The Reason We’re Not Flying Back To UK (staying in Philippines)

idea to actually stop counting a lot of different lens today a zoom lens we decided that may be a good idea to stop counting before it drives us crazy so anyway welcome to the vlog welcome to our box I hope you're doing well in your box where you might have a big box you might have small box I don't know what I'm talking about now I saw the comments sort of comments in the last vlog guys but today are no got empty all this stuff oh oh it was all going so well I still wear as well okay I was about to say I've been a good house husband and a bum some tours this morning and done some laundry believe it or not I saw the comments in yesterday's vlog George how do you not know how to use a washing machine George how do you know not know the difference between the tumble dryer and a washing machine George Howell have you got this far in life without doing laundry guys I have done some laundry before I just haven't used a very wonky I just haven't used this machine much lucy is once again they all main new tick tocks 5 up today already no way so what is it about tick tock what do you like about tick tock it's fun to watch yeah I agree I can't do it myself though I got you the guys worry we're here with you we can do it we can carry on today's today's lunch now this is usually a light baby surprise I mean because Lucy's has a nose break it's chat very good cook very good preparer of food today's lunch appears to be wraps chicken cheese barbecue salt any vegetables all and vegetables there's this fly it's followed me there was this fly in the bedroom I don't stink I've showered there's this fly that was in the bedroom but flying around my face tiny and it's come back out content isn't talking about insects they're in our apartment like come on they can't be that bored you're right it's day 8 I know it's a day 8 guys comment below what you're doing on day 8 we're gonna go live later we're gonna go live we're going to do live time on the Facebook group and we're gonna add some questions that's what we're going to do [Music] we're currently chilling guys I'm gonna close this door I'm not gonna close it all the way because imagine if we got stuck out here and leave it open no bet see this is actually the first time we've ever done this and both set out here on the balcony so this is actually really really nice we just watch sunsets quite dark now but we do get a really really nice city view here nice to chill out here right hello yeah I mean as you can see Lucy's she's tall but she's not crazy tall and she's pretty much squished you have long legs you're pretty much squished and there's not like there's not a lot of room here but is plenty would you I that's true it's true I mean ideally there be space for a barbecue out there I mean little grilling grilling space in the middle here I'll put the camera on the floor I can't work out from the screen I'll call you can see like the building's up stair I can't work out just from this screen if it's a really weird angle if it or if it looks like I'm on the toilet or something looking at you but we're gonna roll I know but we're gonna roll with it for a second because it's all so we've got we don't have a little table out here to put the camera on yeah we wanted to quickly talk about the reason because we've been asked this a few times now and we wanted to just there enough light on me bit too much maybe I mean that's good it's like a speed it's like a spooky night timey thing maybe I just [Music] ass good look at that light we've been asked few times now about why we decided to stay here in the Philippines in Manila during this whole quarantine thing during the whole lockdown prepare a ditch in the spooky weird toilet angle guys so I'm gonna talk about a few reasons that I think are the reasons that we decided to stay here and then Lucy's gonna give her take on it but the number one for me was purely the fact that there are less cases here in the Philippines or virus going around so the cases started coming out waste slower here we would get reports back from the UK that there were more and literally just looking at numbers and statistics it seemed better for us to be here in Manila yeah I mean it's a weird one because our families were like okay there and if you have the choice to come home right now would you come home and we would like to be honest with you know like not just on route to our families but the way things are being done here in terms of yours we've got our temperature checked for like two over two weeks now going into anymore the meter distance apart in the supermarkets the anti hoarding thing where you're only like to have a certain amount of products in the supermarket and the fact that things are actually being closed like as soon as there's cases here it was like right let's do something so it seems that there's a lot more being done here and these people are taking it a lot more seriously here and in the UK it feels like a little bit more like gray area a bit like oh you shouldn't do that but people are it seems like less is kind of being done there so I do feel safer here deaf and obviously cuz the amount of cases but also the measures that are being taken to something from spreading the fact it's hot weather hair as well apparently it's harder to spread so being in the colder UK whether it be more chance of especially getting the virus and then if we did actually go home then we will get to see anyone anyway we'd have self quarantine anyway because we've been through airports and stuff and been traveling and so we'd have to just stick in one room anyway yeah and as you guys know from these videos we're taking this very seriously and yet if we went home it would always be like torture for our minds because we would have to stay in one room and as you also know from watching the videos whenever we'd go home to the UK and the main reason 99% of why we go home is well pretty much hundred cent why we go home it is to visit family that's it so if we were in the UK and like mono ten minutes away from my grandparents and I couldn't see them or like five minutes around the corner from my parents house whatever it is and you couldn't physically go and see them and spend time with them hug them and stuff that would be like torture so it would be even worse obviously there's other practical reasons like actually getting through airport it was super busy super crazy with all the lockdowns and the airlines shutting off the airport shutting off there was a window that we could have gone home the cost of leaving and then coming back being able to make videos I don't know if we would have been out today vlog if we were just in in one bedroom just stuck in one bedroom yeah we can move around the apartment during the day we got the balcony after leaving that's the other thing we couldn't get back here because the UK has got a load more cases if the Philippines in goes oh anyone from the UK can't come back because it's like a high case commentary I mean I don't think it is that yet but if it carries on the way it is yeah is crazy we were planning on going back to see our family in a few months anyway because that's generally the time of year that we do it all that's what we did last year hadn't actually booked anything luckily because Perry has some people who had nightmares actually getting refunds a lot of airlines have put it onto credit obviously they want to keep the cash because they might go under if they give every fund so luckily we're not in any situation like that where we have flights books but now we don't even know when we can go and visit our family so that's a weird feeling in itself we're hoping this gets I'm still optimistic I'm a very optimistic person I'm hoping this'll all improve and everything will get lifted when they said it will even earlier maybe but we just have to wait we literally just have to wait I want to say a huge thank you to you guys I'm super super proud of this community I was reading through comments and people aren't only commenting things Lucy and I threw out for Lucy and I to read on the vlogs but people are kind of putting their own stories in the comments and then other people are jumping in there and having a conversation and replying to those quarters there's like all these little mini threads going on within our comments so that was super cool tureen had to redo that last night so keep that up guys even chatting to a stranger even chatting to a stranger in these times so when you've never spoken to before different side of the world different set of a whole different life everything's different but this one thing is kind of bringing us together so that's actually really nice to see so keep the heart don't know where I was gonna help that was gonna be my job why why are they gone - oh I don't know [Music] delicious broccoli tagliatelle cheesy thing from this evening I must give the British people a very simple instruction you must stay at home because the critical thing we must do to stop the disease spreading between households that is why people will only be allowed to leave their home for the following very limited purposes the UK to now officially in lockdown just an hour ago that came out Boris Johnson Prime Minister has told people to stay indoors stay at home only go out for shopping so very very similar situation now for our families back home as it has been here for us already for about a week so there's actually the next day we're filming another vlog today the next video you see on the channel guys is going to be a bit of a fun one we've spoken a lot about what's going on the video we're filming today which is the next day from what you've just been watching
