HIGHLIGHTS | Real Betis Sevilla vs. Atlético de Madrid (Liga F 2024-25 Matchday 13)

The next match January the 11th against another Madrid club, Madrid CFF. We're underway, Real Betis in the traditional green and white, Atletico Madrid in the changed all blue. Atleti with the corner, it's going to be an outswinger towards the penalty spot. Driven corner and then the shot first time off target from Silvia Lloris who was forwards and a previous goal before that came in Seville. A 2-1 win away to Sevilla. Here's Betis now on the front foot, Neymar almost played back in. My colour, arm and goal and the flag has stayed down here. Atletico Madrid are in behind, it's a lovely little lob and Atletico Madrid take the lead. Tucked away by Gio the Brazilian and a bit of Brazilian style about the finish as well. Real Betis caught with their defensive line far too far up the field and Gio taking full advantage to net her second goal for Atletico Madrid and they've won it back again. Jenson after this one, just force wide though by Roberts, tows it back to the edge of the penalty area and the deflected shot from Bourissa. Dominant force in the midfield areas in the opening quarter of an hour, Vilda Bourissa, Jenson, Medina, now Schäler in behind, Vidosso quickly off the line and did well. Made the angle difficult for the Atletico Madrid centre forwards. Gio with the header, now Esther, did well to dig across out from there, it was a good delivery from Esther. Gabi heads it on, Medina clears it away only as far as Hemer. Rosa Marquez shifted out by Carroll, Esther's ball in but straight into the midriff of Lola Gallardo. Promising move again from Real Betis. Here's Bourissa, it's a good challenge by Carla, what a worker she is off the ball as well as very effective when in possession of it. Jenson, Jenson plays it through, Atletico in behind and Vidosso did really well to deny Gio. Press from Atleti has been too good for Real Betis to play through, have to go over the top of it. Here's Medina, Rosa Marquez, now Carla, twisting and turning, goes for goal and wasn't too far away. Still not officially a shot on target but it's as close as Real Betis have come. Dorena forward, Roberts in there, Jimenez all effective in the air, it's driven in towards Dorena and it wasn't too far from getting a nod on that, Silvia Lloris putting it behind for a corner. It's called her first goal for Real Betis since the move from Italian side Roma in the summer. Here's Esther, good delivery in, the header on, Betis have an equaliser. That was from Esther and for once they got the ball in early and Carroll was on the end of it to head in and with 15 minutes to go it is Real Betis 1, Atletico Madrid 1. Well Zouhir was brought on to add more firepower but it's Carroll who pops up with the header. Now Lauren, Maratha, back with Lauren again, Maratha with the cross in, Gio rising for the header, loose ball picked up by Medina who sends it back into the centre towards Schäler. She was fighting for it, Carroll the goal scorer gets it away but here's Maratha and Fiamma got a toe to that. Mert Vidoso grabs the loose ball. Well if it finishes like this it would be a third successive league draw for Atletico Madrid. Claire who began her career at Malaga, here's Carroll inside the last 10 minutes. Now Carla, can she get the shot away here? Goes on the outside, makes the angle difficult, clips it back across and it wasn't too far away. Medina clears, heart in mouth time for Atletico Madrid. Here's Carla at the other end, lovely little step over and clipped it towards the back post. Gallardo did well just to pour it away. Tatiana Pinto's come on a 30 year old, vastly experienced Portuguese international. Atleti playing themselves into trouble. 2-1 Real Betis. Five minutes to go and Neymar finishes it off and Real Betis can well be on course here for an unlikely victory against Atletico Madrid. Well they only have themselves to blame here, it was their own throwing that they made a real hash off and what about the finish from Neymar? Victor Martín will be absolutely fuming at the way that they conceded that second goal from their own throwing. Here's Luani, touch off from Pinto, here's Gio, Neymar with the challenge, cross into the box, Vidoso did well to grab it and keep hold of it. Desperation times now for Atleti, Fiamma looking across to the assistant on this near side and suggesting she was pushed and their first domestic defeat that hasn't involved Barcelona. Otamien straight at the goalkeeper and grabs it Vidoso at the second attempt. Atletico Madrid not happy about something, the yellow card is out here I think for Dorena. Well a bad try by Otamien straight at the goalkeeper, Vidoso needing two attempts to grab the ball and then the forwards just descended on her. Dorena did well actually defending her goalkeeper. That's the whole of the back three now on yellow cards for Real Betis. Dorena's header, Rosa Marquez helps it on, it is a first ever top flight win for Real Betis against Atletico Madrid who are beaten for just the second time this season.
