elections and U.S. interference.
When you put it all together, you can see why, from the perspective
of conservatives locally, they would feel political persecution.
And I think that's why he felt it was better for him
to leave the country, lest he end up like his father,
locked up in a process he believes was unfair.
And Hans, based on everything Marcos just shared there,
did Bolsonaro have any other legal opportunities to remain in Brazil?
Or do you feel that he ran out of options from a legal perspective?
Oh, I think that description of what's happening
is exactly what you expect from, frankly, a socialist Marxist
who believe in using the power of government against their opponents.
And I suspect that he realized, Bolsonaro, that if he stayed, he might
end up in jail with all kinds of false charges being made against him.
And when you have the kind of individuals you have
on their highest court, including Lula's former lawyer,
can he really expect objective justice? It doesn't seem like it.
Yeah, when we look at all of these individual points together,
it does paint quite a portrait
there. Marcos, I want to understand,
you did a very in-depth documentary about the Venezuela
situation after Maduro.
I want you to see if there are any parallels in things that unfolded
before Maduro won that election, which no one in the West recognized.
Yeah, so I just came back from reporting
on the ground in Venezuela in July, and we went
pretty in-depth into that,
talk to many families of political prisoners, talk to many sources
on the ground, and try to piece it all together.
Now, there are some parallels, and there are a number of differences.
But what I will say is that there's
a prevalent sense among right-wingers in the country that
they might be politically persecuted.
It's a very polarizing political climate.
Brazil is a very diverse country.
It's a way bigger economy than Venezuela.
It's about, I mean, a little under 10 times the number of people.
So there are very different contexts.
but there are similarities in the sense
that when we talk about the weaponization of the
justice system and then we talk about
an authoritarian path being taken you could
see why a lot of people understand that Brazil
is taking the Venezuela route like I said there's
nuance to this but it's a valid argument especially
when you talk about the weaponization of the
justice system because a core feature of Maduro's rise to power
and of Hugo Chavez his predecessor
his predecessor's rise to power,
was weaponization of the justice system.
Like I said, there's nuances, there are different justices,
but I think you see some parallels, yes.
And Hans, coming to you, does the U.S. have a role to play here,
legally or otherwise, with Brazil?
And if not, in what Marcos just shared about Venezuela,
where does China sit in all of this, in your view?
Well, as you know, China has for years,
it has resented the fact that the U.S. is the world's superpower
and has so much influence all over.
And China has been trying to displace the United States,
particularly all over South America and also in Africa.
And to the extent that they can interfere, whether it's economically
or otherwise, to help socialist Marxists get into office,
people are going to be friendly to China and who are anti-American.
And I'm afraid that they are going
to do everything they can in in that vein.
And that is a real problem. That kind of interference, frankly,
from China all over the world, but also particularly in South America.
And Marcos, to you on that same point about where China might sit.
And it looks like we did lose Marcos there.
Do you have me?
um we we do have your audio marcos
and my my question was in regards to china's role
and in in particular we see that as you explained
to us yesterday that maduro and lula before maduro
of course was was extracted to the united states had quite
a partnership as well if you could
explore that as well as china as it relates
to what we're seeing here in brazil um well when we
talk specifically about China, I hope you can hear me.
When we talk specifically about China and
Brazil, we can discuss a scenario where Chinese influence had
been growing. China became Brazil's
biggest trading partner starting in 2009.
This leverage was growing increasingly throughout the
Lula years and even through the Bolsonaro years
because the leverage was so big. When we talk
specifically about this election,
a lot was at stake because Brazil could join the shield of
the America's Alliance, which is a coalition
of countries to fight cartels in the region.
but it also projects U.S. soft and hard power,
both through influence and even through joint
military operations. So when you have something like
that happening in geopolitics, in a way,
China has had a victory
because it now has a holdout against U.S. influence in the region
that's critical to it due to a number of reasons,
but also because of critical minerals. When you
talk about rare earths, Brazil could
be an alternate provider to this critical resource,
on which China currently has a monopoly,
a monopoly essentially on processing, right?
And when you put it all together, I think in a way,
this was a victory for China geopolitically and a defeat for Trump.
Thank you for that. Even though we lost the video, we did hear that.
Hans, I want to come to you in your view.
What happens next for Bolsonaro and potentially in Brazil?
Well, I'm afraid that the government is going
to become even more authoritarian under Lula da Silva.
And I'm not sure that Bolsonaro is going to be able
to do anything safely, certainly from inside the country.
And I don't know how much influence he can have
from outside of the country.
I think that's an area where hopefully the United States
and Donald Trump in the White House will actually assist
and help him to the extent they can to try to preserve human rights
and the rule of law in Brazil.
That's hard to do from the outside, but it's possible through
not only diplomatic efforts and diplomatic pressure,
but through the trade policies that we have with Brazil.
And frankly, yeah, trade policies are important to our economy,
but preserving human rights as much
as possible in Brazil is also important.
And that's something hopefully the president will take into account.
And Hans, as we start to finish up, we're going
to be reporting shortly about the U.N. and the shouting match between
our ambassador and the Cuban delegation.
I'd like to just get your assessment as where
the socialist wing that has been in Latin America now stands,
particularly in light of this development in Brazil.
Well, look, Brazil is the largest country in South America.
So they have gained greatly there
at the same time that the power
and economy of Cuba has been sinking like a stone. Unfortunately,
the kind of socialist authoritarianism
that has controlled Cuba for so long seems to be gaining
in the United States.
You know, we see socialist candidates here basically taking over the
Democratic Party. And anyone
who thinks that's a good idea should just look at what happened
to Cuba under that kind of control
and look at the riots happening in Europe. And they should
realize just how dangerous that would be for the United States.
Well, by Tuesday, we should know
more about where the Democratic Party's chances lie.
Hans Van Spakowski and Marcus Schuckus,
thank you both for joining us. Thanks for having me.
And next, U.S. ambassador, as I was alluding
to, the U.N., Mike Waltz,
got into a shouting match with Cuba's foreign minister today on the
floor of the U.N. General Assembly.
A confrontation taking place as Waltz took to the podium to argue
against the annual resolution
which condemns the decades-long U.S. embargo against the island
nation. Have a look. Mr. President,
this individual needs to back away from this podium. He's not
going to intimidate me in the United States
of America like he tries to intimidate political
prisoners. And I'll ask everybody to go back to their delegation.
And I'm the representative of
the United States of America. Back up. Okay.
Back up, Ambassador. Back away. This isn't Havana.
I'm suspending the meeting. You're not going
to intimidate me. I'm suspending this meeting.
Do you understand who you're dealing with? This is America. Back up.
That exchange came after Waltz accused
the Cuban regime of human rights abuses,
including forced labor
and stripping private property from Cuban citizens.
In response, members of the Cuban delegation,
including Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez,
began to slam their hands on their table and yell for a point of order.
The confrontation comes as the Trump administration ramps up
a decades-long economic pressure campaign
to force political
and economic reforms on the communist-governed island.
And a program has been suspended that allowed Chinese nationals
to visit a U.S. territory without a visa.
The Department of Homeland Security cites
concerns including espionage and birth tourism.
NTD correspondent Jason Blair has more.
The Department of Homeland Security is suspending a program
that lets Chinese nationals visit a U.S. territory without a visa.
the territory is the Northern Mariana Islands
which is near Guam the visa free program is called
the Economic Vitality
and Security Travel Authorization Program it lets Chinese travelers
pre-screened by customs
and border protection to enter the islands without a visa nearly 11,000
visitors came to the islands in fiscal year 2025 according
to the Marianas Visitors Authority
The DHS says more than 3,000
of them entered through the visa free program.
Homeland Security Secretary Mark Wayne Mullins states this volume
of visa-exempt entries presents unacceptable security
and law enforcement risks.
DHS says the program could be exploited for espionage,
including intelligence gathering aimed
at sensitive U.S. defense sites in the region.
The Northern Mariana Islands sits in the western Pacific,
close to Taiwan and the Philippines.
Guam and Tinian put U.S. forces within reach of China's coast.
Retired General Charles Flynn says the region
is the front line of U.S. defenses.
America's day starts in the second island chain.
And that is part of our defensive perimeter all the way out to Guam
and the Northern Marianas,
the Marshall Islands, and CNMI.
We already are a Pacific nation.
The notice also warns that Chinese nationals have
the ability to illegally travel to Guam
aboard smuggling vessels.
DHS also points to birth tourism concerned,
where women travel to the U.S. to give birth
and secure citizenship for their children.
The notice also mentions money laundering, labor abuses,
organized crime and financial crime concerns.
A specific case involving money laundering,
labor abuses and racketeering charges against executives
at a high volume casino on the islands was mentioned.
Senator Mike Lee welcomed the move on X,
writing America is not a nursery for the CCP to steal citizenship.
The notice was signed by DHS Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen
and published on Tuesday.
the suspension takes effect Friday, October 30th.
Jason Blair, NTD News. To make hospital food
healthy, a number of hospitals are pledging to use more whole grains
and less sugary beverages
as part of the health department's initiatives.
NTD's David Lam reports. Health Secretary Robert
F. Kennedy Jr. announces this week in Michigan
that more than 250 hospitals in the nation
have promised to serve healthier food.
Our objective is to change the dietary culture in this country.
And it seems obvious that one of the first places where we ought
to change the way that food is purchased,
that health is put as a priority, is in our nation's hospitals.
With the Make Hospital Food Healthier pledge,
hospitals commit to offering healthier food to patients,
staff, and communities.
This means prioritizing whole foods,
limiting highly processed foods and sugar-sweetened beverages,
reducing refined carbohydrates, and increasing fiber-rich whole grains.
Participating hospitals include several Cleveland Clinic facilities
in Ohio, Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital in Texas,
Sanford Medical Center Fargo in North Dakota.
RFK Jr. says, quote, hospitals have a responsibility
to promote health in every part of patient care.
including the food they serve.
I am calling on every hospital in America to join them,
sign the pledge, and help make healthy food
a standard part of health care.
Corwell Health is among the hospitals that signed the pledge.
It's a badge of honor that we know
that if you do come to one of our hospitals,
you should be leaving saying, that was really good food.
We hope you don't come back to the hospital.
You stay out of the hospital,
but we hope that you enjoyed it, you got healthier.
The CDC says almost three out
of four American adults are overweight or obese,
and nearly one in three American adolescents between 12
and 17 has pre-diabetes.
RFK Jr. says hospitals that have taken
the pledge may display the badge on their websites.
David Lam, NTD News.
Now we go back to a second dose of NTD's Fiona G.
She is down in Texas covering one
of the most closely watched U.S. Senate races.
She was at President Trump's rally earlier this afternoon,
where spirits were high.
Here's her report.
It is a packed house down here in Corpus Christi
as Texans rally to see President Trump.
It's been an afternoon of cheering, sign waving and chants of USA.
Early Tuesday morning,
long lines were already forming despite heavy rain.
Rally goers told me the wait was worth it to see the president.
I'm out here. I support my country. I love President Trump.
Senator Ted Cruz and Secretary
of Commerce Howard Lutnick were in the room as well,
as the president called for Texans to vote
for Attorney General Ken Paxton for U.S. Senator.
There was a heavy focus today on oil and gas,
the president repeating his drill,
baby drill slogan and saying that Democratic nominee James Tallarico
would not be one to support the oil and gas industries.
Why are you here today?
To see Trump, the best president ever.
This final sprint is really to get out that vote.
The president's been on the road nonstop for over a week.
Well, I was so excited to hear he was coming to Corpus.
That's only an hour and a half for me,
and I always want this as a dream come true for me.
The Texas Senate race is one

Martin,
we've got
to start in
the World
Series.
It looks like Milwaukee may have Tampa on the ropes, huh?
They definitely do.
Milwaukee winning last night 10-1 to take
a nearly insurmountable 3-0 series lead.
They'll play game four tonight in Tampa Bay,
really St. Petersburg, Florida,
where Tropicana Field is.
Now, in that game last night, the Brewers set a World Series record
by scoring eight two-out runs
in the fifth inning to blow the game open,
at one point getting seven straight hits
and knocking out Rays starter Freddie Peralta,
who's really been unhittable in this postseason until last night.
Now, meanwhile, Brewers starter Robert
Gasser continued his torrid postseason
by having just one hit over six shutout innings.
He now has a 0.6 ERA in 15 innings this postseason.
So the Brewers one win away from the title.
Now, 43 times in baseball's postseason has
the team had a 3-0 series lead.
Only one time has that ever been squandered.
That was the 2004 ALCS where the Red Sox came back
from an 0-3 deficit to take the series.
So tonight, Game 4 starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
So it's pretty much, historically speaking, Kerry, it's premature.
So you're saying there's a chance?
There's about like a 2% chance, I'll say that.
So you're saying there's a chance?
There's a chance.
All right, well, let's do this again tomorrow.
We'll see what happens.
You're such a positive guy, you know?
This one's kind of an unusual sports story.
We've got one of the best soccer players of all time,
Kylian Mbappe.
He lost three endorsements today
after referring to the former Chinese Communist Party leader
and the OG of the Chinese Communist Party,
the founder, Mao Zedong, as a dictator.
How did this even come up?
It's strange.
It was such a flippant remark.
But I'll tell you,
not only did he lose all three endorsements,
all broadcasts of his games now in China
apparently are going to be gone.
He won't be appearing at all in China,
apparently, until this blows over.
So all of this was after a video posted where Mbappe says
the funniest meme he'd seen of himself
is one where his face was photoshopped onto that, quote,
some guy, I think he's a Chinese dictator.
Now, the three endorsement products were Dongpeng,
this is a beverage company,
Mengniu, a dairy company, and Milk Round, which is a cheese maker.
They all had similarly worded statements saying they oppose any words
and actions that hurt national sentiment.
Now, this is part of the meme he's talking about,
where his face is photoshopped onto Mao's face, apparently.
Now, Mbappe issued an apology saying his comment was,
quote, ill-advised.
It's very similar, actually, to Ennis' freedom a few years ago,
essentially getting out of the NBA after he wore those shoes
that were against dictatorships and stuff like that.
And don't forget Daryl Morey's comments from Houston,
which set off a brouhaha about the Houston Rockets, where he took...
Free Hong Kong.
Yeah, he took defense of Hong Kong.
LeBron James did not seem to come to Hong Kong's aid
in that particular set of circumstances.
No, he did not.
Okay, we'll leave that all there.
I don't think anybody would want
their face put on Mao Zedong in any memes.
So he rightfully, you know,
he had a guttural reaction to it, but it was ill-advised.
Yeah, I'm not sure exactly what you call him,
then, if you don't call him a dictator.
Tyrant, maybe? I'm not quite sure.
All right, let's get back to actual sports.
In the NFL, the Colts, they trade one
of the league's best offensive linemen to the Seahawks.
Quentin Nelson is a three-time All-Pro guard,
traded to the reigning Super Bowl champions
for a third-round pick in 2027
and a fifth-round draft pick in 2028.
Now, Nelson, 30 years old, one of the best guards at his position.
He's made the Pro Bowl in all eight of his seasons in the league,
eight seasons and counting.
He's also in the final season, though, of his contract.
The Colts, meanwhile, sitting at just two and five.
It maybe makes sense to get rid of him
in lieu of getting nothing in return for him,
possibly in free agency if he does sign elsewhere.
Also today, the Colts reportedly, anyway,
agreed to trade three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle
as DeForest Buckner to San Francisco also for future draft picks.
The Colts, meanwhile, they just fired their general manager last week,
so it seems they are doing a rebuild.
Might be more players heading out soon
on the NFL trade deadline, November 10,
so just two weeks away,
so expect plenty of more trades during this time here,
maybe even more from the Colts here.
We'll have to see.
And yesterday you reported on the sports equinox.
Any last thoughts on,
we're still in this planetary alignment right now.
Any other thoughts?
You know, we don't get the NFL tonight, unfortunately.
Okay.
So we still get several.
We still at least have baseball, basketball, and hockey.
All right, so we at least have those going on.
Okay.
I guess the World Series extends to Thursday,
and we have Thursday night football.
Then we could have possibly another five equinox.
And as we heard about that World Series,
you're saying there's a chance.
So the equinox may be extended.
You are going to quote me on that one, aren't you?
He's going to replay this a thousand times,
me saying there is technically a chance, Cary.
All right.
I would not bet on that, but there is technically a chance.
All right.
Well, thank you, Dave.
And that is all the time we have for tonight's evening news.
But around the clock coverage, you can always visit us at NTD.com.
For Dave Martin, I'm Cary Dunst.
Be true, kind, hold the line.
See you tomorrow.
