Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21, was composed by Frédéric Chopin in the autumn of 1829. Chopin wrote the piece when he was around 20 years old and had not yet finished his formal education. The first performance took place on 17 March 1830 in Warsaw, Poland, with Chopin as the soloist. Although it was written first, it was the second of his piano concertos to be published (after the Piano Concerto No. 1), and so was designated as 'No. 2'.
