SpaceX's Dragon Launch Schedule to Complete Boeing Starliner Mission...
Remember the astronauts that were brought to the ISS on Boeing’s Starliner? Do you know how long they’ve been marooned on the station since they first boarded? Nearly nine months!
The situation has sparked plenty of controversy, and one thing is clear—they need to come home soon.
Fortunately, SpaceX is stepping in with a plan. If this happens, it would be a major embarrassment for Boeing’s Starliner program, which has remained silent about its next steps.
So when and how will SpaceX bring them back?
Let’s find out on today’s episode of Great SpaceX!
SpaceX's Dragon Launch Schedule to Complete Boeing Starliner Mission...
Until now, no one has forgotten the disappointment caused by Starliner last year. What was supposed to be an eight-day test flight has stretched into a months-long ordeal, with two astronauts—Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams—still aboard the ISS. The mission has long exceeded its intended duration, raising concerns about their prolonged stay in microgravity. Fortunately, NASA still has SpaceX’s Dragon as a reliable backup. With Boeing’s Starliner facing ongoing technical challenges, NASA has decided that the spacecraft will return to Earth uncrewed, while SpaceX’s Crew-9 will pave the way for Wilmore and Williams’ long-overdue journey home. After months of uncertainty, that day is finally approaching.

Crew-10 is now scheduled to launch on March 12 at approximately 7:48 p.m. EST. Once launched, the spacecraft will reach the ISS within half a day to a full day, where it will dock and begin a one- to two-week handover process. Following this transition, Crew-9 will undock, conduct a deorbit burn, separate its capsule from the trunk, and make a controlled parachute-assisted splashdown—marking the official end of their mission. If all goes according to NASA’s timeline, Wilmore and Williams will finally return to Earth around the end of March.
