There's an All You Can Eat STARBUCKS BUFFET in Tokyo Japan | Was it Worth it?

Hey guys, good morning. Well, not really morning anymore. Good noon. Mike Chen here in Tokyo, little quiet neighborhood, about 20 minutes walk from Shibuya. Today is another major item being crossed off the food bucket list. This is a place I've been trying to get into, I think, for years, at least two years. And I never ever found an opening while, at least while I'm in Japan. Finally got an opening. So this place, it just sounds really interesting. It's an all-you-can-eat Starbucks buffet. What? Yeah, I know, exactly. I don't know what to expect, really. That's gonna be tonight. So it is lunchtime. I figure, like, get something light kind of before the heavy dinner that's gonna come later. So that's why I'm here, for pizza. And this is supposed to be an amazing pizza place. I think I gotta go for the Diavolo. I got the Diavolo pizza. Look at this thing. This looks beautiful. Okay, first of all, it's not that big. And look at how airy and puffy the crust is. This is definitely more charred than most Neapolitan pizzas I've had. But look at this. Look at this. Listen to this. This is all gorgeous, light pizza dough. Oh, that's a beautiful pattern on the bottom, too. Little chili strands, spicy salami, cheese, chili peppers on top. Oh my gosh, so light. It's so light. This crust is so light. Probably one of the lightest pizza dough I've ever put in my mouth. A little bitter from the char, with a nice, sweet, tangy sauce. Look, this crust is incredible. I mean, this dough is fermented perfectly to be able to do this. It's spicy. The salami is obviously good. I am absolutely obsessed with this pizza dough. If you want a spicy Neapolitan pizza, it doesn't get much better than this. Mozzarella on the bottom, too. This is great. I'd say 8, 9. Maybe 9. I mean, somewhere around that range. It's really good. This is just like this random pizza cart in this random neighborhood. Who even walks down the street? It's like a ski slope here. But yeah, come try some pizza. I've always said this. Some of the best pizza you'll find in the world is in Japan. I love coming here and just trying out different pizzas. This is awesome. And I'm glad it's pretty small. It's a really small pizza. This way, I get to try another pizza right down the street. I love how I just run into random Japanese barbecue places walking down the street. Okay, my next pizza place should be one of these. Man, it's so fun just walking down random streets in Japan. Oh, here it is. That must be a really good pizza place. I'm really curious. I'll try to head back at some point. Man, that would have been great. Two awesome pizzas right next to each other. That's the dream. That's actually the dream. Back in the heart of Shibuya. Is this it? There's a pizza right there. Yeah, let's try it. Okay. Shogun Pizza. Wow, look how tiny these pizzas are. This is so interesting. You've got all these condiments here. And the pizza is pretty much like a little pizza boat. Oh, also, if you get a pizza meal, it comes with fries. My fries are here. Pretty small little bag of fries. Not bad. Add some Shogun hot sauce on it. See what happens. So this is like becoming a thing. So the Shogun pizza, the Shogun burgers. Ooh, I actually like this hot sauce. Like really garlicky hot sauce. Not bad. My pizza has arrived. Got a margarita and a prosciutto mushroom. So this is their most popular. Ooh. This kind of looks like the pizza I just had. Super fluffy, airy crust. Nice and toasty. It looks like a small Neapolitan pizza. It's actually not a bad pizza. I have all these sauces here. Spicy oil onto it. It's not bad. Airy, cheesy. Tomato sauce is good. Crust is really smoky. That's not a bad pizza. The dough is pretty light. Really good. It's so smoky. Try this. This is the prosciutto mushroom. They do definitely put a lot of prosciutto, a lot of mushroom on here. Whoa, this whole top is like coming out. Look at this thing. It's delicious. It's so good. Chased it with some fries and their hot sauce. It tastes exactly like a miniature Neapolitan pie. The dough is good. The toppings are great. The sauce is good. It's really good. I'm shocked. But it is a really good pizza. That's cool too. Good job, Shogun. Oh, here it is. Oh my gosh. Seriously, the best meat sandwich meat box. Let's go. Oh, it's like a little food court. So they got different sandwiches. I got tonkatsu sandwich. There's an egg one. Pork ham. This is a ginormous menu. Oh, there's rice and soups. It's like oysters, grilled oysters. What is this place? Oh my gosh. All right, I think I'll just stick with the sandwich. They do have a buffet in like four hours. This is their famous banana smoothie. Oh, that's thick. You can tell it's made with real bananas though. Look at this thing. It's like an overstuffed steak sandwich. Smashed between two thin pieces of toast. Comes with some potato wedges. This is like a good $20 sandwich. It's pretty good. It's a pretty tender steak sandwich. It's very lean cuts of beef. At the same time, super, super tender. This is like pretty rare the way they cooked it. Whoa, the toast is good. The seasoning on top is nice. Some garlic, some sesame. Wow, this is a really rare sandwich. Look at this butter and sauce. All throughout the pieces of meat. Not bad. This is something that I'm glad I tried it. It's also something that I would only try once. That's good. I think I'm ready for that buffet now. Alright, this is very exciting. Here we go. I see it right up front. Starbucks Ginza House. Oh man, that was like two years in the making. There's like nobody inside. Oh, I think people are upstairs. So this is a Starbucks Reserve. Oh yeah, this is the place. Okay, so this is the menu for the buffet. Alright, interesting. So it's 3,800 yen. You get to choose. There's wine, there's beer, there's cocktails. No alcohol. There's the foods down here and so on. I don't know what that, I don't know what that so on means. Okay, I'm gonna get a muscat ginger peach. So they told me to take this menu and get in line. I'm not really sure I get it. So I think we bring the menu so they know we're part of the buffet experience. Okay, so I kind of think I figured out how this works. Once you sit down, they're gonna take your drink order. And then you take the menu they give you and go up to the cash register. But the thing is, that's kind of confusing I guess, is that there's also a lot of people here who are not here for the buffet. They're just here for the Starbucks Reserve. So you go to the counter and they prepare a plate of food for you. I think this is all the food that you get that is part of the buffet. And they prepare your drink. There's a lot of different drinks on the menu. There's a sheet that actually teaches you how to enjoy. Okay. Tips for the first plate. Wow. So far on the plate, there's some bruschetta looking thing. There's bread and cream cheese. There's some beans and tuna looks like. A little bit of salad cured ham. Some pasta. Parmesan cheese. Potato wedges. And this little cheese bread. There's like a little bit of everything in here. All right. This is the muscat grape drink. This is delicious. That's really good. Very nice. So this is the tuna with chickpeas and beans and peas. Not bad. I'm a huge fan of tuna anything. You get a little piece of quiche here too. Maybe less quiche, more like an omelette. Spinach omelette. It's all right. The salad is just a salad. Not much to report there. I will report that the bruschetta is served on top of really, really stale bread. Oh, that's stale. Tomato is not that fresh either. This is bread and some cream cheese. That's really stale bread. Wow. Tastes like bread that's been sitting there for like two days. Cured ham. That's always going to be good. Best bite so far. Let's chase it with some of this cheesy bread. Oh, this thing has bacon on top too. Wow. Please don't be stale. Oh, my God. This thing is so awesome. That is the type of bread that these things strive to be when they grow up. That's basically, I think, Starbucks take on focaccia bread. And it is wonderful. Oh, this is some spaghetti and meat sauce. That's not half bad. A little high school cafeteria-esque, but that's pretty good. Oh, spicy too. And I think this is a little airy and seamy fried rice ball. No. Croquette. Potato croquette. Wow, this thing is very greasy. Tastes a little more like a potato mochi. It's okay. Best thing on the plate. 100% of focaccia bread. If this is all they have to offer, I would just go back and get some more bread and some tuna salad, I guess. But let's see. I don't know what plate two is. So maybe I'm completely wrong. It's the whole different set of food. Okay, now it's getting a little more fun. So you go back and there are new foods available. It's not like, you know, brand new. But check this out. They have this, oh my gosh, this cake. This is a sakura cake. I got some salami. I got more of this. They call this a little pizza thing. This little focaccia pizza thing. And I got this again. Look at it. Bacon and tons of fat on here. They had a couple different types of pasta. This is the pesto pasta. And then this, I couldn't really hear her. This is like, I think, yeah, it's crab pasta. It's also a little salad with pesto and cheese and tomatoes. There's also, oh my salami is touching it. This is like a chocolate cream sauce. And this is some hummus. And also I got some olive bread to go with my hummus. And then a baguette to go with my chocolate sauce. Okay, this is interesting. This crab pasta might actually be pretty good. That's good pasta. That's really good pasta. I'm impressed. It's pretty nice. I love how much bacon is on top of this bread. You can barely see the bread. Oh, now the bacon fell. You can barely see the bread underneath the bacon. A lot of bacon. I like it. I like how they smothered this bread with bacon. Okay, this pasta is good. That pesto penne is pretty legit as well. This bread is so good. This thing is like a cross between a focaccia and a spicy pepperoni pizza. It's ridiculously good. And it's so, so light. I'm gonna eat it with my salami. That's pretty legit. Look at this olive bread. This is cool. Dunk it in my hummus. That's good. Oh, this is a great combo. Okay, I feel like this is not... I feel like this is hummus with tahini inside. It's very sesame-y. Wow, this is great. That's really good. The only bad thing is, unfortunately, it's not all you can drink. All you can eat, but not all you can drink. So I shouldn't have just downed that drink thinking it was unlimited. So I got a little baguette to kind of scoop up the chocolate cream sauce. It's still bread, but it's good chocolate sauce. Oh, let's forget about this little salad thing. So olive oil down below, too. That's pretty tasty. This little cake looks awesome. I really have high hopes for this. Sakura cake. It is, of course, sakura season. Oh, this is lovely. Oh, this is a make you very, very happy kind of cake. Wow. It tastes like sakura. Absolutely tastes like sakura. It's a really light, airy, chewy piece of cake. The cream is so beautifully fragrant. Wow. That's so good. Round three. All right. I think I tried everything. This is round three. I think I've tried everything at this point. Got some of my favorite bread. Got some of my favorite pasta. Or two of my favorite pasta. Hey, this pasta now comes with some pumpkin and eggplant. Sweet score. I got some brie cheese. I got some custard on toast. And this just came out of the oven when I went to the front. Little quiche, I think. Pretty sure this is quiche. It's pretty hard. Oh, custard bread is nice. That pasta is so good. This actually tastes like something that would come from an Italian restaurant. Huge props for this pasta. Wow. This has just been an absolute heart-filled day. I did not plan it like that. It just sort of happened. So good. I really had no idea what this buffet was going to have. If I did, maybe I would have ate one less pizza. Oh, that's quiche. There's bacon in this quiche. This is one tough quiche. Wow. I think that's all that's going to be on this buffet. I mean, for like 20 bucks, it's definitely one of those things that, hey, you know what? I've been wanting to try it. I'm glad I tried it. And it's for sure something I don't want to try again. You know, it's interesting, like, being able to find out what a Starbucks buffet is all about. I think my favorite thing is the pasta. Pasta's amazing. The little pizza bread was gotten today. Pizza was just the saving grace of the day. It has so many great pizzas today, including here. The drink was great. I wish they gave you refills on that. Otherwise, you're kind of just doing it for the experience. People love Starbucks. The food is not bad. Just one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences. I'm going to take a quick glance up there on the way out if there's nothing else. Maybe I'll go find another pizza. But yeah, two years. Finally got a reservation. Curiosity 100% satisfied. Hi. Actually, this might be really cool. I walked past this place two nights in a row. And look at this. I've been to Standing Sushi before. This is a standing donburi restaurant. This is like, you can get all sorts of different rice bowls. And it's standing only. Look at this. Let's go check it out. So you can order all these dons. Oh, look at this. Unidon. What? Is it China or is it unidon? Oh, wait, wait, wait. What am I doing here? Okay. Unidon. Ikora don. Salmon don. Oh, my God. What the... What is this? This is amazing. Look at this stuff. $2,800. Okay, let me get this one. $1,900. This is... I think this is about different amounts of rice. I don't need that. $1,600 is fine. And you get a little private booth to eat your don. This is so cool. Wow, how pretty is this? This is incredible looking. Wow, how awesome does this look? Look at the bright color of the salmon. There's squid, ikora, uni, scallops, otoro. I think some yellowtail. This is incredible looking. This is awesome beyond words. That's one of the best pieces of salmon I've ever put in my mouth. The salmon is so good, I want to save it. Squid. This rice is good too, by the way. This whole bowl is so awesome. Yellowtail. This is such an amazing place. What? Ikora is wonderful. Little savory popping balls of magic. Oh, that uni. That uni. Fatty tuna is good, obviously. This is the greatest salmon ever. This place is amazing. 2,000 yen, so 12 bucks. This is so worth it. It's so worth it. It's so good. My god. I'm so happy I walked by this place. And tonight, I actually walked down like three blocks away and turned back. I'm so glad I did. Oh, you get free miso soup. Really? Heck yeah. Oh, it's not miso soup. It's some seaweed fish soup. Little bits of fish in here too. This goes really nicely with the rice. And there's three different types of tea. Ho Chi Chau, oolong, and green tea. Oh my god, it's so good. I think I'm good now. What an amazing place. That place is so good. Wow. Unlimited tea, unlimited soup. The soup was really good too. The seafood bowl was amazing. At such a good price point. That's definitely a local place right there. I'll put the information for that down below too. Definitely check it out.
