Huge N Scale Urban Baseboard — One Month in the Making

This month-long project gave me the chance to build a huge N scale urban baseboard with modular and removable city blocks. Each section is designed to create small dioramas that I can rotate, swap, and customize, perfect for kit bashing, scratch building, and experimenting with city layouts.

In this video, I take you through the entire build process: from marking and cutting the baseboard, to painting sidewalks, adding road markings, and stabilizing the panels. I also share a few things I’d do differently next time and reflections on scale, modularity, and urban design.

The city platform is just the beginning... next up is a station building project that will bring this urban layout to life.
