Plumbing Work For The New Kitchen | Building House In The Philippines | Expats In The Philippines

So things are a bit of a mess in the kitchen at the moment but we're getting there we're getting moved in now today. Now what I need to do is in here I've only just temporarily tied in the plug and done this tap so I need to check that they're tight put some tape on them and then outside I need to connect the pipe that's coming out from under the house up and to the other plumbing. So our first time at doing these PPR pipe and heating it up melting the plastic PPR and then putting it into the joint. Seems to be working all right. So I'll just show you what we need to do here. We've dug our little trench and exposed the pipe that our builder had put in previous and basically all we need to do now is we're going to fit angle onto this one here and I've measured that hopefully that'll be right or I can trim a little bit off the end if it's a little bit too long and then we'll need another vertical to fit into the end of this one up to this angle. All right so I'll give that a go. All right I'll turn that so I might have to lift it up a bit now. We want to get that one in there and that one in there. All right take that out. That one's straight in. All right there we go that one's on so let's have a look now. This one has to fit onto here. Oh I think that'll go nicely. All right we'll do that one. Okay now quickly do that other one push it in there you got in all the way. Okay okay off pull it off. Oh I hope that one's taken. 7.30 there get started with this. All right we'll check that length 7.29 that's close enough. I don't think it matters if these aren't perfect. I'm trying to get this as flat as I can so it's the most area to glue. I think it worked. Nice like that. Just pull it over a bit now. Now what I need is a little piece here so we can attach this onto here. Hold it strong hold it strong. All right we've done our PPR pipe in here to go into our kitchen. This will connect to this pipe with a joiner. We've got the joiner here for that so that's for that one. I think I'll put a valve on that as well there but I also want to think about fitting a tap here off this system. That would probably be there I guess on the other side of that. Now this is one we've been using typically to isolate and it's an it's a very easy one to move whereas these aren't so easy. They're quite stiff you've really got to work to to loosen them. So what I wouldn't mind doing is including this one as our main isolation to the tanks here. So what happens is this currently is isolated and everything is feeding out of the bottom tank and then we just open these valves to fill that tank once it's empty again and then this one can fill again and then we've got one we'll end up having two backups. So we've realized we need to do these 90 degrees here which we've got a couple of 90 degree bends to replace that with and but obviously this is our main from the pump that comes in so we need to isolate that. So what we're going to do is we'll do this bit first we'll pull that out pull it out there next we'll get a bit of water out there okay so that's our main feed. Now what we want to do is get that connected back as quick as we can so the rest of the house still has water. So what we'll do first is we'll add this one in here what I'm going to do well it does these do fit on here nicely now you've got four parts to this actually five probably you've got the the lock cap bit the bit that locks onto the pipe so they go on the pipe first like so now one trick you always want to make sure you leave enough room here the worst thing is some of these where I've had they're too tight you can't get that off enough to get the thing free and it's a real hassle so you always want to leave enough room. So you bring that down the next part this bit goes in and then the little seal that goes over that and then we put that into here that fits perfectly pull this one down the lock ring comes up to that and then we tighten it up simple I love these connectors they're so good just hand tight is enough okay that's our fitting what we're going to do now is put that into there and now we can isolate cut the pipe and put it straight back in you know join that in there with the heating tool then we can turn the pump back on and we're ready to do the rest of this so this is the our new fitting I'm going to have to do something with this pipe it's over sort of the walkway my plan is to sort of bring this out and over and then down that way through a two inch pipe underneath what it will end up to be concrete here and then this will be a drain probably with a tap here pressure fed and and that will take the water away from there this will get filled in so I need to get rid of the water from that this is a control for the kitchen which we won't open yet until we check the fitting in there all right so we fixed up the plumbing outside we've done the there which is our dishwasher future dishwasher um I got the pipe coming here now I hooked this tap up I had this in here hooked it up and it was getting barely a trickle out now what's going on I thought the plumbing and in under here might be had it so I um took the tap off and ran this straight into the bucket that worked okay so that's a big plus because that would have been a major drama I was thinking I'm gonna have to drill holes in the back here and do new plumbing what I found I pulled this out and just seems to have very fine holes some seem to be clogged a little so I pushed water in it from the other way pushed it back in took it out to the tap outside you know they must have some blockage it seems to have cleared it and I tried it in again with it into the bucket down here and it's worked fine so I'm going to plumb it back in and see we might be uh we might be successful looks like I might have cleared whatever blockage it had and got it going so let's try that here's the big test the boss is trying oh look you put it all the way on and try it to the other side for the other yeah I know oh you and it actually comes out there very good all right boss is happy and we're happening so we didn't quite get our gas stove done what I'm going to do there is drill a hole in the wall here and outside here we need to build this up to be level and work out the height that we want for the gas bottle so we've got a little bit of work so it was a bit late to start called the five so we can cook in here now we've got the stove that's on yep we've got an induction cooker happening we've got a range hood happening we've got a sink happening and we've got a pantry happening here's the pantry need to clean some of the grubby marks off pantry is happening and we've got a fridge happening so we still got to get our good lounge one day we use this little one that you can convert into a sleeper for now obviously we've got to get it somewhere for tv we're going to sort out a dining table we're going to sort out a center bench but at least we can start using the kitchen now once we get a little bit of cleanup happening in it all right that's enough for me today I think
