Hi, I'm Anastasia. So, I found this idea floating around on YouTube that you can make $2.80 per
minute just by watching videos. Let's make the math. 2.8 by 60 minutes. This is supposed to make
you $168 per hour basically doing nothing. This video received 17,000 thumbs ups, so I guess a lot
of people like this method. Let's try it out today. To start with, this YouTuber makes the tutorial a
little bit backwards. He shows you how to register on the site and make money on it, but he doesn't
reveal the actual website until the end of his video. So, I will save you some time and tell you
the site right away. It's called Rewardy.io. What's interesting is that it indeed has 4.5 stars on
Trustpilot, and their own description says that users can earn here by watching their favorite
streamers, complete tasks, surveys, and exclusive bonuses. So, I went ahead and signed up, and it
took me about 3 minutes. And here is what I found. If you click on this Earn tab on the left, you can
select here a few ways to make money. Listening to music, watching streams, watching clips, playing
games, and some more. So, I chose the Watch Streams option, because that's where the original video
promised that the whole magic would happen. It said here $2 per minute of stream, so I thought,
great, I will leave it playing for a while, since my daughter is about to arrive from kindergarten,
and she will need my attention. So, I left the stream playing. It was, by the way, Twitch stream.
And when I came back about an hour later, what I found was the stream stopped, and I earned $0.90
of these yellow dollars. But next to it, there is a value in real US dollars, and that says only
$0.09. You heard it right. Using this method, I can earn less than $0.10 an hour. I checked
if I could start watching another stream, but on top of paying so little, they also
cap you by one hour of watch time. Here's their message. To continue earning while watching,
you need to acquire watch time, which you can get by completing other tasks and taking quizzes.
I clicked on one of these featured offers. I picked this one, as I wanted to see what these
watch clips does even mean. And here, it looks like I have to install their app on my mobile
device and then use Facebook and Twitch on my smartphone to earn between 1 and 10 points,
which we know now that these points mean, right? 10 points equals to $0.01 only. And I have to
install an app and risk my device security for $0.10 per hour. You know what? If you have been
around this side hustle space on YouTube for a while, you know how it goes. Just like in this
video that I've been following, they're often sending you to suspicious sites and ask you to
install apps that you don't even know what they're doing on your device. So, protecting your personal
information online is really important when you're trying all these sites that promise you easy
earnings. And you know what I think? You're probably tired of big promises like in that
original video that we've been watching today. That channel didn't only forget to mention that
you're not earning dollars, but some credits and that you only earn a cent for each credit.
But they also suggested that they will post withdrawal proof from the site only when their
video hits 2,000 likes. Sure thing, that's how they've earned 17,000 likes on it, right?
Now, I want to hear from you. What do you think about this side hustle? In all fairness,
it did work, but only if you consider 9 cents for an hour worth your time. If you think about it,
yes, you don't have to do anything. Just keep one tab on your computer open watching the stream. But
you are using resources of your computer and electricity to keep it on as well, right? I have
no idea how to calculate those costs, but it definitely costs something. You know what? I
asked ChatGPT to calculate for me an estimate cost of watching a live stream on a laptop,
and the range it suggested is very broad, anywhere from 3 cents up to $5. This obviously will be
different depending on how much you pay for the internet connection, whether you have unlimited
data usage, and the cost of electricity in your country. But even if we count the lower end of
just 3 cents, it means that you don't even earn the 9 cents per hour, you actually earn 9 minus
3, so you only earn 6 cents. Well, if you want me to keep testing other videos with these big claims,
like this video and comment below. Thank you as always for watching and for all your support.
