Back here tonight, AIC brought together
students, alumni, faculty, staff, and
community members for an ongoing
celebration of Veterans Day.
>> 22 News reporter Sarah Bianame joins us
live in studio with what this ceremony
meant to the brave men and women who
served our country.
>> That's right, Nikasara. This celebration
was an emotional moment for those who
have worn the uniform, their family, and
their allies.
What does Veterans Day mean to you?
>> It means
to a celebration
of those that served in the military as
I was one.
>> American International College used its
annual Veterans Day ceremony to
recognize the courage and sacrifice of
all who have worn the uniform. Although
Veterans Day was celebrated nationwide
on Tuesday, AIC has continued that
celebration because this federal holiday
means a lot to the community.
>> We defend the Bill of Rights. The
Constitution tells us how to run the
government, but the Bill of Rights and
some other amendments tells us about
their freedoms and that's what veterans
are all about.
>> In toast to honor America's PS, MIAs.
After years of service, Wednesday's
celebration felt like a mission
accomplished for the veteran alumnest of
the year who contributes to the college
immensely, including the donation of the
veterans monument that stands on the
quad.
>> I've learned in my life is that if
everybody does a little, a lot gets
done.
>> Following the pinning of four graduating
student veterans, one senior spoke of
his goals to combat the increased
suicide rates among military personnel.
Thanks to those who encouraged me to
continue my education and receive my
masters in in May and continue on to
hopefully become a chaplain in the
military to transfer
>> much like
>> and AIC's long history of supporting
veterans dates back to when courses were
offered at the Wesover base during the
Korean conflict and Vietnam War. working
