I Made a Grace Kelly Inspired Dress : Couture Sewing with Sheer Fabrics

In this video, I’m making a wedding dress inspired by the iconic gown worn by Grace Kelly in the 1956 film High Society. It’s not an exact replica, but my own interpretation of the original– focusing on the elegance, softness and timeless silhouette that made the dress so unforgettable.

This piece is made from sheer organza, which means there’s absolutely nowhere to hide. I’ll take you through my process as I construct the dress, sharing couture-style sewing techniques along the way, including French seams, my preferred method for baby hems, and tips for handling delicate fabrics.
