The Production Site at Starbase has been drawing a lot of attention recently, largely due to the ongoing demolition of the High Bay. Once a core part of SpaceX’s early Starship development, High Bay is now being removed because its size no longer meets the demands of the growing Starship program. As the vehicles become larger and production scales up, more space and advanced infrastructure are required. Once the High Bay and the Stargate area behind it are fully cleared, that space will be used for a massive new facility: Gigabay.

This new structure has been in planning for some time, and SpaceX even began hiring structural engineers specifically for its construction. Until recently, however, no official size or specification details were shared. That changed with a recent FAA document, which revealed that Gigabay at Starbase will stand at a total height of 392 feet (approximately 119.5 meters). Of that, the structural portion is 385 feet tall (or about 117.3 meters), while the remaining height likely accounts for an office section at the top.
