How Can I Experience That I Am Peace Itself?

When we say ‘I Am Peace’ how exactly do we get in touch with that? And since our being pervades all experience, how can we stay in touch with that peace regardless of the content of experience?
Rupert says when you say I am seeing, take the seeing away. What remains? I am. When you say I am hearing, take hearing away. What remains? I am. When you say I am feeling, take the feeling away. What remains? I am. When you remove all experience from yourself, all that remains is simply being. You become aware of yourself as you essentially are and you taste the peace of your true nature.
But you don't have to turn experience off to be aware of being aware just like it's not necessary to turn away from the movie in order to see the screen. You can be aware of yourself either in the presence of experience or in the absence of experience. It's not necessary to get rid of experience, it's just necessary to temporarily turn away from experience back to yourself.
