Shearing sheep is one of the tasks that occupy ranchers and shepherds in mid-spring, once the cold winter weather is no longer a risk for the livestock.Before mechanical and electric machines were introduced, hand shears were used for this task, which had to be perfectly sharp in order to cut the wool properly.
