To celebrate the launch of Kevin Hart's new plant based restaurants, Hart House, James unveils a table of plant based foods that wouldn't end up on anyone's menu. Each take turns asking each other tough questions and are given a choice: answer honestly or eat whatever is in front of them.
Okay, now Kevin, the reason we're playing this is your newest business venture
is a 100% plant-based fast food restaurant called Heart House. Now obviously, Heart House's menu
only serves the most delicious plant-based items and in front of you, you can see that we at the
show have taken a different route. We have created an assortment of food concoctions that are all,
each and every one of them, 100% plant-based but also 100% disgusting. So here's how it works. I'm
going to ask you a question, you can either choose to answer it or sample one of the foods in front
of us. We've got things like, in front of you there is a salty soyrizo and seaweed smoothie.
Wait till you smell, wait till you smell the yeasty ham parfait, which in the history of playing
different iterations of this game is the worst thing I've ever smelled. Alright, so the food I
will choose for you, I'm going to give you this, the flaming hot wet cheese. No need to give me that.
Now what I can tell you this, this is of course all plant-based, a block of cheese in a bowl with hot
sauce and gherkins. Oh, okay. Yeah. All right. Okay. It doesn't matter. I'm gonna answer. Well, smell it.
I don't want to smell it. I just want to answer it. Go ahead. Don't want to just smell it a little bit?
I don't want to even smell it at all. Come on. Come on. Nope. Nope. Bring it on. You just want to hear the
question. Yeah, give me the question. Here it comes. Don't think you're gonna read it. Here it comes. Five foot four.
Is that it? That's my truth. That's my truth. That's my truth. That's my truth. Okay. All right.
Okay. Here's the first question. Oh, God. Here's the first question. Okay. You ready? Oh, God. Kevin.
How much did you get paid for Jumanji the next level?
It's an unbelievable question.
That's the sequel. What do I have to do? To the incredibly successful Jumanji. So I imagine
in terms of a negotiation, you're your strongest really. I mean, I can't make it without you.
You know what? Okay. You know, look.
If I had to do a rough guess. See, I'm a back-end player. So it's not about what you
take up front. I don't want up front money for the movie. So I took less money in hopes that
the movie would find amazing success because I'm a good partner. Because I think you made 800 million
dollars. I don't know. I don't know. The numbers. Tomato, tomato. Listen.
Because of the success of the movie, you know, overall, you're probably in the space of,
you know, I don't know, probably like 20 out of 30. Probably like 20 out of 30 if you put it together.
Between 20, between 25 to 30, I would say. Million dollars.
But that is not a Kevin Hart success. That is a studio success. The good thing about being a
real partner is you want your studio to be successful. So Sony being a real partner at the
time, they did an amazing job marketing and promoting and that allowed all the cast members
to find success in this particular movie. It's not just one. It's all of our success.
Yeah. That's right. All right. Yeah. Yeah. Just make sure you understand it's all of us.
Okay. Okay. So Kevin, you, your questions, they'll be first to choose. You have to choose
what you want me to eat. So what would you like to choose? Can I move? Yes. What would you like
me to take? Well, just choose one. You know, I'm used to him. Exactly. The one I just said was
gross. Okay. Okay. I think I might throw up, man. All right. Here we go. Ask me the question.
Here we go. That is so I can't go on. Oh, wow. All right. Here's a question for you. I want you
to rank these movies of mine from, uh, from best to worst. Okay. Right. I want you to be honest
with me. Okay. Cause I'm assuming that you've seen all these movies because you're, you're
a friend and a fan of my work. Get hard, central intelligence and ride along. I have seen get hard.
Oh, I'll tell you why. Why? Because you were on the third episode of the late, late show that we
had ever done here in the studio with Will Ferrell. And back at that point, I thought I had to watch
everything. Yes. So, so you, but I realized that you about 50 shows later that you can just tell
people that you loved it and they'll believe you. All right. Best of worst. Well, listen, the truth
is you don't need me to say that they're all masterpieces. All right. Okay. But you've asked
me to rank. Yeah. So they, they're still above citizen Kane. Good fellas. Okay. All right. You
know, on a long list, still a bar. Yeah. I'm still up. I'm on. So I will go central intelligence.
Okay. As the best get shorty. No ride along, ride along, ride along. Okay. And get hard.
Best to worst, but they are all still amongst the greatest examples of film.
I mean, I can accept that. I just don't, I don't know how Will Ferrell would feel about you putting
get hard last, but it's none of my business. All right. Okay. Kevin, what should I give you here?
I am going to give you, I'm going to give you this, the spicy sinus cleanser skewer.
Okay. Kevin, here it is. Kevin, besides your own companies, you are also known to have invested in
other businesses, including an energy drink, a health and fitness program and a car buying app.
What is the worst business investment you are currently involved in?
The worst business investment that I'm currently involved in
is the business of investing in your friends.
You never want your friends to feel like their ideas are not good ideas,
but thus far, these ideas have been a endless pit of bankruptcy.
The ventures, the ventures that my friends have made me put money into
have never worked. I think the worst, the worst one that probably invested into one of my friends
had headphones that they created that opened up into speakers.
They were headphones and you can enjoy it like this, but then if you wanted to make everybody
else, the whole purpose of the invention, this is what it told me, they say, you know,
like when people listen to music and you go, what are you listening to? And people always got to
make you put on the headphones. They said with these, they just open up. Yeah. That's the worst
invention I've ever put money into. Wow. Yes. Wow. Headphones that open up and become speakers.
All right, Kevin, my turn. Choose a food. You know what I'm going to go? You know what I'm
going to go on? I'm going to go to lousy loaded fries because I don't want to. Oh, okay. Lousy
loaded fries. This is French fries covered in pistachio butter, shrimp and raisins. Okay,
let's see what this is. All right. One of these smells are really messing with you. It's real bad.
All right. All right. Number two question for you. Today's your birthday. Yeah. I'm curious.
What is the worst gift that someone gave you today? I know you've received a lot of gifts.
By the way, you're on set. Your staff is here. No way. All these gifts are good gifts. As a
matter of fact, 70% of these gifts are horrible gifts. I'm just, I don't know whether that just.
Yeah. Oh, you probably got a tie. You probably got some socks. I don't know because I don't
want the person or peoples who bought it for me to be offended. But they would. That's the purpose
of the question. That's the purpose of the question. But then I don't know if the people
that bought it for me ever actually saw it. So I can tell you my agents here in Los Angeles,
they bought me a backpack, which made me question whether we'd ever met before.
It was an expensive backpack from a very good shop store. It looked expensive,
but it was like, it was what I would like, like a 14 year old backpack. What would you have said
if it had speakers on it? So it will be that. It would be that. It would be, it would be that.
That's a horrible gift. All right. What are you choosing for me? Okay. Kevin, I'm going to give
you this one. Creamy plant-based tuna pudding, which is. This doesn't even make sense. Pudding
and chunks of tuna with a cinnamon stick and a fish egg garnish. Okay. All right. Here we go.
Oh, okay. Question three. Kevin, you've starred alongside Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black and Nick
Jonas. Rank their acting abilities from best to worst. I think you've got to eat.
Hang on. There's a spoon. There's a spoon down there. There's a spoon down there if you want it,
because you know, we're all hoping Jumanji three is around the corner.
I mean, at the end of the day, everybody's a professional actor.
Everybody's made it. So if I were to do it, it's not like it's disrespectful.
These are my co-stars and I will not let you divide Jumanji like this. Okay.
I will not let them do it. I will not let you do it. You selfish son of a bitch.
You're trying to destroy a franchise is what you're trying to do.
These are good people.
How was it? Oh my God. I almost let it go. No, I'm serious. I really, I had like a little
a wrench. Yeah. Like a little bit, little, little, little teeny piece came out.
Little teeny piece. Well, you did great. You did great. It's my turn now. So you can choose
a food for me. Go for it. What's the nasty on this damn table? Go, go, go to flaming hot.
Okay. Okay. It's only right that I return a favor, right? You're in a nice setting here.
It's a beautiful, beautiful time for you. The world of late night has always been amazing.
A lot of your counterparts play in this space, by the way,
right? These late night hosts from the best of the worst.
Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel.
Nice young guy like yourself on the block doing well. It's a good idea for you to say who's good.
Who's bad going to come off. Good. I will not let you
destroy what is a, is it one of the Jimmy's? Would you say one of the Jimmy's
a beautiful brotherhood who have been nothing but beautiful and supportive to me. You think
it's Kimmel? They are lovely to me. Every single one of them. Oh God. Oh God. That was disgusting.
We'll be right back everybody.
