Jean-Paul Laurens (1838–1921): French Salon Narrative and Historical Drama

Jean-Paul Laurens was one of the more popular French artists among painters and the Salon public of his day. He employs superb drawing skills and an admirable work ethic which he applies to the story narratives that everyone related to. The drama he unfolds in his works are without violence that was distasteful to him but the emplied realities of life with sympathies of tragic events as history tells us. A true artist and one that is being appreciated again.
