Trump: Venezuelan Airspace to Be Closed
President Donald Trump said today that the airspace above Venezuela should be considered closed. He directed the message to "Airlines, Pilots, Drug Dealers, and Human Traffickers."
This is the latest public development in president Trump's pressure on the Venezuelan regime and its leader Nicolas Maduro.
On Thursday, Trump said the U.S. attacks on drug traffickers in the Caribbean could expand to strikes on land in Venezuela.
He said, "The land is easier, but that’s going to start very soon. We warned them. Stop sending poison to our country."
The Trump administration views the Venezuelan regime as a significant national security threat to the United States.
It cites Venezuela's involvement in drug trafficking and mass migration, and its ties to Iran, China, and Russia.
We will be closely monitoring this situation and provide you with key updates as they come.
