Squamish
Yohan
Steve
John
Yeah buddy
How was that?
That is so savage
It is difficult
There is so much to that
So much going on
That compression
And the accident in the corner
You ride like a champ
I was actually
From where I was
It sounded like you are not gonna make the corner
But
I follow you or what?
Yeah
OK buddy
First ever follow cam top to bottom
Follow you
I was going
I was trying to go slow
It's just so variable
It's loose, it's dry
Big corner, huge cliff
It's insane
That was fun
Let's move to the next one
Wow
We are now on intestinal fortitude
It is a double black diamond trail
You can find the trail on trailforks
And I encourage you to ride it
It's really fun
But first right there
You've got that slab
That kind of disappears when you come fast
And you can actually pull a gap
Something I've done
A year or two ago
And what I like to do is to jump far right
Because that way I can avoid the crack in the rock
And I find it a bit smoother
I can get back onto the brakes
Sooner for the next drop
After, so
Steve has done it, but let's do it again
Let's do it
Not in loose conditions like this
That's so loose, man
How was that?
That was good
I still listened to what you said
And I still got sucked a little bit left
And as soon as I saw the bridge
I'm like, oh, I'm going to skirt this right on the edge
And I did
It's difficult
It's really tough
It sounds like you're going to miss the bridge
If you go too far right, but actually
Everybody goes too far left
That's why the mark is too far left
Yeah, that's a tough one
I like it
I think I got where I wanted to
So I've done this gap
On my shred it last year
Coming from the corner
And hopping directly onto the slab
And it's super high consequence
Because you pick up a lot of speed at the bottom
And there's a huge compression
And there's trees, rocks
But to be fair, that was one of the easiest moves of the video
Because it's small enough, you know
So you're less likely to make mistakes
Because it's small
The approach isn't that technical either
And I thought I was the first one to do it
But actually, Benoit Coulonge
Which is the French champion
Of downhill racing
One of the best World Cup rider right now
I actually did it
Three or two before
I was also told that he had a very bad crash
And I don't know if it's on this slab
Or elsewhere
But from what I understood, it was on this slab
So
Well dude, like I said
This is a slab that I've always gone as slow as I possibly can
So
To look at it through these eyes
Is actually kind of disturbing
Why don't you start by rolling into it
And just gapping the last little bit
I like that
So you can gain some experience, some confidence
And then when you feel it
You can gap from where my feet is
I'd like to do that
I'd like to pop in and see how hard I can bite
And stay controlled
Honestly, this one's scary
This one scares me
Because you have to land
And bite into your brakes
Or you're going to explode yourself
Like this is
I would never think to gap into this
I'll come up in here
Dip and then pull here
Yeah
You can put from here
So it's basically out of the size
And you can ride it pretty fast
I want to see how hard I can
Apply the brakes
And like how much control
I can have
I feel good
I feel super ready for that
Of course
How's that
It was good man
Like I went pretty deep
And I didn't put any style on it
But that's the first time I do it in a year
So I wanted to kind of like
Rebuild that experience
Before throwing shapes
But the grip is really good
You'd be surprised
It looked great
It was nice to see you go a little bit deeper
Knowing that I could go a little slower
And still tag it
Because that's definitely what I want to try
If you land front wheel first
You can get back on the brakes
Really early on
Compression at the bottom is not bad
I could have changed my line
Or go faster
I really had margin to go bigger
OK sweet man
You got it
This one kept me up
I never thought I would do that
Negative steez
Why
That was so thrilling
That's a good video
OK guys
This intestinal fortitude
Was a pretty good warm up
For a gap I found here on In-N-Out
So let's go and check it out
Wow
I'm going to ride there
In-N-Out is a single black diamond trail
It's super famous
You can check it out on Trailforks
It's known for that massive slab
Where I just did a nose manual
But I found this gap
To me that's pretty obvious
You got a nice take off
And you got a landing
Which is basically perfect
But the run out is delicate
Because you got a 90 degree left hand corner
It's off camber
And it's pretty slippery
So the biggest difficulty for me
Was to judge the speed
Land precisely on the brake
And make the left hand corner
So let's see if we can do it today
Dude this is actually so gnarly
This is so much bigger than I thought it was going to be
I thought it was going to be little
But this is
Like if you deck it
And bounce
You're going to for sure explode that corner
I'm going to drop my PSI a bit
And like holy crap you're going to be coming in fast
Wow
Yeah
That helps me to watch a video of me doing it
Because I can see how much speed I had
And I was actually going quite slow
So that helps me
Going to do it again after so long
It's got an uphill take off
That will really help in propelling you
And allowing you to go slower
The first time I did it
I went maybe a bit too low
Can you kind of
Can you give me a rough estimate
Where you're like releasing brakes
No I think I was on the brakes entire time
And releasing from here
So it's controlling the speed
You know it's tough
You don't really see
It's so blind
Until you get here you don't really see it right
And then when you're here it's too late
Yeah
Dude stop scaring
Ok
That is
Yeah it's another
I always seem to be doing this but like end of the day
Sun's going down
Last feature is the gnarliest feature
So I have to dissect this
Let me watch this video
See
Slow
Slow in
Pretty big I might go slower
Boom
Deep
Maybe not
Right where it needs to be
I don't know about this one
I'm going to give another run in
It's too hard to follow someone else
I'm doing another run in
Ok
Ok start
Steve try to almost land front wheel first
Yeah
And so that way you can get back on the brakes sooner
Because your front wheel lands
You're already on the brakes
And then you lock your rear wheel
And even if you care that would like
Allow you to slow down a bit more
You ok buddy
You sure
Your body ok
Yeah such a gnarly crash
And like this is not a small gap
It's like 15 out
10 feet tall
And you're super precise
But you're just overshot by like
A foot which is nothing
And that's why you're really good at
Landing on a slab
Especially an off camera slab
Your braking control is pretty one of the best in the world
And like
Yeah that just shows like how
A tiny mistake can just like
Catapult you
Yeah man
I'm totally aware of what we're doing today
And that's I knew exactly what I had to do
And just like I said
Mistakes happen and I knew it was a tiny margin
I just made a little error
It could have been worse fortunately
It's like a good area to crash
So a few little bumps and bruises
Hopefully everything's ok
And what people don't see is that
This is not our first video today
We've actually done another one from 10 to 3pm
And this one we started filming at 4pm
And it's currently 8.51pm
So it's been a big day at the office
But yeah
