A Home Half Hidden, Half Floating | Topo House

Topo House, designed by Martín Dulanto Arquitecto in Cieneguilla, Peru, is a private residence that explores the relationship between architecture and landscape by dividing the house into two contrasting volumes. The lower level is partially embedded into the terrain, creating a grounded, cave-like social space defined by curved forms, heavy textures, and strong connections to the outdoors through terraces and a pool overlooking the surrounding landscape. Above it, a wooden rectangular volume appears to float, housing the private bedrooms and offering elevated views toward the nearby lagoon and hills. Through this interplay of solid and light, organic and geometric, the house minimizes its visual impact while creating a rich spatial experience shaped by movement, light, and topography.
