You ever notice how everything keeps going up?
Rents going up, streaming services are even going up.
Even your favorite burrito spot
suddenly thinks sausage should cost even extra.
But with Boost Mobile,
you and your phone bill don't have to play
the will it go up soon game.
Why?
Because Boost Mobile has unlimited talk,
text, data plan, and a price that will never go up.
In fact, it's the same price you'll pay for life.
So switch now for unlimited wireless
at a price that'll never go up at Boost Mobile.
After 30 gigabytes,
customers may experience slower speeds.
Customers will pay $25 a month,
as long as they remain active
on a Boost Mobile unlimited plan.
Moving on, basketball.
Have you seen, T,
that they are moving to certain tournaments
starting in Texas this year
that they're going to go by age group instead of class?
Because they said the reclass stuff
is doing a little too much.
They're going to go to age group in certain places.
Age base, okay.
Yeah.
I'm wrong with that,
but shout out to David West.
He had a fire video on the Robotics Week.
It's like seven minutes long.
We'll just go to the beginning of it,
but he talked some real ---- about basketball, man.
I think a lot of people need to hear this.
I can give you a gist of it.
If y'all don't want to hear him,
he talked for a long time.
Yeah, he do.
He basically was just saying that
the people who run AAU is an organization.
AAU is an organization.
So he's like,
oh, when we was growing up,
we had real coaches who had real jobs.
Yeah.
Real life.
Parents, they was doing it all for the love.
They wasn't doing it for no money or nothing,
and they was helping you build your character,
build being a man,
and then also teaching you the game of basketball.
He's like, now it's a money grab.
You got a bunch of niggas who didn't make it,
but they like,
oh, I see something in this kid.
I'll start a team for this kid.
Give him a little bread.
You know, street ----.
And they not learning the game,
not teaching them the game.
That's why we kind of behind
when it comes to the European game.
And it's true,
because of being around the game.
Playing basketball my whole entire life,
I started playing basketball when I was four.
I finished playing basketball when I was 33.
Yeah, goddamn.
Yeah, so my whole entire life was based off basketball.
I did it every day.
That's all I knew.
I learned the game from my dad,
who was a college basketball player.
Played at Missouri and Boston University.
So he was a high level basketball player.
All my brothers and sisters played basketball, everything.
So I learned the game differently than most people.
When my dad was in my life,
so you weren't able to like finesse me with anything.
You couldn't, like if I was with a coach,
my dad knew the game better than the coach.
So the coach would tell me something,
my dad would be like,
listen to the coach.
When we got home, he'd be like,
well, your coach was trying to tell you this way,
which is not wrong,
but for you to be better,
you need to do it this way.
And he's like, I'm not going against your coach,
but you just need to,
he would always teach me the game.
Now, parents don't own the game.
We're the parents, right?
It's a fact.
A lot of us, not including myself,
but a lot of us didn't hoop.
Facts.
And if we did,
a lot of our kids who,
we didn't make it far enough,
but we want our kids to go far.
We're living through our kids.
So whatever we think is right,
we're going to go with.
And now so much money,
whoever giving the most money,
we're going to go with.
And a lot of people are in single parent homes.
It's tough.
It's single parent homes.
Mom got them.
So men kind of prey on that,
like AAU people,
or I shouldn't even say AAU,
just travel team people.
Yeah.
They find a kid that got a little talent,
some size or fast or whatever.
And they see something in them,
they like,
hey ----,
I can get a $50,000 donation
from Adidas.
Cause this kid is okay.
I'm going to start a team.
Parents don't even know
that this dude just got $50,000
for a team based off of this one kid.
He ain't going to tell them.
I'm just going to give you a little bread.
I'm going to make sure your kid got enough ----.
I'm going to spend $5,000 on this kid.
But ----,
I made $50,000.
Yeah.
It's $45,000 coming with me.
I'm going to pay for a couple of tournaments.
That's real ----.
And that's being generous.
Cause a lot of times,
they'll be like,
all right,
the rest of these kids is a team.
It don't even cost ---- either.
Cause we're going to put in all the bullshit ones.
Y'all want to play this?
Y'all want to play this team?
Especially if they good.
You know,
you're getting the tournaments free
if you got good players.
Oh yeah,
if you got the premier one.
Yeah bro.
So,
I mean,
it's a money grab.
It's watered down.
And people not learning basketball.
And then when you get kids,
like being a high school coach,
when you actually get the kids,
you start seeing how much they don't know basketball.
Yeah.
Or how much they haven't been taught.
And then people get mad at you.
Cause it's like,
why they don't know this?
And it's like,
well,
I knew this ---- when I was in second grade.
That's a prime example.
I'll give you an example.
We run a flex offense.
Flex is the easiest thing in the world.
Yeah.
Everybody in the play basketball know flex.
We had kids on our team that never run flex.
I'm like,
you've been playing basketball for,
you 17.
You at least been playing basketball for 10 years.
Very minimal.
Yeah.
And you've never seen flex.
You never just screen down,
pop out and cross screen.
That's tough.
You never jumped,
like they didn't know how to jump to the ball.
Hey,
kids don't know how to go off the shoulder on the screen.
Screen.
I'm like,
yo,
on defense.
Your man passed the ball,
you jump to the ball.
Said being helped.
I'm like,
they never done that before.
And I'm like,
that's crazy.
And as a high school coach or varsity high school coach,
you're teaching that.
And it's like,
wow,
our kids are so far behind.
And then you wonder why SGA,
Giannis and all these kids are winning.
Passing.
Like,
and it's just looking crazy.
Like,
yeah.
We literally got to really think hard.
Like who has a chance as an American can win the MVP.
We got to like,
we got to really sit here and think.
Andy Edwards got a shot.
Yeah.
Outside of JT,
it was like,
boy,
he got to go get it now.
It was like,
Jalen Brown this year.
We like Jalen Brown.
But Luka performing so well.
We like,
SGA.
It ain't even close.
Jamal Murray.
All these,
it's just.
Yeah.
Ain't nobody really teaching the game no more.
And it's kind of hard for kids to find that.
I don't know that program to really go to.
Cause it's like,
see who you can trust.
Kids don't want to be taught the game.
Parents don't want to be taught the game.
Parents want to be given the easy map to get to the money.
Yeah.
Cause they feel like they go to work already all day.
Yeah.
Like,
what's the easiest road to get my son to a million dollars?
That's the road we about to take.
And at all the time,
that's cool.
Get the money,
but you don't never get better.
Yep.
And it becomes a dead end.
Yeah.
And then it's like people like me,
who think the game outside the game.
I'd be like,
wow.
I'll just look at kids and I'd be like,
wow,
you really.
Like,
I really had kids that I worked with,
or I've been on my team,
or I've helped or trained or whatever.
That will legit say like,
I'm better than you.
And be like,
dead ass serious.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
And you'd be looking at,
I'd be looking at,
I'd be like,
are you for real?
Like,
I'm better than you.
I'd be like.
No,
they mean that ----.
Yeah.
Like,
it legit.
legit.
Like,
bro.
Where your highlight tape at,
nigga?
Yeah,
like.
Yeah,
show me your clips,
nigga.
But like,
that don't be good at all.
Like,
I'd be like,
you for real?
You never were viral,
nigga.
Yeah,
I'd be like,
you for real?
Yeah.
I'm like,
you never even scored like,
20 points.
Like,
you serious?
Like,
oh,
okay.
You don't got a real,
bro.
I'm like,
but like,
they'll seriously be like,
you were like,
even like on our team now,
I had kids tell me I was sad.
Like,
you were sad in the league.
I was looking at them like,
yo,
like,
you know you're not going to make it to the NBA?
Like,
for real.
Like,
I'll have to tell them like,
yo,
you know you're not going to the NBA,
right?
They like,
what?
Like,
one kid told me,
I can get paid right now.
I said,
I mean,
they pay anybody now.
I mean,
everybody gets paid.
That's fine.
I was like,
He's just giving it out.
Yeah,
I was like,
that's cool.
Yeah.
You know you're not going to the NBA,
right?
Mentality is shot though,
bro,
but it ain't nobody really.
That's where it start,
bro.
You know you're at five,
That's where it ******* starts,
bro.
They not hooping outside,
and ain't nobody really in these gyms no more.
No,
they lie to them.
Everybody gets lied to.
Yeah.
That's the sad part about it is,
you could have one person telling you the real,
but there's so many people that's going to call to you,
agree with the dumb ---- for whatever selfish reasons.
They just lie to them.
And then when you,
by the way,
slide out,
they'd be like,
oh,
well,
on to the next one.
he had,
so he could have made it,
and niggas just sad.
That's what they're going to say.
Damn,
when we get to that point.
And then,
you know what we're going to do?
Sit here and be like,
well,
damn,
I had a boy,
that nigga.
Woo.
Damn,
boy.
I always believe in telling kids the truth.
I never lie to kids.
I ain't lying to mine.
I've never lied to a kid,
when it comes to basketball.
And I didn't lie,
I was like,
well,
he played good,
man.
It's all right.
Keep the morale high.
Cause you got to keep the vibes here.
But I never lie.
I would never lie and tell you,
like,
hey.
Cause once they leave the nest,
bro,
it's over with.
Yeah.
I would never lie to them.
Be like,
yo,
you got potential to be NBA player.
I won't,
I won't lie to you.
Cause I know what it takes.
And if you're not putting that much work,
like,
I seen a,
it was an Instagram stat,
but they was like,
Steph Curry,
shot,
500 jumpers a day.
When he was young,
whatever it was,
this might not be true,
but somebody just threw it out there.
And it was like,
it came out to like,
three million shots.
He was like,
for his life,
he hit,
how many threes he hit?
3000?
Whatever.
Whatever the 3000 threes.
But to shoot five million shots to make 3000?
You cold.
Just think about how much work you put in
just to make 3000.
If you shoot that many shots.
Yeah, bro.
Like just to get 3000,
if I shot a million shots to make 3000,
I would be like,
nigga,
I'm a fool.
I will feel,
not saying like I would do that,
but like,
kids couldn't even fathom that.
Yeah.
I gotta go shoot a million shots just to make.
That's a horrible percentage.
Cause that's way less.
I gotta go shoot a million shots to make 3000.
And you know what?
I'll pick it back on top and tell you,
they had a highlight reel going on.
They was talking about,
pick random role players
and see how good they were in high school.
Nigga,
Tim Hardwick Jr. averaged 31.
Like some of the randomest people,
they were averaging 30.
College sex.
Like people who are role players
that you may not think the highest up,
but they ain't paid.
I'm like, bro,
it's the best of the ******* best.
Shout out to Anthony Gurley,
man.
When I came to Wake Forest,
this nigga averaged 38 points a game at high school.
I was a freshman.
I was a freshman at Wake Forest.
I came in,
they said,
AG the best scorer in here.
I said,
who's AG?
I ain't know the nigga.
He was a sophomore.
I'm a freshman.
They like Anthony Gurley.
He get buckets.
He averaged 38 in high school.
Like,
damn,
38?
Mind you,
I was the best bucket getter,
but he averaged 38.
I'm like,
nigga,
38,
that's crazy.
Like,
they show Luke Kenora ----,
bro,
he averaged 40 in high school.
Come on, bro.
He had the Ohio record.
Come on, bro.
Like,
it's different, bro.
Like,
it's levels, bro.
I'm like,
I only averaged,
I think my senior averaged like 24,
23,
24.
Obviously,
Indiana,
you know,
************ hold the ball type of ----.
But like,
him averaging that many points,
and he was a bucket.
That's a fact.
I ain't gonna lie,
AG got buckets,
but,
you'd be like,
yeah.
Shit,
Austin Rivers,
nigga.
Come on, bro.
Was a freak of nature.
Yeah,
him and Luke was the best PGs in they class,
bro.
Austin Rivers was a first step guy.
He was a killer.
Come on, man.
Pat Beverly averaged 38 in high school.
Come on, bro.
Yeah.
Played four guards.
And it was bad too,
bro.
Especially like,
referee days,
you would see these,
these people who would start these programs,
quote unquote,
and teams,
and be like,
y'all don't give a **** about these kids.
It's a money grab,
bro.
The wildest ---- I ever heard from a kid,
bro.
All you gotta do is go to a tournament,
look at the coaches.
The wildest ---- I heard from a kid,
a parent,
they kid told me he was going to prep school
when I was like,
fifth grade.
So I'm going to prep school.
I was like,
all right,
good,
that's what's up.
No, I'm not hating,
go to prep school,
nigga.
Yeah.
And then another one was telling me like,
yo,
we working right now to get the OT.
I was like,
oh my God.
The disappointment.
Like,
I love OT people that are over there.
Oh yeah.
No,
that's the fam.
Yeah,
we **** OT.
my God.
should we have some other milestones
before we get there?
bro.
Like,
that's the first jump.
Do you want to know how to like,
hoop,
and make an advance pass?
That's why when they go there,
nigga,
they see,
oh,
this is for real.
It ain't even that.
That's why they,
and this is no shot at OT.
I actually like OT and all the people that work there,
but it's like a lot of those guys,
they get stars,
but a lot of them don't develop to be
really good college players.
Yeah.
Like,
it's a rare,
like,
you might get like two or three
that's become really good college players.
Yeah,
but when you get there.
Yeah,
a lot of them is like,
hype.
You know what I mean?
Like,
oh,
he can jump high.
He can do this.
He can do that.
And all that.
And then when they get to college,
they haven't developed the skillset to be
really good college players.
And,
it's not a no shot at OT.
It's just the truth.
Like,
like you said,
we've got some kids in college,
obviously,
some success stories as well,
but it's like,
y'all,
y'all not there to really do what OT is for.
It's to train,
prepare for the next situation.
You go in there thinking it's hype,
and they find out it's some dogs in there.
That's why you see so many people go there and realize,
oh,
I need to figure some ---- out
before I really get to compete here.
and they,
it's made for a serious basketball player.
Yep.
Like,
if you like,
dedicated.
That's what it's for.
Yeah,
like,
my whole dream is to make it to the NBA,
but I'm so dedicated.
I'm about to put it,
because it's,
it's a workout.
Yeah.
That's all it is.
You're there to work out.
Like,
the games,
you play the same teams over and over.
Yeah.
So you're going to know the players,
blah,
blah.
But it's there to train.
You get to train with professionals.
Preparation.
You get in this mindset to prepare myself
for the next level.
And a lot of kids,
that ain't what they want to do.
Like,
kids don't want to work out every day.
Like,
playing basketball was something that we wanted to do.
Like,
right now,
and this is dead ass serious.
Like,
we have probably one of the craziest coaching staffs
you can ever have.
That's a fact.
At every level,
we had somebody who was very successful at that level.
From the D2,
Juco,
NBA,
whatever,
overseas.
Overseas, yeah.
We got somebody who was successful out there,
and that was the whole point of building our staff,
how we built it.
You think we work kids out?
On a daily,
like,
daily basis,
do they ask us questions?
Yeah.
That's never a foreign concept to this age group.
We sound like old heads.
That's wild too.
That ain't even what they on.
For real,
like,
it's probably one kid that probably ever hit me.
It's two kids that hit me the whole time.
I've been coaching for three years,
and it's two kids that ever wrote,
text me and was like,
okay,
three.
And was like,
can we work out?
Now,
mind you,
we done had,
60 kids.
Easily.
Yeah.
More than that,
man.
Yeah.
And it's been three that ever asked me,
can we work out?
Can we do this?
That's it.
It was funny,
because Lou was talking about this.
He was just like,
with them playing so many AAU games,
like,
even high school,
they don't even see the same magnitude of it.
It's just like,
they play so many games that,
no game feels special.
Like,
them high school games,
I mean,
obviously it's a different time period,
but like,
representing your community,
your area,
that ---- meant something.
Friday night hoops,
you going to get some,
like,
that ---- meant something.
Nah,
it don't mean nothing to them.
Niggas that lose and post real.
Like,
nobody in particular,
but it's just like,
it's just different.
It's just different time periods,
bro.
Niggas that lose,
they have two points on God,
you see in them too.
Like,
a parent told me,
a parent,
yeah,
that's fine.
A parent told me,
like,
we had a great atmosphere at one of our games,
and a parent told me,
like,
our kids should be used to this.
They did this in AAU.
And I was like,
nah,
like,
they not going against,
like,
when you go to an AAU game,
nobody's cheering for nobody.
Like,
if your,
you got the parents,
the 10 parents cheering for whoever that team is,
and the other 10 parents cheering for that team,
but everybody else watching the game,
they just watching the game.
They ain't got nothing invested in it.
I was like,
a high school game,
you got 10 parents,
and you got 1,500 people against you.
I'm like,
it ain't the same vibe,
because they like,
I don't know why they nervous.
They played in this kind of crowd.
I'm like,
they never played where everybody is booing you
when you shooting a free throw.
I'm like,
it's not,
you can't replicate that,
only in college basketball.
You know what I mean?
And I'm like,
AAU is not ----.
And I'm not trying to hate on AAU,
but I'm like,
nobody prepares in AAU.
I used to coach AAU.
I've never did a scouting report in AAU.
I never said,
this guy tendency is to go left.
Like,
obviously I was a basketball player,
so after the first minute,
I could figure out where somebody like to go.
I'm like,
hey man,
he drive right.
Man,
he a hard right hand driver.
Send him left.
But we didn't go in and say.
Number 11.
He's a knockdown shooter.
Run him off the line.
Make sure that you,
da da da.
He's one,
two dribbles left,
but after that,
he's picking it up.
Man,
we can trap him off the pick and roll.
I didn't do all that in AAU.
Nobody does that.
Only Rondo,
because you know why?
Yeah.
Win or lose,
you got a game in 45 minutes.
Yeah.
Rondo,
the COB.
Yeah,
Rondo,
that's because he's a basketball crazy man.
And he,
he really invested in that.
And like,
but not a lot of people was invested in that.
And that's like,
that's what make AAU to me like kind of joke.
Like when somebody tell me,
hey,
what's your average 25 in AAU?
I'll be like,
I think I average 30,
a game in AAU.
Everybody can get that ---- off of AAU.
Come on, man.
It benefits some kids too though.
It do.
Yeah,
1,000%.
It just depends.
Some kids have better,
better runs in AAU than actual school ball.
Of course.
Most people get,
nowadays,
you probably agree with this,
get what?
Scholarships off AAU,
in high school.
That's what I got,
scholarships off of.
I mean,
people go see summer ball.
Yeah.
Because they know you might be playing
with some sad people in high school.
Might be playing with a couple of football players.
No shade of Bobby.
But like,
you might be hooping with a couple of niggas
that are not going to go play basketball for real.
So college coaches know that.
But usually in AAU,
everybody out here is about to be playing.
Yeah.
Trying to play college basketball.
So they feel like the level is higher.
But when I'm telling you,
nobody's invested that much.
Like the AAU coaches,
bro,
they on the road.
They going to tournaments one weekend.
Like y'all,
they leaving,
they bringing their kids.
On me.
Mm-hmm.
Nigga, I was an AAU coach.
Nigga, we was going to the club.
Like, ----.
That's true.
The kids asleep.
Hopefully they sleep.
Shit.
Bang.
Shit,
I don't give a ****.
I'm in Vegas.
I done spent my money.
Come out here,
I'm going to have a good time too.
Yeah.
Like, come on, man.
Money caught up in this ---- now though.
So AAU is kind of like,
going to do AAU and then we going to prep.
Yeah, facts.
Niggas don't really see no benefit in public schools.
They don't.
Yeah, man.
Baltimore.
Especially if you playing with some bums,
you just,
you ain't.
But they,
Kids automatically,
look, nigga,
I'm ranked.
You probably going to go work at Kroger,
nigga.
Or whatever.
In low key,
it's true.
But,
you,
I ain't going to lie,
the reason public school helped me so much,
cause it made me develop my game.
Like,
let's just say if I'm playing with lesser people,
but,
cause in Indiana,
like you seen tonight,
the talent is all spread around.
Like,
everybody can,
even if you not,
like,
most of our people are,
like,
under-recruited,
because we from Indiana.
Lots of facts.
A lot of us don't want to play on the same AAU teams.
We just got like a hating,
like,
we just hate each other in Indiana,
for some reason.
Yeah.
But we just got like a hating thing.
Like,
nobody likes nobody.
Whatever.
I don't know why,
but it's just us.
No, that's the vibe.
Yeah,
it's just like,
we don't rock with people just cause,
I still feel it.
Like,
I just don't like people just,
I don't even know why.
I just be like,
yeah,
I don't like that nigga.
They be like,
why you don't like him?
I'm like,
I don't know.
From,
like,
middle school or some ----.
They be like,
nigga,
what?
I don't like him.
He's playing on a team I ain't rock with,
so I don't like him.
some ---- like that.
And it's just,
that's just Indiana.
But,
like,
if you really look at it,
you get the best basketball.
Cause it's a challenge.
Like,
nobody here respects anybody.
At all.
So,
like,
if you,
if you rank top 10 in the world.
You still sad.
If you play here in Indiana,
the team going against you,
they gonna call you sad.
You weak as hell.
Nobody's scared.
Like,
nobody care.
Like,
that's just Indiana.
Like,
Eric Gordon was the number one player,
number two player in the country.
We gave no fucks.
Not at all.
Like,
nobody care.
We like,
nigga,
that nigga can't go outside.
Like,
shout out to EG,
but like,
we like,
that nigga,
daddy only let that nigga go outside.
**** that nigga.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Like,
he can't go to no party.
Nigga soft.
That's how we felt.
He get a disreputable appearance
on my life though,
but that's how we feel.
You know that's how we feel.
Like,
that nigga,
we having a party after the game.
Nigga,
he can't even go.
he soft.
That nigga can't do ----.
And this nigga the best player in the world here.
And he showed it.
He killed.
But we ain't,
we wasn't scared of him.
We like,
that nigga ain't ----.
But that's Indiana.
So you recommend kids just to stay where you at?
Work on your game,
man.
Get the main thing to main thing.
I think,
playing with people that wasn't as good
and I had to make them better.
Made me better.
Cause I learned how to do everything.
Like,
if I can make my team a winner
and we not supposed to be winners.
Like we supposed to be,
Oh,
he ain't got nobody going D1 on his team.
It's just him.
Yeah.
And all of a sudden we winning like a ************.
I feel like I did my.
And you think that translates better
when you go to college.
Yes.
Cause if I know how to do everything,
I can get on the court.
If I'm only good at one thing,
if I go to a school with a bunch of talented people
and usually it's how it works in the NBA.
And when you play with a whole bunch of talented people,
you know how to do one thing.
So if they designate you like,
Hey,
you're going to be our anchor.
You shot block and get rebounds.
Or if you are a shooter,
you're going to run a lanes and you're going to shoot threes.
Right?
And you in high school doing this.
So when you get to college,
the only role you going to know is this role.
So when you get to college and they say,
Hey,
we need a lockdown defender who need to rebound and do this.
And you ain't never been in that position
where I got to go rebound, push the ball,
do all types of ---- that I've never done before.
And your college coach wants you to play that role.
And you ain't never did it in your life.
You might well in high school,
all I did was run the lane and shoot threes.
And we played two, three and we did.
But nigga, you ain't going to play.
Like our high school,
we had to do everything.
My senior year,
you had to guard.
You had to block out.
You had to rebound.
You had to push the ball.
You had to be on top of the press.
You had to be the back of the press.
Nigga, if you ain't get a rebound,
we lose the game.
Because nigga, you one of the taller guys.
You know ---- like that.
So when I got to Wake Forest,
they like,
I wasn't playing.
They was like,
whoever going to pick up the ball full court?
Well, ----.
That's what we had to do when I was in high school.
I had to pick up full court.
I can do that ----.
Who can score?
And y'all need me to score?
Oh, I did that in high school.
But you got to be able to rebound and steal.
We need to act.
Nigga, it's all the ---- I had to do.
Because our team sucked.
And now I'm not saying our team really sucked,
but we didn't have a bunch of five-star niggas
where I could be like,
I ain't never did that ---- before.
And you talked about this before.
You look at the Steph Curry.
You look at the Damian Lillard.
It's those guys,
CJ McCombs who were at mid-majors
who got triple-team, double-team
and still had to prevail.
Now I'm seeing ISO coverages.
Now I look like a star.
I look like a god, bro.
Yeah.
You guard me one-on-one.
I look crazy.
That's why I'm so advocate for that
because prep schools,
or you play with a whole bunch of talented people,
it make the job easy.
Yeah.
That's why I used to praise Gilbert Arenas
for how he did his son.
He had to do everything.
Yeah.
His look.
Like, he had to do everything.
He made it.
But that was crazy.
No, but it's the truth.
Now his son, when he go to college,
even though he's been hurt,
he can adapt to any situation.
Like, hey, I forgot his name, Elijah.
Yeah, Elijah.
So he's like, hey, Elijah,
we might need to play you at the four.
Yeah.
But ----, I used to get 12 rebounds a game.
Yeah, I can get the boards.
Yeah, go get the boards.
Play you at the four, man.
You can be the,
we gonna play you at the four.
You gonna be the point forward.
But you gotta rebound.
Oh, ----.
That ain't no ---- to me.
I used to rebound.
And in this situation now,
he coming back from rehab,
giving me the steps back.
Oh, I'm getting ISO coverage
to get in my game now?
Oh, man.
I'm used to playing against four niggas.
Yeah.
One person guard me.
And the most important part about this is,
for everybody,
like, at some point,
you can't run from adversity.
At some point,
you can go team up with everybody.
At some point,
you have to go figure this ---- out yourself,
and it's a life skill, bro.
The work gonna show, bro.
At some point.
That's true.
You can only hide for so long.
It's a fact, bro.
You can only hide for so long.
I don't give a ****
how many good, talented people.
You can hide all the way to the NBA.
Then you know what's gonna happen.
You're gonna be out the league.
Yeah.
In two years.
And you know what?
It's gonna be wild wave music.
Nah, and it's gonna be the worst feeling in the world.
I tell kids all the time,
not to say it this way,
it's easy to get to the league.
You can finesse your way all the way to the league.
You can sell yourself to the league.
Well, you can potential your way
all the way to the league.
But once you get there,
once you get there,
you gotta play basketball.
You could potential your way
all the way to the league.
Oh, my God.
We get him here.
Blah, blah, blah.
He going,
that ----'ll be two years.
Yeah.
And you,
think about how many people
done got drafted in two years.
Like, think about it.
The kid just got drafted and went to Baylor.
And got drafted again.
And went back to Baylor.
I hate all this.
Like, think about that.
That's why the world's fucked up, though.
Think about that.
A kid got drafted.
Because you can start over.
Think about he got drafted.
That's a wild restart.
He got drafted 31st overall
and went to Baylor.
Control all deleted it.
Because guess what?
He just wasn't ready.
Because if he was ready,
he'd be in the NBA.
He'd be in a second contract.
He'd be in the league.
That nigga sad.
That's how he's ass.
He said,
I gotta figure out another way.
Nigga went to Baylor.
Hold that thought.
Yeah, I got something better.
I got something brewing.
Hey, listen, parents.
Man, y'all kids,
they gotta figure it out at some point.
You can't hide your whole life
at some point.
You gotta put up.
Go crazy.
I didn't mean to go on a rant like that.
Damn, I done made this a real.
Nah, you talking real ----.
You need to hear this ----, bro.
That ---- just be bothering me, bro.
That ---- just weird.
Yeah, man.
We got to meet parents,
live with those kids, man.
Let these kids grow up
and be great.
Because you are not helping them
by hiding them at all.
You're teaching them how to run.
Yeah.
Them motherfuckers be like,
sitting out games.
I've never seen ----.
This ---- that I be seeing now.
Like, motherfuckers sit out AAU games
because they playing certain people.
Or like, I ain't going this time.
You've had motherfuckers sit out
on a summer game.
Duck and smoke.
Come on, man.
Motherfuckers do some crazy ----.
That's crazy.
All right, man.
There was a kid.
Listen, I'm here now.
Could y'all have me drink?
We lost.
I'm shitty.
Look, we had a kid.
Not on our team.
But two years ago,
I watched a kid.
It was a live period.
Which I mean,
college coaches can come watch you play.
And he said,
he went on a vacation with his family.
Right?
Hell of schools was coming
to watch this kid play.
He went on a vacation.
And like me,
we played him.
We played his team.
The kid didn't play.
And he was talking.
Like, I ain't going.
I ain't playing.
Like, I got my offers already.
Like, I ain't tripping.
Like, y'all,
I'm going to let my teammates play.
They need it.
Not me.
I've never been that kind of nigga.
So I'm like,
I told our kids.
I'm like,
he only think y'all good enough to play against.
You know what I mean?
I'm trying to motivate.
I'm like, yo,
we should dog these guys.
Blah, blah, blah.
But I was like,
I told his mom.
We was at one of your events.
I was like,
yo, he's not going to make it.
I was like,
y'all feeding him bullshit.
And she was like,
what that mean?
I'm like,
y'all feeding him bullshit.
He think he like bigger than he is.
Yeah.
Mind you,
all them offers left.
Yeah.
When it was time to sign.
Dundada.
When it was time to sign.
Yeah, man.
He went from power fives
and no disrespect to where he went,
but it wasn't power five,
four,
whatever it is now.
But I had told his mama to her face,
like,
that ain't,
that ain't the move.
That ain't the way to look.
Like,
whatever y'all think y'all got brewing,
it ain't really brewing.
He not like that.
And it ain't no shade,
but I'm telling you,
I've seen people his size
and do things that he can't do.
A hundred percent.
And that ---- went left real quick.
And yeah, man.
My fault, yo.
No, you good, bro.
You speaking ---- that people need to hear.
Please take advantage of opportunities
before they are gone.
And I ain't nobody.
I'm just a nigga over here,
drinking a little,
whatever.
No, that was,
that was needed,
on God.
I be tired of niggas.
As a matter of fact,
I'm done.
I'm,
I'm never talking about you sad niggas no more.
No, I'm just playing.
Get how you live, man.
