In this video, I take you on a journey that feels like crossing continents but it all happens in a day. I start the morning riding through lush, tropical jungles and by sunset, I'm navigating the misty, cold peaks of the Andes. The diversity of this country never stops surprising me. It’s a ride of extreme contrasts - from sweating in the sun to shivering in the high-altitude low temps.

Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe narrator departs from Salento, Colombia, for a day of off-road motorcycling through mountains and jungles. Despite a scenic start and a desire to camp at a thermal spring, deteriorating weather and plummeting temperatures force a change of plans, leading to a search for indoor accommodation.
I must say,
so I've been here for five days in this room, that one.
Yeah, I was just working on my videos.
And every now and then I would go for a walk in the town.
Salento, at this time of the year, is awesome.
Because of the, you know, Christmas lights in the streets.
And it's rich.
The whole city's just got a really nice Christmas vibe.
I would love to go camping today.
Because it's been ages and ages.
I don't even remember when I set up my tent.
Because it's raining every day.
Things happen. So today I'll be doing
a little bit of off-road through the mountains,
hopefully, and then I'm really hoping I'll
be able to camp at the end of the day.
So I found this place.
So I don't think it's a campground, but at the property they have
thermals and maybe possibly I'll be able to camp there.
They're not the same thermals as you saw
previously. It's a different area with different thermals
and different views.
And apparently it's going to be very scenic and that sort of stuff,
so that's the plan. Let's go!
I was going to
take a picture
at the square,
but I'm not sure
if I'll be able...
I'll just
go there.
I think maybe this is the closest we can get
to the square. There's a car there, but maybe if
we just do this and take a picture quickly?
Maybe. Let's do it quickly. Okay, ready, lista!
We got a nice one.
Okay, time to move on.
Okay, Chile.
Let's keep going.
Which way, which way, which way?
I guess this way.
I don't know what's one way, what's not.
This is where the unpaved part starts.
Wait, Chile, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
La Florida.
Uh-huh.
Whoa, I think you need a new battery.
This way.
La Florida.
Through the hills, through the jungle, we just go on the ride today.
I'm in such a good mood today.
I think because I had this resting time and I'm on top of my work.
So I'm not too stressed out.
My videos are ready for posting
so you can watch it on Monday and Wednesday.
Okay, here we go and down,
down, down, down, down, down,
down, down, interesting.
Interesting trees.
What are they?
What are they?
I don't know.
But there's a lot of them here.
That's a nice little...
Don't know what tree.
Forest.
Those leaves. Those
that are hanging.
I swear. They're like
three meters long.
I want to take a picture.
Stay. Chili. Oh la la.
You are in the jungle, mate.
So long.
Beautiful plants.
And here we have
a river down below.
I think
that we're going to
have a river crossing here now. I think.
It's so relaxing to go through a jungle like this.
You've got a shade. Look at that. Look at that.
Actually, this reminds me so much of Australia.
It's probably because every now and then I see a gum tree.
Yeah.
Okay, now river crossing, we got a bridge.
Too easy.
Woo-hoo-hoo!
This way?
This way.
Wow, look at that.
Nature.
The vegetation here is so tall.
Those mountains, they are very scenic.
This is kind of a major intersection according to my GPS.
Right or I'll go left.
Those roads, like there's so many little
roads around here in the mountains.
Those hills, people are farming stuff, so they have
to go all the way up to farm, to harvest, to do...
Really?
I think we need a new battery.
Okay, let's keep going.
Like, you can touch it.
Bye!
Bye!
Awesome road, I love it. It's just hikers and villagers on it.
Hola, buenas.
Leaves.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Creek.
A bit wet here.
Some kind of cascadas probably coming down.
I don't look down. Honestly you can
be in this region for weeks exploring
those little roads. There's so many options here
and they're so enjoyable, twisty, up and down
with a nice nature around. Cool bananas.
Here we have farming lands,
very hilly and behind there
higher mountains, picturesque.
And temperature is perfect I must say.
It's only 21 degrees now so it's a perfect temperature for riding.
And this way,
this way.
Buenas!
And we have made it to La Florita, a small village.
Wow, it's busy but it's Monday. Why are there so many people here?
What's going on? Is there something I don't know
or something I need to know about?
Some kind of market on Monday? I think it's just
because it's Christmas coming, that's why.
Right,
well apparently there's
supposed to be a road here.
Let's try this road
and the river crossing.
Chilly Chilly
You're gonna get wet.
Okay, that was easy.
This section
is quite twisty.
It's getting rougher
and quite twisty.
Very stony road.
A little bit
of mud. Clearly
they had some rain.
Oh
Oh
my
god.
Where
are
we?
Rocks
again.
And now we're doing downhill.
Oh my
goodness,
so many rocks.
These people live truly like in the mountain road.
Oh, this is what
we should be doing
right now, Chile.
I mean, not you, me, swimming.
There's a lot of people swimming there,
some people there.
I wish, but there is no camping option here,
so we have to keep going.
And I'm gonna just like undress myself and go.
Into the river. No this is not the way I roll.
Okay well well well okay let's let's let's focus
let's focus. Let's just get to those thermals.
85 kilometers two and a half hours. Welcome to
Colombia. Oh well we'll get there.
Hopefully we'll be able to camp there.
So long beautiful river.
And we're back
to pavement.
Oh we have a nice view
of the city and any
moment now see like
you see that road there literally it's like
a whole round thing just go around i don't know why
oh we're very up high okay we're about
to start our look we're gonna
end up right there okay here
we go we have a tunnel first on all yeah
and out of the tunnel we're starting
our round thingy
round road this is so good look
at this it's like you're riding
in a cloud so cool to do on the bike
And we finished our round thing. That's it.
We did a whole round. Look. You know what I mean.
This doesn't look good.
I was going to do some off-road
to the thermals through
these mountains.
Like literally it's just there that road
but it looks like there's like a heavy rain ahead of us.
So I'm gonna stick to the pavement for now
and try to find a different place to camp. Yeah.
Totally it's raining though.
Oh no, this is where we're supposed to go chilly today.
Let's be positive.
Maybe it's not gonna rain.
That's a different
landscape.
I feel like we're
very high. I just
don't know how high
because it's only 10 degrees.
I don't think I'll be camping today. Oh wow, look at it.
It's like Kyrgyzstan.
I don't know, it just reminds me of Kyrgyzstan or Switzerland.
Some of the hills
in Switzerland
look like that.
It's raining.
And it's seven degrees.
Aye, aye, aye, chilly.
We had such a nice start of the day,
and now it's a bit cooly.
But I'll say this road is very beautiful.
If only I had better visibility.
And it was dry.
So I guess we have to find a room now,
because my gear is wet, so we're not camping.
Plus, we're not camping in seven degrees.
No way.
And in the rain.
No way.
I'm not that extreme. We're here to have a good time, right?
Oh, it's getting worse. I'd like to stop now and put overalls.
I have this place marked in like 5k, so I'm just gonna get there.
Pork!
Una avisación para una noche.
Okay, gracias. Sorry, I don't know.
There is like a... it says hotel and campsite.
It's sort of like a farm.
Recepción? Okay, gracias.
Okay, here we have a reception.
Let's ask. It's a nice location.
I wouldn't be so desperate if it didn't rain so much.
We got a little bit further, but hey, I'm very cold. It's six degrees.
How are you?
Ma'am, this is an habilitation
for 270.
Settenta, oh.
Oh, that's a lot.
Okay, thank you.
It's a little bit steep. It's nearly like $70.
So, we keep going.
If they had thermals, I would stay,
but they don't have thermals. Gracias. Adios.
