7-year-old girl shot while in backseat of car: Police

Philadelphia police are investigating after a young child was shot while sitting in a car on Tuesday night.

Officers responded to Temple University Hospital around 7:18 p.m., where they found a 7-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. She is listed in stable condition.

Police say the child was riding inside a Honda sedan with two adult family members when someone fired at least five shots along the 3000 block of North Marshall Street in North Philadelphia.
