
How Can I Remain Aware in Everyday Life?
It’s easy to remain aware of your true nature while you are in a supportive environment such as on a retreat. But what can you do to remain present as your true self when you return to your everyday life?
Rupert says: ‘My recommendation is what we do in our meditations: In the numerous pauses between all the activities that are required of you in your life – your activities, your work, your relationships and so on – just come back to your being. To begin with, you will feel that you visit your being fleetingly. But the more you go there, the more you will find yourself staying there.
‘In terms of your outer life, I recommend also aligning the work you do, the place you live and the people you hang out with. Make your life an exploration and a celebration of this understanding. That would be the ideal.’
