This may come as a shock to you if you've followed my channel for a while,
but I think I'm actually preferring my night routine over my morning routines.
And I think it's just because after a long day of working,
even though I don't work a nine to five job,
I usually do work eight to nine hours a day on content and my small business.
And so when that clock hits five p.m.
or maybe six p.m., some nights, I am ready to close my laptop,
wind down, log off, maybe write a few to do so I don't forget them before tomorrow,
but try to take the rest of the evening to refill my battery so that I'm able
to go again the next day and feel my best without burning out.
So like the TikTok trend, here it is on YouTube.
My five to nine after work routine.
My first step that just signifies it's time to wind down
and relax is lighting my evening unwind candle from homesick.
I actually place this in my bathroom so I can see it while I'm showering
and it just puts off the best ambiance, the best vibes.
Highly recommend having a candle that you just light in the evening.
And then if I'm coming back from a workout or just want to cool down after the day,
I will hop into my shower.
Here's the products I've been using recently.
The Living Proof Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner.
I've been really enjoying that.
And this Vegamour Scalp Massager.
You just put it over your scalp, rub it in with your shampoo, and it feels so good.
Then the Anti-Stress Dove Body Wash and the Curology Face Wash.
You guys know I've been using Curology as my main skincare for years.
And in the nighttime, I like to exfoliate some days.
So I will use the Vanity Planet Exfoliating Brush Head.
So when I get out of the shower, I'll put on either pajamas,
just comfy clothes or my SKIMS robe. So good.
I recently bought the Necessaire Body Lotion and I love it for summer.
It's so light.
So I've been loving putting that on my skin all over right after the shower.
So then I'll just take away any residue with my little reusable
cotton rounds from Curology and then the second step in the skincare system.
And then I realized I needed to do a little
razoring, shaving, whatever you want to call it.
But I take these mini facial razors, microderm, blades, whatever you want to call them.
They're great for peach fuzz, sideburns.
I even use them on my eyebrows
because I haven't been able to get to a threading appointment.
Don't take my advice, but it's just what I do.
Then my skin has been feeling a little dry, actually,
which is weird since it's summer.
But I use the Summer Fridays Face Oil and that feels so good,
makes your skin so glowy.
And then the Curology moisturizer to finish off my skincare.
My favorite lip balm is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.
I've gone through, I think, three tubs of this,
but this tub has lasted me seven months because this is the gingerbread flavor.
And I think that's crazy, but I will need to get a new one soon.
And then it's time to start making dinner.
I do make dinner usually five times a week,
five to six times, and just get dinner out on the weekends.
And tonight I wanted something that was easy, but still healthy and yummy.
And so I just use these heat up frozen
chicken tenders from Trader Joe's and made those in the air fryer.
And then I was making a Greek bowl, so I also wanted to air fry some chickpeas.
So I threw those in the air fryer as well.
And then it was time to cut up some vegetables.
So I have been obsessed with cucumber recently.
I'm sure this has a name, but I just call it right now.
cucumber tomato salad.
I cut up some cherry tomatoes with the cucumber.
I add white wine vinegar, but I didn't have any,
so I added olive oil, and then some sea salt
and this green goddess seasoning from Trader Joe's.
I mix it all in there and let that sit,
and I just top my Greek bowl with that.
So our air fryer was all done,
so it was time to put the bowl together.
Again, I love super easy meals,
and even though this had a few steps,
I still choose the easy way out,
like the pre-made chicken and also the rice
from Trader Joe's that you heat up in the microwave,
and then just add it all into the bowl.
And then I added feta cheese
and a little bit of tahini dressing on top,
and it was so good, so filling,
and pretty good for you too.
I have been and always will be a TV gal.
I love watching TV shows and whole movies by myself
on any given weeknight or weekend,
and so I'll usually sit down at my couch
or my dining table and watch whatever show I'm watching,
but tonight I also went to the movies
with my friend Skylar.
We went to see where the Crawdads sing.
I think it's fun, especially in the summer,
to get out on weeknights, fun on weekdays,
and to change up your routine every now and then.
So whenever I'm done with watching my shows
or hanging out with friends,
I get home and I will tidy up a bit.
I'll do the dishes, put stuff in the dishwasher,
and even though my apartment's not always perfectly clean
when I go to sleep,
I also will tidy up in the morning right when I wake up.
I definitely do not leave any dirty dishes
in the sink or food out
because I know leaving food out on the counter
is gonna attract bugs,
and also I'm in a studio apartment,
and so if my kitchen starts to stink,
the whole apartment will stink.
Then it's time to set my alarm for the next morning.
Just from six to 7 a.m. is usually when I wake up,
and it all depends on when I go to sleep.
Then I put my phone on do not disturb sleep mode
so only those emergency contacts can text me or call me.
Throughout the night,
and I get no other notifications, which I love.
And then my last step for the night
is getting under the covers with a good book.
This is what finally calms me down,
not being on my phone, not getting notifications.
I'm really able to just focus in on the fiction story,
and it's so good for my brain
because even though I try not to work
once I close my laptop at five or six,
sometimes I do have to respond to messages, edit something,
talk to my manufacturer who's overseas.
So this is the time where it's like,
okay, no other work or contacts.
It's just me winding down,
and it's honestly one of the best parts
I've put into a nighttime routine in the past six months.
My bed is so comfortable,
and so I just feel so amazing getting into bed every night.
And that was my five to nine to 10 to 11,
you know, five to sleeping routine.
I hope you guys enjoyed it.
And let me know if you wanna see a morning version.
I'll talk to you guys soon.
Good night.
