Disney's Beverly Hills Chihuahua was one of my favourite movies when I was younger (mostly because I loved chihuahuas, not the film itself) and so today as an adult I thought I would revisit this classic and see if it was any good. It was chaos.

what the hell what is going on hi there
Welcome to today's video where today I
am going to be discussing all things
Beverly Hills Chihuahua Now if you don't
know what Beverly Hills Chihuahua is it
is a Disney movie that was released all
the way back in 2008 and I was obsessed
with it as a kid And you know what's
better than one Beverly Hills Chihuahua
movie two Beverly Hill Chihuahua movies
How about three Beverly Hills Chihuahua
movies now since I've already made a
video about Chihuahua I thought this
would be a good follow-up and also
exploring one of my childhood films that
I probably haven't seen in over 10 years
So as a 24year-old I spent one of my
weekends watching the whole Beverly
Hills Chihuahua
trilogy How many of you guys have done
that let's start with the first movie So
Beverly Hills Chihuahua is based around
this white Chihuahua named Chloe As a
kid obviously I didn't really know much
about her but the voice actor of Chloe
in this movie is Drew
Barrymore What and she's not the only
big person in this movie Jam Lee Curtis
is Aunt Viv the owner of Chloe And now
is probably a good time to mention that
the budget of this movie was $20 million
and it made $149 million So the movie
starts off with Chloe being a very
wealthy bratty sort of dog that goes to
the salons with her besties There's a
bug bug There's a pug named Sebastian
and a Yorkie that I don't know the name
of It's not really important But in this
salon shot for some reason the pug is
sitting in like rose
water Why i definitely don't think
that's a thing for dogs If I'm wrong
sorry Sebastian it's all yours And now
the other main character of the movie is
named Papy and he is the landscaper's
dog and he's just a dirty sort of guy No
but really he just acts like a dog and
he sort of owns it He's not like this
Beverly Hills brat Chloe vibe I also
want to mention in this movie there are
a lot of quotes from Puppy that are just
kind of we're Mexican not
Mexican So inspirational And speaking of
the landscaper this guy is Sam Early on
we find out that Papy is a bit of a s
for Chloe You shine much brighter than
the sun Like he's doing everything to
jump up and try and get her attention
And Chloe's a brat Now this girl Rachel
she's Aunt Viv's niece and she kind of
has some beef going on with Chloe Like
she knows she's a brat and Chloe hates
her back There's a scene in this movie
where Rachel wakes out of bed and Chloe
just flies across the room Yeah there's
definitely tension So essentially the
plot of this movie is that Rachel has to
look after Chloe as Aunt Viv is going
overseas somewhere and can't take a dog
She's a bit irresponsible Little Miss
Rachel Out of nowhere she's like "Let's
go on a Mexican trip girls trip." And
they bring this rich dog along I wonder
what could go wrong So she gets captured
and she's put into the Mexican dog
fighting This is crazy Why is she
getting kidnapped and put into a Mexican
dog fighting thing she meets this other
guy in the cages named Delgado He is a
German Shepherd and an ex cop but we'll
find out more later Chloe gets taken and
she is put in the arena with this
massive Doberman who is definitely the
antagonist dog of the movie So
essentially Chloe gets killed in the
Mexican dog fight No she doesn't She
doesn't Okay I lied She does get killed
So they're in the ring together about to
fight Chloe and this Doberman but they
kind of just like don't get to the point
And the Doberman like rips off Chloe's
clothes Sounds gross She loses her
clothes in like mad CGI style That
happened with the real dogs It's not CGI
I take that back But look who came to
the rescue It is Delgado He bursts out
of the little cage thing and of course
breaks into the arena and takes Chloe
away They only briefly met and he just
risked his life and saved Chloe I can be
your hero baby Subtle foreshadowing And
they get away real easy because the bad
guys just don't jump a fence Like
another key thing about this movie that
they always say is that Chloe is wearing
Chanel number five I didn't realize that
is dog friendly Delgato drops Khloe off
at this fancy hotel that she kind of
says "Oh they'll know me I'll get in
easy and we'll have somewhere to stay."
And essentially Delgado sees this little
impostor in the restaurant that looks
like Chloe So he's like "Oh shucks I've
got to go." So he ditches Chloe And
Chloe didn't get accepted in the hotel
And this little dog at the restaurant
had like a black patch on his eye so it
wasn't Chloe And then Chloe was just
homeless out of nowhere And then cue the
montage I could be your hero baby All
that for nothing because they kind of
reunite 10 minutes later And here's
something that I haven't really talked
about Chloe wears this massive jeweled
up collar She says "Oh my god why is he
after me girl you've got this massive
necklace on that is like bejeweled."
There is this really annoying mouse and
lizard that kind of comes halfway
through the movie I totally forgot about
these guys until I saw them I'm like "Oh
yuck I hate them They're so annoying I
think they're really just used for a
good kid laugh but even as a kid man
just wrap it up I'm so sick of these
guys goofing around for no reason You
know how we said Chloe was stupid just a
second ago she's stupid again She gives
her massive bejeweled necklace to the
lizard and mouse and gets conned She did
this while Delgato was trying to find a
way back home for her and just gave away
her address and all her details So um
yeah Chloe stopped going home So instead
of that Delgado sends her on a train to
go back to LA Delgato wasn't going to
join
but here he is And he does this thing
like "Don't don't turn around Don't turn
around Fine I'll turn
around." I don't really think it's meant
to be his catchphrase but it kind of is
I guess there's this dirty little puppy
on this train for some reason And he
asks about her little booties because of
course Chloe is still wearing her
booties I think it's only one though She
lost a lot on the way This little puppy
was like "Ew why why are you wearing
Where are you from why are you wearing
booties where are you from?" And Chloe's
like "Oh I'm from Beverly Hills It's not
really dirty there but I like wearing
booties." And he's like "Haha that's
stupid." So Chloe chucks it off the
trade and you know what song they play i
could be your hero While this is all
going on a shopkeeper finds the collar
and is like "Oh my god I'm going to be
rich." The mouse and lizard they're just
running around the shop in like this
piñata Like seriously why back to the
train They jump off So Rachel and Sam
eventually get her collar which is
breaking news They have so many wanted
posters like everywhere This collar
popping up is a pretty big deal Delgato
opens up a little bit more to Khloe
about his ex cop experience and
essentially he lost all his smell but
everyone is just saying it's all in your
head man That's crazy But he's like me
I've lost it That skill's gone I'm sure
that won't be handy later Wink wink So
right after that they get caught by
mountain lions Imagine at the end of
this movie it just ends with based on a
true story There's some great effects
going on here and then this massive dust
pile just like comes onto the screen and
it like points down and it's like 100
Chihuahua What the hell what is going on
so these little Chihuahua save Chloe and
Delgado from the mountain lions and they
go back to these ruins that they live in
It's kind of giving cult vibes like they
all surround together and do this chant
No m They welcome Chloe and Delgado and
talk about a real Chihuahua bark
Meanwhile the Doberman is running on the
train tracks like hunting down Khloe's
scent Realistically they've survived so
much in this movie but Delgado and Chloe
fall down a waterfall I'm sorry they
should be dead I don't want them to be
dead but if they've got to be killed at
one point it's probably this Now getting
on to the end of the movie Chloe barks
at a wanted poster and she is found Just
when she's about to like go home and
settle in blah blah blah the Doberman
steals her She's a snack again And in
this time magically Delgado gets his
scent back and he's like "Sniff dish
sniff Chanel number five." And then he
runs after them Chanel number five
like mumba number five Sorry that sucked
Moving on Because he smells Chanel
number five at this point of the movie
Surely that scent has moved on She's
fallen in mud She's been in fountains
She's done everything She's lost all her
booties Surely she doesn't smell of
Chanel number five anymore They all play
tag around the ruins trying to find each
other Kind of cute I guess this is where
Khloe's true bark comes out like she was
talking to that chief guy and can we
just talk about this so she barks away
in that and the ruins start crumbling I
don't even think the Doberman can do it
Why is this little white Chihuahua who
was a brat mind you can do this bark
fast forward Chloe is dead and of course
puppy is in the ruins and he kind of
says some cringy things to wake her up
Hey how you doing love mama let me whisp
in you And then she's
like since Delgato can smell again he
becomes a cop Good on him One of the
things about this movie is that they had
so many wanted posters for Chloe But I
have no idea how Aunt Viv didn't find
out about any of this Maybe Chloe is
dumb because of her dumb owner I guess
after that cringe in the ruins Chloe
kind of comes to her senses and accepts
Puppy And now they are a couple And
speaking of couples Rachel and Sam are
now together So I guess it's the best of
both worlds And then at the end of this
film there's kind of like a where are
they now segment In the end the stupid
mouse and lizard now live in Beverly
Hills Get lost Chloe and Puppy want to
have a bunch of kids Like look how many
there are in this photo But at the very
end of this movie Puppy is like talking
to the audience which is weird But I do
like this because he says this random
statement out of nowhere If you're
adopting a pet be sure that you are
ready for a lifetime commitment and
research your choice carefully I love
that they ended the movie with that
because it's true The end
