What $1,000 Per Night Gets You in BANGKOK, THAILAND (Four Seasons Chao Phraya)

Like, I have never in my life been up to a hotel that personalised initials onto items. when we first came to Thailand in 2018 we were living the ultimate true backpacker lifestyle but in today's video we are back and we've got the opportunity today to show you the ultra luxury side of Bangkok Thailand there's some things here that i cannot quite believe are happening and if this is a side of Thailand that you want to explore more of there is ample opportunity here Bangkok really is a capital city that gives you the ultimate range of different experiences i'm talking street food for under a dollar right the way up to where we're staying today so we want to show you what you can get at the highest level of luxury in Bangkok at one thousand dollars per night so welcome to today's video super excited to show you around this place but let's switch over to yesterday Bangkok Thailand for the first time for us in eight years wow we're back this is where it all began for us at the very start of our YouTube traveling we came to Thailand it was our one-way ticket we left the UK we quit our jobs eight years ago and here we are still making YouTube videos with two kids welcome to the vlog we have picked up some cash we are ready for street food in bangkok we're ready for picking up whatever we feel like when we're walking around this is going to be very different though this next thing we're doing we've booked a grab which is interesting because we need a big car because we've got all these suitcases there's four of us we've got so much luggage the only option was to book a 10 seater van cost 700 baht which isn't too bad it's not too bad it was kind of 200 baht more than a regular car but we are heading off to a hotel that we have never stayed in before we've never stayed in this kind of level of hotel before and we definitely definitely when we first came to thailand did not stay in a place like this we would never have dreamed of doing something like this it was something that was so out of reach in the past when we first came to thailand we stayed in a very small accommodation where you just get a tiny room and a bed i remember the bed was super small for both of us but this time around somehow eight years later we are able to create this video and show what a luxury experience is like in bangkok but don't worry guys we're still going to be getting our street food we're still going to be getting that incredible pad thai on the street food i mean how much was it when we first came here like like a pound 80 80 baht something like that no it was no no like 60 wasn't it no I know I think it was like sixty I thought it was less than a pound or I made that up yeah I feel like it's gone up now probably but it's still gonna be delicious and cheap cannot beat Thai street food haven't had it for years so excited to be here and yeah it feels like a bit of a full circle moment because this is kind of the last leg of our that's my phone it's kind of the last leg of our Asia trip coming to an end we're back in England shortly so this is like huge for us coming here at the very end of the trip with the two kids now madness here is our ride the biggest van ever what have you ordered yeah it might be a little bit overkill but let's go let's go two vans actually proved quite nice because we've got so much space Lucy and the kids are up front I've been managing to get some nice shots out the window here plenty of room if we'd met some friends at the airport maybe we could have offered them a ride but anyway we are here down in the streets in Bangkok so so cool looking out see people selling fruit selling food all the shops just drove past a really nice temple and it's just so cool to be down here in Bangkok after so long wow we are pulling up to our hotel we're staying at Four Seasons the entrance entrance oh my goodness the cars the cars out the front here are unbelievable wow this this looks so nice I suddenly feel very underdressed even oh there's a guy at Lucy, there's a guy in a suit I think they might be hello hello how are you thank you so much thank you thank you so much thank you guys this is so nice it's amazing isn't it look lovely oh yeah wow what an amazing lobby here this is stunning i'm like feeling so grateful at this point just walking in here compared to where we stayed when we first came it's just mind-blowing look at this this entrance this is the most luxurious hotel we've ever been in ever thank you so much this is a coconut water with the hints of longan very nice thank you lovely what have you got so we have a family suite here which oh we're so high up which i'm very excited to see you're about to get in now okay i don't think this has happened anywhere else in the world we've ever stayed our luggage has beat us to the room our luggage is here which just makes it so much easier we can unpack straight away thank you very much wow guys how nice is this this is amazing wow oh wow wow wow this is so nice look at this setup this is amazing we've got a view as well we've got huge bed look at that that is just lovely massive tv coda's bed area we walk around here to the bathroom this is like a luxury spa look this bath Coda, come and look at the bar that is beautiful, wow look at the bath, have you seen it how cool is that massive double sink area as well, wow wow wow what a stunning room this is absolutely beautiful, what a way to end off this whole Asia trip that we've been on for months incredible, just cannot believe it and here is the view, wow we can see the river, the rest of the property itself which is massive, it's vast here it's a rooftop terrace over there and then that beautiful Bangkok skyline, that is amazing, hello thank you so much, yes please thank you so much thank you, lovely thank you very much, um yeah that's great yeah thank you, wow iced latte ordered and delivered, can you um can you put the straw in for me, sorry just because i'm holding the camera i got just can you just just put the straw in please, did that actually get you? it got me as well it's got a little lid on it, genuinely couldn't see it that's very funny, very good, let's try the coffee, i'm a coffee uh what's the word connoisseur, i do like my specialty coffee, let's see how the most luxurious hotel in Bangkok fares with its coffee, very nice, that is not hotel coffee, that is very very good, okay quick change ready for dinner we're trying out one of their restaurants this evening it's i think it's a cantonese restaurant and the menu looks amazing so very excited for that the sun is setting behind us with that amazing view and i just wanted to show you something that's kind of blown me away slightly here i was looking here and i saw this here it's like tissue like a flannel and i thought gw that's george's initial how funny it must be the company that make them then i went to the other side and i thought oh there's another company that's ld which two companies that make them with our initials they've embroidered some face tissues for us like i have never in my life been up to a hotel that personalized initials onto items that i assume you can take home with you like that is next level so george has just gone to drop some laundry down the road because going back to england without a huge suitcase of washing to do is the one so yeah that's happening and because of that we're running maybe five to ten minutes late to dinner but they've got a qr code that you can scan for a whatsapp group chat and we've move the reservation back on whatsapp seamless communication i've done something bad i've done something terrible i have not planned something well enough we are about to head to the nice restaurant here at the hotel for dinner and i'm wearing the same clothes that i flew in today i'm wearing shorts i really don't even know if they're going to let me in i've just been out to drop laundry there's a laundry place around the corner so we're still like that backpacker traveler dropping our laundry the outfit i wanted to wear or the the one outfit on this trip i've been wearing is like this black shirt these light colored pants long trousers they're in the laundry and i wanted to wear them for this dinner this evening hopefully it's not a big deal we'll find out i mean lucy looks beautiful as always lucy's worst case you are gonna have to we're gonna have to like i'm gonna have to take this bit downwards we have to cut it because you could get away with wearing a skirt true cut the bottom there's quite a lot of material here yeah we've some of these at home, they're really nice, we actually pre-ordered our food, we've got a really nice menu coming and we're all just going to share it, Koda's absolute favorite at the moment is roast duck, like Peking duck, and we were like we have to get that because he's obsessed with the duck, the pancakes, the cucumber, um so yeah, he's very excited for that other week and we've just got this really really nice view of the like water feature, the lobby is just opposite over there, we're trying to get our bearings at the hotel, and tomorrow it's still going to be in this video but tomorrow's plan is to basically like explore every inch of this place show you the kids club show you the swimming pools the options there show you the breakfast food show you other options at the hotel for food, i think we're going to have some dinner by the pool side, yeah it's so nice just to slow down for a minute because i think i've said it before but this trip's been so fast-paced been so chaotic that coming somewhere like this which is like the ultimate place to relax and actually having the time to relax in because so many times we check into hotels we use them for a place to sleep at night we may have a dinner or something there we might have a few breakfasts there but we never actually get to enjoy and take a minute, so out of all the places to do that, i think we may have chosen a good one here and to rest up ready for our very long flight home in a few days from now, very nice, thank you thank you, it's lovely, very nice, very interesting uh innovation, you know, oh what the tripod, yeah Yeah. The tripod is cool. I'm kidding, I'm kidding. The tower is also really cool, to be honest. Love to be content creators. Yes, of course. We just need to get a tripod one of these days. Once again, on the channel, if you watch regularly, you'll know the different types of tripods we like to use. Today it was this cup, which the wine man appreciated. And I'm appreciating this wine, delicious. here we have some prawn toast with crystal caviar on top lucy's going to try it's the coder actually okay so we've now also been told what the utensils are for and in which order so there was a golden fork here which was for the amuse bouche which we've now enjoyed and eaten then there's your chopsticks for you eating the food you're gonna eat then there's a spoon for if you have soup then the chopsticks on the right side of that are for sharing so if i want to serve like lucy some food or we just want to share and move food around the table you use these ones you don't actually eat from these ones now i know because we've had similar layouts in restaurants lately and we've had no idea we've just kind of been picking up whatever now we know the etiquette but anyway going to go in with this crispy prawn toast with caviar on top now i don't know if this is like a one bite thing i'd say two i think two bites in half this is fancy this is an amazing restaurant it's just lovely setting here oh oh that is delicious crispy prawn toast the caviar is salty just adds like so much just add so much flavor just just add so much flavor in your mouth so i've removed george from the shots to enjoy for myself cheers guys oh thank you so this one our chef they have steak for three steaks that's why we got three layers of pork we got the crispy skin the fat and the meat in one bite very nice blend very well with the little mustard very nice thank you so much thank you okay gonna try this peking dark roast dark this is the third time we've had it on the trip and every time it's slightly different yeah it was peking at us wasn't it it was this time it really was did we film the head a minute ago i don't know maybe okay here we go etiquette do you use chopsticks no you cut it up with a knife and fork how do you think i reckon you probably use chopsticks right no surely not i don't know i don't like this oh my god okay yeah probably as miss rachel would say so good we're at the end of the trip guys the kids are both on screens we're three meals out a day with two young kids at least one meal a day we've got the screens out and it's okay so good the homemade hoisin sauce is unbelievable was it was it um homemade hoisin sauce or hoisin homemade sauce not funny so we have just got back to the room after a lovely meal lucy said they've put something out what did you say oh sorry i moved on over here they've put in like a jewelry thing out so you can like put your watch your earrings on wow i need to buy a watch and some earrings boys are having fun but it is bedtime okay bedtime for you and bedtime for you yeah you look ready for bed great age gap with these two Kodak keeps Remy entertained all the time but guys one second for you good morning welcome to the most beautiful hotel area I think I've ever seen it's like a whole river here this is lovely good morning from Bangkok we are here first morning at Four Seasons of for breakfast camera's a little bit hazy this morning because it's very humid outside our room is nice and cold we've come out and we're kind of defrosting now i've already lost Lucy there they are this is the breakfast area oh and there's the pool so we haven't yet been down here yet at all but later on we will be enjoying the swimming pool down there but for now breakfast is in here when we travel breakfast buffets are our thing we absolutely love a breakfast buffet so we're very excited to see what it's going to be like here i'm sure it's going to be at the top top standard very excited for this one let's go everything is amazing they've got eggs benedict which Lucy just take away as i start to film it yeah and also like a random plate of other stuff honestly you've got every type of like dried fruit they've got dried strawberries i've never seen that at a buffet before they've got every nut they've got ricotta cheese pepper cheese mozzarella like every type of cheese yes you're gonna have that aren't you you've got every type of smoothie they've got coconut water out all different juices everything fruits you can imagine they've got like mango like everything it's just it's ridiculous and i'm so glad we've got three more in there we've got one little mango passion fruit drink again love the little cups here i need to get some tips for at home so good that's all i say when i have food i need to think of some new adjectives george so good one thing i noticed they're not like little hotel pastries they're like full-on like bakery pastries like a full-size almond croissant here just you pay four or five pounds for that at home these days yeah it's mad you had to go one more didn't you than me yes okay just spent some time at the kids club while remy took a nice long nap in the room really good kids club we actually went down to the riverfront thank you guys for leaving the lift open for me thank you all um we spent some time um at kids club we fed the fish at the river i'll put some clips in they gave us little buckets of fish food and we went down to the riverfront and like threw it in and they'll be like i think they were catfish they were huge fish with whiskers so i assume cats cats i'm gonna assume catfish i don't assume that they were cats they were definitely fish and now the plan is to head to the pool although there was no sun around us free when we went past so i'm hoping we can find a little spot so just leave our stuff and then come in and out of the pool and just spend a good couple of hours down there the weather is insane it's like 36 degrees today so i'm slightly nervous we're all sun creamed up you're not wearing any sun cream we're all apart from george wearing loads of sun cream i'm ready for a nice relaxing afternoon at the pool what a lovely pool here how is it mate is it good it's really really lovely pool it's right on the riverfront here so it's really cool seeing that like river alongside the pool like three or four different pools here there's some like bubbly areas with like a hot tub there and it's very nice okay just ordered some drinks at the pool we've got pineapple juice for codes fresh coconut this is a pandan lemongrass shake that i got and then george has got a shaken espresso martini okay the food's just arrived looks amazing we've got the pad krapow we've got spring rolls deep fried vegetable spring rolls we've got pad thai so excited for this and the chicken satay they've also got the kids menu so coda's got a bolognese on the way remy's got a cheeseburger on the way but look at this okay it's now the next day and you join us down by the pool we're about to have a nice morning swim after another delicious breakfast here and we hope you've enjoyed seeing
