Saweetie Speaks On Supporting Asian Culture At The 'See Us Unite For A Change' Event In Los Angeles

um the reason why i'm here today is just support asian heritage month my mother is filipino chinese and i think it's just important for my fans and my supporters see me take a stand for something that represents something so positive i think the aapi community is in need of just love and support especially with the unfortunate circumstances a lot of you know people have faced throughout this year during quarantine and you know it's important for people to unite for something that supports just humanity i mean we're all humans we all have the same blood so let's take a stand and really just support those who need it this cause is super important to me because my mother is of asian heritage she is filipino chinese and i just i love being a part of something that really changes shifts and gives light to what really needs awareness for the culture and right now the aapi community has just faced so many just hurt loss and if i can i think the fame and everything that comes with it is cool but what really matters is using my platform to spread awareness so that's why i'm here tonight one thing that i want people to take away from the show tonight is just the love and the unity that will just be showcased throughout the night i know a lot of my peers have worked really hard i've worked really hard to put on a great show and just to bring awareness for a topic that needs a lot of attention so hopefully they can walk away with a sense of happiness and pride especially for all my asian icy boys and my icy girls out there people can get involved by visiting csunite.org and that is s-e-e-u-s-u-n-i-t-e dot org
