Opting for these smooth, predictable surfaces helps mitigate many of the risks associated with rougher, unprepared landing zones. The result? Greater efficiency and spacecraft reusability. Dream Chaser can be turned around for another mission faster, and its runway landing makes it easy to immediately retrieve sensitive cargo or attend to medical emergencies.
