獨家Western Hooded Pitta is Calm and Composed

The Western Hooded Pitta always exudes a calm and relaxed demeanour. It is not shy at all when encountering people. Therefore, when I learned that this little green bird had been spotted in a nearby park, I took the opportunity to visit it several times.

Its primary diet consists of various insects, but it seems to enjoy earthworms in this park. It effortlessly pulls out a long earthworm after pecking at the ground a few times. Unfortunately, I was a step too slow and failed to capture that shot.

The Western Hooded Pitta prefers to inhabit moist lowland forests, likely because food is more readily available in these environments.
