Two chances of snow this weekend draws mixed reaction from residents

With two rounds of possible snow in the weekend forecast, residents across Montgomery County and in Philadelphia are preparing for what many describe as more of a nuisance than a major winter event.
Drivers in hilly communities such as Conshohocken, Roxborough, and Manayunk say slick conditions can quickly become treacherous, especially on side streets.
PennDOT trucks were seen treating major roads Friday, but several residents expressed concern about how long it can take to reach neighborhood routes.

Let's switch now to Action News reporter Elizabeth Worthington, who's live in Conchahokan.
Elizabeth, you have more on the snow and how people are preparing for its arrival this weekend, huh?
Yeah, Rick and Shari, people who live in places like Conchahokan, Roxborough, Manioc,
they know that hilly roads like this can turn treacherous like that.
And we did see a lot of PennDOT trucks on the roads, out pre-treating the main roads,
the highways, but it's these local neighborhood routes that get people a little bit wary
about their travel throughout the weekend.
Now, like Cecily said, this is not going to be maybe a blockbuster storm,
so a lot of people we talked to said it seems like this weekend might be a lot of nuisance snowfall
more than anything else.
With two chances of snow in the forecast this weekend,
some people feel stronger about the winter weather than others.
Hate snow. It's a four-letter word in my house. Hate it, hate it, hate it.
The only day I like it is when it's a snow day for school, because I work for a school.
I'm used to it now. I'm old. I'm used to everything right now.
And people like Ed Hagen, who have to drive on the hilly streets of Roxborough and Manioc,
are also used to dealing with dicey conditions.
As far as with the snow and all, they're a little slow getting around to clear it off.
I kind of understand because you've got a lot of hills and stuff,
and sometimes the assault trucks and stuff have a hard time getting around.
Action News found PennDOT trucks pre-treating 476 with brine on Friday afternoon,
and more trucks doing the same out in Lansdale and Skipback in Montgomery County,
which might get a bit more snow than the city.
Not good. I work at a car auction in Hatfield, and it's hard to move stuff around when it's snowing out.
I see they've got brine already down on the roads.
While some are too nervous to get behind the wheel during inclement weather,
No, don't drive in the snow. That's for my husband.
others aren't losing sleep over it.
I'm pretty good in this.
I think you'll be safe in this.
Yeah, but nothing's good on ice, so you do appreciate the treatment of the roads.
Now, of course, the ask, as always from PennDOT, is when that snow is falling,
stay off the roads this weekend if you can.
We're live in Contra Hawkins tonight, Elizabeth Worthington, Channel 6 Action News.
Shari?
All right, we'll take the advice as best we can.
Elizabeth, thanks.
