Hidden Rust Cleanup - 1979 F250 Crew Cab Megazilla Build Update

Progress update on this 1979 Ford F250 crew cab build sitting on a brand new custom 4x4 chassis with a Megazilla engine swap. We're in the middle of chassis mockup and dealing with some hidden rust issues that weren't disclosed when the owner bought this truck at auction.

Ray's been working through cleaning up rust spots throughout the cab - some of which were covered up with creative methods we won't get into. We're also modifying the inner fenders to accommodate the Megazilla and give people a clear view into the engine bay since we ditched the factory hood hinges. The goal is to keep everything looking as factory as possible while making room for the bigger engine and improving functionality.

This one's getting a brand new AMD bed which saves us a ton of time versus trying to repair the original. We're welding everything up, getting fitment dialed in, and prepping as much as we can before it heads to media blasting and epoxy primer. The original tailgate is still good so we're keeping that.

Custom billet trim, mirrors, door handles, and emblems are coming for this build - stuff we're working on having available online at reasonable pricing (relative to US manufacturing costs, not China pricing). Another month or so of work and this one should be ready for the body shop.

Also gave a quick look at the 1966 F100 that's about ready for paint - dark cherry with a lot of pearl, electric Tonneau cover from Pros Pick, bucket seats. Customer saw our Merllo video (the '56 panel truck) and drove straight to the shop to have us build his '66.
