Old masters such as Rembrandt used a wide range of colours for their shadows. It is rare to see shadows that are pitch black or dark grey in their paintings. In this video, the various shades of green in the shadows accentuate the bright green leaves in the sunlight. The shadow in the video is not black; if you were to lift (brighten) the shadows in the colour panel of the video editing software, the colours would appear. I think this is a great video to analize the natural coulours in the shadows.
