Oh my God. Holy crap. I have to go, go, go, go. My journey around the planet begins at North America's most Northern drivable point. The plan is to ride through Canada and America before crossing over to Europe. From there, I'll make my way through the Middle East and Asia. After island hopping through Indonesia, it'll be Australia and finally New Zealand. The end of my journey will be marked by the Southern most point of the South Island. I'm calling it the big spiral and this is act two to an Alaskan beginning. Good morning. I'm a little nervous about today. Yesterday I bumped into another motorcyclist at the gas station and he happened to be camping next to me. And I told him my plans. He's like, ooh. Cause apparently along this road I want to take, it has a really, really steep pitch. That is kind of, he says it's quite hard. He says it's like a four out of five. Here, let me just show you where it is. We're down here and Farwell Canyon's up here. And right around here is something called mud lakes. Zoom in. Yeah, you get like three, basically three lakes that are called mud lakes. And after the lakes, apparently is the really steep hill and switchbacks. So maybe it's that, something like that. So I don't really know what's going to happen. So I might get there and it might be like, oh, this is fine. Or I might get there and be like, oh God, he's right. We have to go around now. So I'm in it for the adventure and I'm sure you guys are too. So let's head up there and see what we can find. Oh, maybe he's right here. I'll just say bye. I'm heading out. If you're going to go that route we talked about. Yeah, I got to go up and see what's there and yeah. Okay, well, you know, when you get to the first mud lake, there's a big pothole there. Okay. I went through it on Monday. Yep. It gets deeper and mushy. Okay. So. Go with speed. Keep your momentum up, but it gets mushy. Okay. I don't, there's no good way through it. Okay. So. All right. I'm wondering about that mud bog too, but yeah, we'll see. We'll see. Oh, what a beautiful morning. I have to say the mornings are so good because they're cool. I mean, eventually I'm going to be like, oh God, the mornings are too cold. I'm going to leave later. So that's Tyauton Lake down there. And since the general store is closed right now, so I'm going to go to Tax Lodge. So I'm thinking they should have some, some quick snacks I can buy in there. Oh, here it is. All right, let's see what I can scrounge up. Hey. Good. I'm about to head out. I was wondering if I could buy some kind of food to go. Yeah, we have like protein bars or do you want to get like breakfast to go? Like full breakfast? Could you make a sandwich? I can talk to the kitchen. Yeah. That'd be sweet. I have an extra hikers lunch ready to go. Yeah. Sounds good. Where are you going biking? I was going to head towards mud lakes. Oh, nice. Okay. And then continue from there if possible. I heard it's maybe a bit tough, but we'll see. There was a guy like last, earlier this week, who like his motorbike broke down and he was like stuck up there and I had to get him, but. Okay. Hopefully that's not you. All right. It's like pretty in the middle of nowhere. Totally. All right. Let's see what kind of trouble we can get into. Heading down, down, down. Imagine you're going to cross a creek at some point. Look at that. There's a big rock. Oh yeah. We're really down in the canyon now. Oh yeah. Bridge. Nice. Cattle guard. So if the cattle guards here, the road can't be that bad because if you're grazing cattle here, you need to have access. So, oh yeah. It's pretty in here, huh? Oh my God. So far I have to say the road is exceptional and really good. And oh, it's beautiful here. Oh, is this, maybe this is the mud lakes. I imagine they're called mud lakes for a reason. Yeah. It is a bit of a low area here. You can see it's a bit, like a bit of a meadow. Oh, here. This is a bit wet. Oh, that's maybe the puddle you're talking about. Let's go for it. Oh yeah. That was pretty deep. That was awesome. Oh, it's gorgeous here. Oh, isn't it amazing here? Oh God. Oh, another big puddle. Left side. Oh, I can see the bottom. Oh, this road is cool. Wow. This is so pretty here. Oh yeah. Don't go straight. I wonder if this is the hill he was talking about. He said I should get off and look, but at first glance, it doesn't seem bad. Oh yeah. It's pretty steep. Honestly, I don't think it's that bad, but I just gotta, you know, keep the revs up and get up there. He did say walk up and look at the corner because there's a corner up there. I'm feeling a bit lazy for that. I know I can go down this, so I tend to be better going up things. Yeah. Let's just go. All right. Bike is heavy though. Get some ramming speed. Oh yeah. Oh, I've got a bit of adrenaline going now. Oh my God. I was like, my heart's racing. Oh, now it's getting worse. Okay. Oh God. So it's exactly that kind of stuff that I like the best. It's so fun. Oh yeah. Little cowie can do it easy. Oh, I'm having so much fun. This is the kind of riding I like to do. Oh my God. It's amazing here. Oh yeah. You can see the lake down there. Oh, it's so good here. It's so good here. So this was maybe where I could get into a bit of a trouble if it's going downhill and it's similar conditions to the other side, but so far it's not bad. I'm definitely not as comfortable going downhill. It probably does not look steep at all on camera, but it's fairly steep. Yeah, it's a bit scary to ride off camber because your tire is doing two things. It's kind of keeping you on. Oh, there's a car here. It's kind of keeping you on the camber and it's also trying to brake. So yeah, see, this is exactly what I'm talking about. This V, maybe I'm just going to stay low. Oh God. The problem with a motorbike is you got a foot brake, but then when you're going slow and you kind of want to like put a foot down, you immediately, you take your foot off the brake. You know, I feel like if I let it roll, it should be okay. Okay, letting it roll, letting it roll. Oh yeah. Beauty. Into the most amazing meadow. Oh God. How lucky am I? Oh God, that one looks big. Yeah, well, I'm just going to go for it. Oh my God. Okay, my boots definitely hit that time. Oh man. This motorcycle does it all. Okay, now my pants are wet. What is that up there? What is that? It's like a bridge. Oh, where are we now? Oh God. Oh, this is a creek. Okay, it doesn't seem that deep. All right, let's see how this goes. It's not muddy at the bottom, that's a good thing at least. Okay, it was deeper than I thought. Oh my God. Am I crossing the same creek again? All right, here we go. Oh yeah. Oh my God, that's so much fun. The road is definitely deteriorating. Oh my God. Okay, let's try again. Oh, this looks so muddy. This looks really bad. Okay. I have a feeling I'm going to get so stuck in here. Oh, how deep does it get? It's really muddy in the bottom.
