Women Football - HIGHLIGHTS | Real Madrid vs. Deportivo Abanca (Liga F 2024-25 Matchday 22)

Waiting for the match director to give us the go-ahead. Real Madrid in their traditional white in the dark kit. Deportivo A Coruña with the kick-off. La Coruña, the city they're from up in the north-west of Spain is A Coruña. She's 16 years of age when she made her debut. At the age of 16 today, Irene Terralo making her full debut. Really expecting that to come through there, he hasn't he? Got rid of it quickly, Antonio helped it on. On the right-hand side, no goals here in the early stages. Sheila Garcia, ball forward. Looked like it might not come to anything. Camacho might have different ideas. Cleared just before De Castillo can get there. A little bit lax defending. Good battling from the youngster, Carla Camacho. Probably goes down as a shot on target. The most famous names in Real Madrid history, of course. About 8km or so from the Santiago Bernabeu. Or it might come free. Not the greatest of shots, I have to say. From the Brazilian, Antonio. Yet to score this season. Two seasons in the top flight before this season for Deportivo. And she was there for both of them. Scored 11 times in her 49 appearances for Deportivo. That's a poor pass out of defence. Oh, second time. Went straight to the youngster, Irune. Now into De Castillo, against her old side. Drags it wide, how she would have loved that. On her best side on the left. 24-year-old, could not convert. Five goals already for her this season. Dragged that one wide. Very young side, real youthful feel about Deportivo. The penalty area. And the referee has given a penalty kick, I think. Right on the edge of the area. Points to the spot. The Brazilian can't believe it. Melene, we saw, went down. A little earlier. And one Brazilian on another. We'll see Barcelona fans will be hoping this one goes in. Midway through the first period. Rodriguez scores. Olaya Rodriguez, 19 years of age. Showed all the composure of a player much more her senior. And converts the penalty. What a good penalty it was too. Controversial award. They haven't had too many going for the decisions in this first half. But they got the all-important one. Let's continue, shall we? Still 1-0 to Deportivo. A bit of a surprise, to say the least. But a long way to go. Eight minutes until half-time. Now an opportunity. Del Castillo. Defender gets back. But the header still from Camacho. Didn't get enough on it. And glanced it wide. Really good work from Ateneo Del Castillo on the left. Said they hadn't been creating many chances. Del Castillo's looked as dangerous as anyone in creative capacity. Should have scored by herself. Lovely outside of the boot cross. Camacho. Another set-piece specialist. Toletti. On now. One of the two. French win brought on at half-time along with Lacroix. It will be Toletti. It's a good effort. And the keeper can't keep it out. Eight minutes into the second half. The substitutes cross. Really a bit of a mistimed jump. The first mistake she's made from Pereira. And just ended up punching it into her own net. Real Madrid. Level. After 53 minutes and a huge relief. Fifth season now with Real Madrid. 28 league appearances. Let's just check in there for Olga Kimona. Still in her early 20s. Some record. Chance of a cross. Oh, headed into her own net. Incredible own goal. From the Brazilian who gave away the penalty in the first half. Antonio can't believe it. And neither can Real Madrid fans. I can hear the cheers in Catalonia. And look at his joy. As Deport in their relegation struggle. Get a huge gift here. Out of nothing. 16, 17 minutes into the second half. They restore their lead. And lead 2-1 at mighty Real Madrid. Not even sure it should have been a penalty. But it gave the platform from which. You could. Cause more problems. Raquel getting it away. Everyone behind the ball. All 11 women now as. Wave after wave of Real Madrid. Attacks will come in. One would think. Sure it's the greatest tactic. Always good to have an outlet. A little further upfield. Not least to be able to wind down the clock. But there we go. Olga Kimona again. Nice ball in. Should be tapped home. Why? Well can you believe it? I said that Caroline Muller hasn't had a great game either. Did score two in a 4-1. Win against Tenerife in September. But has only had one goal since. And not for two months in the league. And what an open goal here. Right now. See the Champions League goal for a couple here. If you could get them. Maybe they can get them. Camacho their sole goal scorer. To Kimona. Olga Kimona dancing past the first defender. Into the danger area. Flick goal. This is why. Looked for a moment. Like it might just be sneaking inside that post again. Camacho. Got the first one. With the keeper misjudging an attempted clearance. This time the keeper stood helpless. Thankfully for her. And for Depor fans. Had it on just the wrong side of the post. An absolute hammer blow. And possibly a knockout blow. For Real Madrid's title chances. Never been the champions of Spain. Three times runners up. They need two goals now in the last ten. Yasmin. Camacho. Has scored one today. Went close with another. Back to Yasmin. The Brazilian left back. Olga Kimona. Kimona dancing through the defence. Lines up for Casedo. Goes down. But it was a touch on the ball. The referee has given a penalty. Looked like. The defender touched the ball. Lucia cannot believe it. If she gets a booking. She's off as well. Casedo wins the penalty. The only question is. And this. Put things back on track. For Real Madrid. Scored against Atleti recently. And no mistake. For Olga Kimona. Off the bench. To rescue the situation. It's certainly far from job done. But they have. A little over eight minutes. To get that job done. Another controversial penalty given. But Olga. Is on the score sheet again. Countdown on. Six minutes. Plus time added on. To go. At the Di Stefano. Long range shot. Shouldn't be a problem. Keeper had it covered. And let it go. Wisely. Few more seconds. Will be eaten up. Laughing on the floor there. Can't have injured herself there. Diving to miss a ball. Adventurous spirit. Got a bit of slice on the ball. To skim it on target. But. For. A play of her experience. In the middle of that. Really wasting possession there. So there is going to be one more chance. And maybe there shouldn't be. That ball should have been. In the corner quadrant. Awaiting a challenge. From a Real Madrid player. But Caicedo. Skipping through challenges. To keep the title alive here. Keeper Paris. And will smother it. Was that the moment. When the title chance. Disappeared for Real Madrid. The South American. Did excellent work. And got it on target. When the keeper could only. Palm it down. Not getting. A fifth. Premier division goal of the season. At least not yet. Now we are going to be playing. Time added on. At the end of time added on. And the referees are usually. Low to go beyond a few seconds. And doesn't even. Add anything on. For the substitution. So points dropped. For Real Madrid. A hammer blow to them. In their chase. For a first ever title. For Depor. A crucial point. In their bid. To stay away from the drop zone. And now it's all eyes. On Barcelona.
