Finally, Tiling Of The Kitchen/Dining Area Is Done! | Expat Building House In The Philippines

The boys here are preparing to do the tiling. You can see they've got a level across here. They're bringing out the toilet adhesive. And they're just starting over there. So the guys are getting a good go on with our kitchen. Gmarz there is rendering the new wall that we've put in for the fridge. We'll have a solid wall there. The boys have got about four or five here I think. Doing the tiling. And it's looking good. Three quarters of the, now most of the cutting in obviously has to be done yet. That's all where the hard work is. So we're pretty pleased tonight. It's Tuesday night. We've finally had the tilers come in and start to tile the kitchen. It's looking fantastic. We're really happy with it actually. Just ignore that noise outside. Our dog Jay carries on like an idiot every time it's near food. He eats too much. He's hopeless. And he just carries on like a fool. Anyway, forget about that. It's dinner time at the moment for the dogs. So here behind me is our sort of almost finished first kitchen bench. Now that's down to Willow. We're just going to keep that paint on this end. We'll paint up the edges. But it'll be tile across the front. I think that'll work fine. It looks quite good I think. This one will end up having cupboards on the end. That will probably be an oven in here. And then this will be the sink. And our stove needs to be cut in. We're going to have an induction. A dual induction and dual or maybe single gas. Let's have a look here. So, we're done here for the pantry. That's been done today. So the full size tiles have been done. And over here look at this. So we've got the tiles right through our This is going to be the lounge room portion. Probably TV there, lounge in here. This will be the dining table. And here eventually we'll have a centre bench. They're going great with this. This is two days work. I've got four or five guys I think on it in the team. Yeah, it's looking good. My darling's really excited about this. We've had some progress today in our tiling. The boys here have been busy. Looks like it's mostly finished except for under the benches over there. Music We are happy with the result of the tiles. In our kitchen finally it's been done after several months of waiting for someone to do the tiling and it didn't turn up. So we've decided to use our local guys here in our barangay. And yeah, we're happy with the result. And look at this. Here is our pantry. Linden will come back here next week to finish the painting and patch up that needs the paint to be done. But the only thing that we're not happy is the splashback. Because it's way too short and I don't like the colour. It's too dark. So we're going to change that one. We're going to CT and get a new tile. We want a lighter colour in the splashback and the splashback would come up to this. A little bit more wider than this one because when you cook, the oil will splash everywhere not just on this side. And because we have this power point here that's why we have to remove this one so we can extend our splashback. So hopefully we can fix this one soon and this will look good and we can use our kitchen. Music
