Sanibel Island Kayak Fishing - Sheepshead, Snook, Redfish, Trout! The first time fishing inshore on Sanibel island was an unforgettable experience. The muddy water and cloudy weather couldn’t dampen the experience of catching species of saltwater fish I’d never caught before. Multiple snook and sheepshead plus Redfish, speckled trout, snapper, Jacks I caught them all in the span of 24 hours. And this was all after Sanibel island had recently been hit hard by the red tide. I caught a slot snook and Redfish but the FWC had put a moratorium on keeping those species due to the hit they took from the redtide. The facilities at the parks and fishing areas in Sanibel are top notch and maintained and clean. I can’t wait to go back to Sanibel and put to use the knowledge I gained from this trip.
