獨家Tiger Shrike The Lone Ranger

The tiger shrike or Thick-billed Shrike, is a typical lone ranger. Wherever it goes, it goes alone. Compared with other shrikes, Tiger Shrikes are relatively shy and move more stealthily. But when it comes to foraging, they are all very ferocious and many small animals become their meals.

Tiger Shrikes are not residents in Singapore; they migrate here from the north during the year-end and early part of the year. In the past few months, I often heard about sightings of them. Sometimes I tried to find time to go hoping to see them, but I always came up empty-handed. Recently, I accidentally discovered it in a nearby park. It was a huge surprise. However, judging from its feather colour, this shrike is just a juvenile.
