Hi there, what can I do for you today?
I just got this budgie from the pet store and I was wondering if you can chop its wings off.
My name is Jess and I recently completed one and a half years of training as a student vet nurse
where I dealt with heaps of animal related situations.
This is part of a mini series where I'm delving deep into these stories.
Welcome to Animal Tales.
Do you mean you would like us to trim the budgie's wings?
Yes?
No?
Yes?
For clarification, a budgie, also known as a budgerigar,
is a small boy parrot native to Australia and they're cute.
Naturally, they're green and yellow in colour but they also come in a bubblegum flavour too.
Okay, bye.
Oh, that's what I meant, silly me.
Yeah, I would just like to get them trimmed
so the cheeky little troublemaker won't be able to fly around the house.
Let me take him out the back to our vet nurses and they'll get the job done for you.
Budgie, wings, need trimming.
Jess, you done this before?
Great, we will do it.
Let's get a good look at him first.
Well, that ain't good.
It's going to be a difficult one today.
Come here, little birdie.
Chirp, chirp, chirp.
Okay, Jess, he's closer to you.
You go first.
Come on, little guy.
I got him!
Okay, no one move.
Let's give him some time to catch his breath.
Birds can die from stress and rapid breathing.
One minute later.
Is it attack time?
Yes.
Oh no.
Before we find out what happens next,
I want to let you guys know about today's sponsor, Squarespace.
Squarespace is an amazing platform for building your own websites
and solidifying your personal brand.
As a YouTuber, I really appreciate their effective video block integrations,
allowing me to present video content seamlessly within my site.
Yes, that's right, my own site.
I've recently launched thewobble.club,
a website where I am currently showing off all the artworks from a previous video
if you want to see them promptly or save them for wallpapers or personal use.
I found their image grid system to be really helpful when setting this up,
with countless layout variations to choose from,
making this the perfect platform for personalized artist portfolios too.
I absolutely love how easily I could incorporate my social media platforms
into the website, making it a one-stop shop for all things Jelly Jess.

Back to the video.
I want to be a bird murderer.
This little guy cannot die.
Is there such thing as bird CPR?
But then miraculously...
What?!
Here's your bird.
Thanks for the payment and enjoy the rest of the day.
Hey again, is there a problem?
Yeah, so the pet shop gave me the wrong bird,
so I have this one in to get its wings clipped now.
Guys, it's go time!
What?!
Yeah, so this really happened.
I have no idea why the bird owner didn't look in the box before bringing him in to get clipped,
but believe me, much stranger things have happened.
I'll elaborate on those very soon.
As you can see, I wanted to switch things up a little from the usual anecdotal style,
so please let me know what you think of this new format in the comments below.
I'll still be doing the usual longer videos too, don't worry.
