The Etude op. 25, No. 7 in C sharp minor is a technical study for solo piano composed by Frédéric Chopin in 1834. This Étude differs markedly from Chopin's general concept of technical virtuosity, concentrating instead on perfect tone and phrasing, especially for the left hand.

Étude Op. 25, No. 7 is also known as the "Cello" because the melody is played in the left hand. It is in lento tempo, 66 BPM according to the first German edition. Except for bars 26, 27 and 52, which contain a fast passage for the left hand, the étude is very simple and elementary in rhythm, but not in harmony. The theme is repeated four times in the course of the piece, interspersed with modulated variations of other melodies and cadences.
