Hey guys, in this video I'm going to show you some companies
where you can get paid to actually watch
and review ads online.
So one place to check for these
is a company called Telus Digital.
Telus Digital has two separate job sections.
One is their more traditional career section
where you're gonna find full-time jobs in person or online
where you're basically an employee.
You also have their AI community,
which is basically where you are a contractor
or a freelancer and you can get paid
to actually be an online ads assessor.
So you can see right here,
they have a very long list of these available right now.
They actually have five pages worth of jobs
related to ads and assessment of ads right now.
And usually they call it
a personalized internet ads assessor.
And you'll notice right here
that the description of the job is,
you will be reviewing online advertisements
in order to improve their content quality and layout.
You will be required to provide feedback and analysis
on ads found in search engine results
and provide ratings on their relevance
to the search terms used.
Now they have many of these
in many different locations as I showed you.
So make sure you search for the particular country
that you're trying to apply from
and don't just apply for any one of these.
They have one that's a separate listing for every country.
You don't have to have hardly any experience
or a higher level education to do something like this.
It's a great kind of side hustle job
that you can do maybe part time.
And it's not something you should really rely on
for constant income to pay your bills.
It's something that maybe you could pay
a few of your bills with
that might get you a few hours a week.
But for this type of job,
you are a freelance independent contractor
and you will have the flexibility
and the freedom to work from home
and also you can make your own schedule.
So for these jobs,
they have a few things that they all have in common.
You must live in the country you're applying from
for the last three consecutive years.
You must have familiarity
with current historical trends in your country.
You just kind of know what's going on basically.
Full proficiency in English
and a lot of times whatever the native language
of that country is.
But for instance, if English is the native language,
like if you're applying in the US or Canada,
usually they just require English only.
Also you need access
and use of a broadband internet connection
and you will also have to provide that at your own expense.
You're not gonna get a lot of benefits
like internet stipends or anything like that
when you are working as a freelancer or a contractor.
So you are gonna have to provide your own equipment
and your own internet.
Experience and use of web browsers
to navigate and interact with a variety of content,
access to and use of an Android or iOS smartphone,
barcode scanner for your phone
and active daily user Gmail
and other forms of social media.
Other than that, they just have
an additional job description,
which again, basically you are reviewing ads
in order to improve their content quality and layout.
A lot of these ads are gonna be in search engines
and you will also be reviewing language used in ads
by examining grammar, tone, cultural relevance
and things like that.
So they have a lot of these ad reviewing jobs
available right now at Telus Digital.
Now, as far as how much these could actually pay,
I looked up what an ads quality rater usually averages.
According to 29 reviews,
it could be somewhere between 24 and $41 an hour.
I have seen other jobs that have kind of similar requirements
that are lower paying than this,
but this is just going off of 29 people
who left a review saying they did this job,
which is essentially the same thing as the one I showed you.
The median pay, of course, is $31 per hour.
They also have a 3.6 out of five star rating overall,
so they have pretty good scores
from people who have actually worked here.
We also have a company that's very similar
to Telus International or Telus Digital,
which is called WeLocalize.
This is a company where they have all sorts of jobs
related to AI, language, ads, search engine evaluation,
those types of things.
So if you go to their ads for their jobs page here,
if you go to remote jobs only,
you'll still see that they have a very, very long list
of jobs that you can do.
So if you scroll down a little bit,
you'll find these freelance remote jobs
that are called ads quality raters.
So it's a little bit different job title,
but it's essentially the same thing
as the one I showed you at Telus Digital,
just for a different company.
These are two of the main companies
that have these types of jobs consistently.
You may occasionally see them at other companies,
but these are two of the ones
where if you really want to do something like this,
these are the two most reliable companies
to find listings for these areas,
especially for many different countries around the world
where you're not just limited to the U.S.
So when you look at these positions here,
an ads quality rater, as you can see,
is a fairly common job here right now,
and they have dozens of these listings.
So I'm gonna look at just the U.S. one.
One thing I want to point out, by the way,
is if you are in the U.S.,
you'll notice that it says part-time.
Now, if you look at the other countries,
it says freelance remote.
So with the U.S., they actually are a U.S.-based company,
so sometimes you can actually get benefits
and W-2 employment status if you are in the U.S.
and you get a job here
that's normally freelance in every other country.
So if you're outside the U.S.,
usually you are just a freelance independent contractor.
You will not get any sort of benefits,
but in the U.S., they may even do
some tax withholding automatically for you
and also provide benefits.
But that's just something for U.S.-based users only.
So for this, you will review and grade internet ads
to help shape how ads are delivered to end users.
You will tell the AI program how good or bad
its advertisement suggestions are
based on the user's keywords.
This one is English and Spanish.
You should be able to find plenty of other languages
in other countries.
This is just, again, one example.
They're always great for people
who surf the internet daily.
They use major search engines,
know what people want based on a few keywords,
enjoy researching topics,
and want a flexible and fun side job.
Now this one, they actually do tell you up front
how much it pays, $14.50 per hour.
This actually varies quite a bit.
I've seen some countries pay more or less.
I've seen other jobs in the U.S.
with very similar descriptions that actually pay more,
like 20 or 25 an hour, and they tell you that up front.
Some of them, you actually just have to go and look reviews,
look at reviews to figure out how much they might pay you.
It just really depends.
But sometimes they do tell you how much they're gonna pay.
This one is $14.50 per hour, but it's a very easy job.
You get to actually set your own schedule,
and they do want you to commit at least 10 hours per week.
So it's not a lot of hours necessarily,
and you can choose to work up to 25 hours per week.
You also can start as soon as possible.
So you're gonna work from home.
There's no interview required for this job,
no phone calls, no waiting, any of that stuff.
Now you will have to have some sort of like identity check,
and you will have to usually sign
like a non-disclosure agreement
and pass a test before you start working.
So a lot of companies, if they don't have an interview,
they have you pass some sort of test,
and they usually give you the study material for that.
So with this, experience and requirements here
are very minimal.
Fluency and the language will vary
depending on which country you're applying in.
Strong understanding of English, again,
is something that a lot of times they still require,
even if it's in another country
where English is not the first language.
Comfortable knowledge of modern popular culture,
especially in your country.
Reliable computer system and internet.
Familiar with search engines,
and again, you do have to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Now, because this is the US version,
you can get some benefits here
that won't apply to the other countries.
Now, you have paid sick time, employee assistance,
insurance of different types.
You have 401k retirement plan as well.
So as far as what's like to work here,
first off, if you want to look at some other pay reviews
here, you can look for anything that says like ad reviewer
or ads quality rater or something like that.
You'll notice that some of the reviews may show you
that it's a little bit higher than what they tell you.
It just depends.
Some of these reviews might be really old.
They might've had a different pay rate a few years ago.
These also can be different
depending on the country as well.
You also see quality ad rater, which is very similar.
So there may be some instances
where they pay a little bit more than 14.50 an hour.
It just kind of depends.
Now, as far as reviews though,
they have a 3.2 out of five star rating,
which is a fairly standard score.
Now, we also have a company called Appen.
Appen is actually a publicly traded company.
If you look at their Glassdoor page,
they are a company under the APX ticker
as a publicly traded company, been around since 1996.
Now they do occasionally have a search ad evaluator job,
which is very similar to the ones I've been showing you,
but they're not always available.
Sometimes you can just sign up to their contractor program
where you kind of join a pool of contractors
and you just have different opportunities
available at different times.
And then you can also check their jobs page
where they have like updated recent listings
for different opportunities that they're looking to fill.
So with this, if you are able to find
that they are looking for ads evaluators,
typically it's gonna have
a very similar requirement section here.
So basically you just need a smartphone Gmail address.
You have to pass a qualification exam
instead of doing an interview.
10 hours per week, they have certain checks that they do.
You need to also have the ability to do the task
in the language that is kind of like
the native language of where you live, as well as English.
A lot of times they still want English.
So they don't tell you upfront
how much these pay necessarily.
And I haven't seen a lot of these available right now
for Appen, but you can see that they do have
a lot of other types of jobs like transcriptionist jobs,
data collection jobs.
They do have some, they've had some recently
where you can do like search evaluation,
which is fairly similar,
except you're focusing on search results instead of ads.
And you also have social media evaluators,
which are actually pretty similar in that
instead of looking at ads,
you're just watching social media videos
and basically gathering information about those videos.
So if you're interested in just watching videos,
you can do some of these right now,
social media video evaluator.
But if you wanna focus on specifically ads,
again, you can find some like this one
at this company occasionally,
or you can just sign up for their contractor work pool.
And they do have 3.8 out of five stars overall here
as far as how much you can get paid.
It's going to vary.
Sometimes they have projects
where they just pay you a lump sum.
And then sometimes it's an ongoing project
where they pay you by the hour.
So you'll notice that if you look for something
related to like ads quality review,
you have 48 people who submitted how much they made.
They said they averaged 18 to $32 per hour.
So assuming they are telling the truth,
that could be anywhere in that ballpark.
Now, I also decided to throw in a bonus job in here.
If you want something that's got a little bit more hours,
it's something that may require a little bit
of a background in this area, but it's kind of similar.
It's not exactly the same,
but it's very similar in that you are reviewing ads online
and you are pretty much just working from home.
You can apply for many different countries around the world.
So the company that offers this job
is Coalition Technologies,
and they are a company that does web design
and online marketing services.
So they have this job called a pay-per-click analyst
or a PPC analyst.
It pays 15 to $35 per hour,
and they don't always require you
to have all the qualifications that they mentioned
in the application page.
If you do well in their skills test,
you don't have to have necessarily
every single one of these qualifications.
So it's called a PPC analyst.
PPC is just a certain type of advertisement
that's very common in Google search
and other areas like Facebook.
It's basically something that stands for pay-per-click,
which means the people who are posting these ads
pay every time somebody clicks the ad.
So it's a more like an efficient way
of doing online advertising.
So your job would be centered around analyzing these ads
and improving them.
Now, some of the things you get
with this particular company,
they, again, if you do well in the skills test,
you don't necessarily have to have
all of these qualifications on their wishlist.
Also, they have a 100% remote team
that uses time tracking software.
They welcome your application
wherever in the world it's coming from.
So you can apply around the world at this company.
Another thing I thought was very attractive
to a lot of people,
a most competitive profit sharing bonus plan in the industry.
They pay up to 50% of company profits
to full-time employees each month,
a highly competitive paid time off plan
promoting quality work-life balance.
You have subsidized gym memberships
to help team members feel their best,
medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages
if you're in the U.S.,
international health insurance reimbursement program
for international team members.
So basically, if you can't get these insurance packages
because you're outside the U.S.,
they have a reimbursement program,
device upgrade and learning reimbursement programs,
motivating career development plans,
additional job-specific incentives and bonuses.
So that's what you get with pretty much every job here.
Now, in terms of what they're looking for,
a minimum of six months experience
in something like SEM or pay-per-click campaigns,
experience with Google Ads Editor, Bing Ads Editor,
experience using the keyword planner tool.
By the way, a lot of these ads programs,
they have like a certification course you can do.
I've actually done the Bing one in the past, years ago,
where basically you go through an education program
and they give you like a certificate
that you've passed this program
and you are kind of up to the latest trends
and you know how to use the Bing Ads program
and to construct ads online.
So this is something a lot of times
that you don't necessarily have to have done this
with a job.
This is something you can get a certification in
and it's usually free.
Experience using the keyword planner tool,
which is a common free tool that you use for Google Ads.
One or more years of professional Google Ads experience,
preferred, a Google Ads certification preferred,
knowledge of account KPI selection,
Bing and Facebook paid advertising experience preferred,
ability to manipulate large Google Ad datasets in Excel,
passion for marketing and advertising,
research capabilities, analytical skills,
good time management,
proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Gmail, Google Docs,
Basecamp is preferred.
A lot of these are not required, they're just preferred.
Now this is a 40 hour per week job.
So I kind of saved this to the end.
I know a lot of people are looking for something
more like flexible or part-time,
but this is for those of you that are looking for something,
you're interested in ads, you're interested in marketing,
but you want something with more hours.
So you also need a reliable workstation at home.
Your duties and tasks,
you will conduct keyword research and writing copy for ads,
structure campaigns and ad groups,
work with large datasets in Excel,
creating, analyzing, optimizing ads,
ensuring that all ads campaigns are optimized
for targeted traffic,
regularly consult with the Google ads manager and SEO team.
You'll monitor the success of campaigns,
analyze campaign metrics and data,
conduct A-B testing across these,
different landing pages and different ads,
review traffic in Google ads,
stay current with Google ad updates,
Bing ad updates, working on Facebook ads
and successfully completing Google ad certification,
if not already obtained.
Like I mentioned earlier,
they have these certifications you can do usually for free.
So a lot of stuff related to ads,
very little in terms of required years of experience.
None of these say even one year or more,
it's like six months at least.
So this is something that could be fairly easy to qualify for
it could pay you up to $35 per hour
and it's related to analyzing ads.
4.2 out of five stars,
they have very good scores
from people who have actually worked here
because they are a full-time company
that's gonna give you a full-time hour schedule.
3.8 out of five stars for their benefits here.
And this is one you will probably have to interview at
instead of just taking a test.
You will have a test,
but then you usually have to interview afterwards.
2.9 out of five difficulty,
44% positive compared to 39% negative
for the interview experience,
which all of that is fairly average in terms of scoring.
