We Tried Most Expensive FILIPINO FOOD in London, Was It Worth It?! $200 Lechon, Chicken Inasal, Ube

Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. N. Good morning from a very sunny, beautiful London. We are here in South Kensington area. We just had a quick stop at the coffee shop. Urban Coffee. Actually, I didn't Urban Coffee. Cla had a baby Chino. George had a flat white. Um I'm keeping the camera low because our taxi driver, our Uber driver this morning said this area at the moment is incredibly bad for like phone snatching. So, we've been a bit on edge in London this trip to be honest. Um it's been absolutely fine up to now. Um and everyone's been lovely. Nice car. But like if anyone walks towards me like I did it just then, I'm like holding the camera even closer. So, sorry about this low down shot. I'll show you the view. Beautiful view. And it's coming back to me, which probably seems a bit dramatic, but you could never be too careful. I mean, we've loaded the clip for the other two vlogs so far, so we wouldn't lose any footage, but we would lose a camera, which wouldn't be very nice. >> Talking about the crime. >> So, we've come this morning to the Natural History Museum. Haven't been here in years. Um, so excited to look around. We're not going to do the whole thing today because we have got a lunch reservation at midday. We're here at open 8 at 10:00. So, we'll do what we can, but we just want to go into the dinosaurs really with Koda and like the bones and the animals and stuff cuz he loves all that. But very busy already. [music] [music] We're just walking through to the dining hall, but yeah, like I said, we got a lunch reservation somewhere, but it was really hard to get a reservation. We tried to look off a Monday at lunchtime, like midday, early lunch Monday. They had nothing um at all, all of Monday, fully. And then we found one today. We didn't really want to choose today because we're going home today, but we've managed to find a time to squeeze it in before our train back. So, it's going to be like it's quite lucky we managed to find this spot basically, but it's basically it's a Filipino food restaurant, but it's like fine dining Filipino food, which we've never actually tried before. Yeah. So, didn't expect to be talking about this next to a human skeleton. Um, but yeah, it's basically like fine dining Filipino we've never tried before. It looks very expensive, very highend, and very fancy. So, I'm very much looking forward to trying it. that I feel like we've had expense. I I mean, Filipino food in the UK is expensive because like compared to in Manila, for example, it's like two, three times the price [clears throat] of our Asian dishes, but this seems like the next level of expensive for the next level of fancy. It's not that like sort of big portion family style dining. It's more like smaller portions, a little bit more Yeah, fine dining. That's all I can say really. But I don't know what to expect. Like it was hard to get a table, so I'm expecting good things. [clears throat] Uh it seems to be very popular. Yeah. looking forward to to trying it out because it's been on my hit list of uh restaurants to try for a long long time now. But first, time for dinosaur land. >> Wow. >> He's a friendly one. Will he do a pill? >> Um, hopefully not. >> Okay, another Uber back and we have made it back to Westminster area. Just got off at Savro. Walked along into this kind of really nice food court. They've started to have the Christmas lights to come up and we are eating here. Donia or Dona. Please comment if you've been here or if you know. Maybe we'll just ask them. That would be the logical thing to do. Excited to try this modern. Hello. Modern Filipino sharing plates. We've been wanting to come here for a while. >> Hello. Thank you. How are you? Good. >> Here is a little look at the menu. We had a little look online before. We are thinking [music] of getting the chicken in the south £28 because that looked incredible in the picture. This though, the lamb shoulder calereta pie. That was the one you had to pre-order, wasn't it? >> There's an option to pre-order the caldera pie. >> Oh, does it? Which we didn't do because we didn't do it at the time of our booking. That's £40 for a pie. So, like at that price for a pie, I would hope that's the best pie in the world. It would be >> I'm sure it is. Wait a second. >> Oh, it's garlic butter. I can smell that. Let's have a look at this panda. Oh, it's soft. Woo! Look at that. Getting that squeeze. You can have that bit. Do you want some butter on it? You just going to eat it like that? >> Oh, you want some butter? Yeah. >> Maybe just try the butter on its own first so that we can check you like it. hands are so nice and soft and really fluffy and it's got garlic butter with load of salt on top. >> Very much flavor. I think the balance between the really garlicky salty butter that's so savory and then like the sweetness of the bread is what made that like a very special bread even though it's just bread. >> Thank you so much. >> Wow, very nice. Wow, that looks very nice and crispy. >> And the potato say that comes with a shrimp. >> Thank you. >> That's all good. >> Okay, we've got the chicken in as well. The presentation is beautiful. It comes with a little shrimp paste alioli. We got some crispy potatoes, some jasmine rice, and lech on here, which has got the pepperc corn and liver sauce. Uh, looks very nice. Portion size wise, that's my hand. You can kind of get an idea. Ed is playing his pepper game which we don't do much of but in restaurants it's a bit of an essential right now. Try and balance one of these. Perfect. So I play myself a little try get your finger situation. So salty. So much flavor. And the um the actual skin is like kind of like puffed up a little bit. [music] The meat's really tender. That's one of the best I've had. I'm going to dip the in this sauce here. I'm not actually sure what sauce is. I think it might be some sort of calam. Oh, that sauce is amazing. It's like start like a brightness to it and then it kind of goes into like a really deep savory salty flavor. Wow, that is very very good. Very good chicken. And these little crispy potatoes as well. >> Very good. Very yummy. Try the crispy bit. >> That's not my crispy bit, is it? >> Ready? You may have seen the video we went to Brewart in Brighton which is the only Filipino restaurant local to us. The only one. We really don't have many Filipino restaurants near us. Bruhart is our favorite near us. So to try out another place in London is really really cool. I'm smelling this sauce. I'm going to cut the next bit in half though because that was a big mouthful. Going to move on to the chicken in which I have never ever seen presented in a way like this before. Smells amazing. It's like this lemon. I think the sauce is like a lemon sauce. Huge pieces of grilled chicken. Going to get a load of this sauce. Wow, that's delicious. Oh, it's so good. The sauce is amazing. It's like zingy. It's really good. It's rich. It's not sweet. Oh, that works really, really well. I'm going to have it with some rice. And that is going to be that's going to be a perfect bite as like a whole bite as a dish. I think that's more enjoyable than the electron. >> That just works together so so well. My favorite thing I've eaten so far. So, also need to go back to what I said earlier when I said it's going to be fine dining. It's fine dining, very fine. Um, or more than fine, it's excellent dining, but obviously the price affects it. Um, it is intensive, but I think I do money. So if you want like a special meal out like a date night anniversary for like a special occasion meal and you like Filipino food or you've never tried it be an amazing place to try. We recommend it because it's very very delicious but it's not extravagant. Some places you go down expensive meals expensive dishes. It's like all this funny stuff and things like theater around it. It's dramatic and doesn't need to be good food. This is very high quality, very tasty food. It's well presented food and the fried reflect that is my highlight. It's a sauce for the chicken itself. Incredible. Really? I'm just I'm drizzling everything in like fried potato. I just want to bottle that sauce up. Very good. >> Oh, so polite. Cod's giving us spoons before himself. We found the inside with the ice cream. The like crispiness on the outside is really good. And then it's kind of softer in the middle. The ice cream is amazing. I'm going try to let it dry out. the nicest texture. >> It's like melts in your mouth with mold. That's incredible. Oh, I can eat like 10 of these. >> Good. Nice ice cream. >> That texture. >> Wow. It's a special occasion. Trip to London. Koda's first time in London. We wanted to try this place. >> Exactly. I had a birthday earlier in the year. I'm aware that we only vlog like the cool meals that we go out for and stuff, but then going out is not cheap. Actually, you saw that on the flip side. We went to Jollibee the other day. Anyway, money well spent in my opinion. That was delicious. I think now we've got time for one more coffee. There's a coffee shop called Kiss the Hippo, which I keep seeing online and it's a one minute walk away. So, I'm going to pick up a coffee from there. Then for us, it's going to be back to the station, back home. And this meal basically concludes this London trip this time. This is so so cool. I'm going to try and walk down here and vlog. Me and my boy walking through London. Cody's loved it. You've loved London, haven't you, mate? We have enjoyed it. We're just walking now to the coffee shop, which is here.
