Fighting Malaria in Zambia

Malaria remains a leading cause of preventable illness and death in Zambia. But bringing testing and treatment closer to home is helping change that.

Through Partners for a Malaria-Free Zambia, Rotary and its partners trained 2,500 volunteer community health workers to test and treat malaria in their own communities. Two years after the funded program ended, 94% of those roles remained filled, bringing care closer to more than 1.25 million people.

#worldmosquitoday - This global observance aims to raise awareness about the severe public health dangers posed by mosquito-borne illnesses.
