What’s Stopping Safe Births Everywhere?

Every two minutes, one woman dies from pregnancy-related causes, but most of these deaths are preventable. Rotary International is taking action to change that.

In this video, we explore how Rotary clubs and partners are improving maternal and child health in three countries:

🌍 Papua New Guinea – Midwives are being empowered through the Midwifery Leadership Buddy Program, pairing Australian and PNG midwives to strengthen leadership, advocacy, and community trust.
🌍 Nigeria – Rotary’s Programs of Scale grant supports Together for Healthy Families in Nigeria, a holistic, community-led project tackling maternal mortality with education, home visits, and healthcare access.
🌍 United States – In Chicago, a Rotary club is addressing the nation’s high maternal mortality rate focusing on underserved communities.

From training midwives to building community trust, Rotary members are proving that maternal deaths are preventable when women have access to skilled care, education, and support.
