HIGHLIGHTS | Deportivo Abanca vs. Real Madrid (Liga F 2024-25 Matchday 13)

For Deportivo they are already under new management with Fran Alonso who's from Madrid he's tasked with taking them out of the relegation zone there's still no room for them along with Barcelona at the top as the trap being sprung here for an opener or the chance presented itself and Anthony Adel Castillo is unable to keep her composure one-on-one right along the line benefit of the doubts well it's broken here for Deportivo this could be an opener an interesting opener and it's a massive opportunity wasted well openings like that don't come along every day against Real Madrid and Cabral cannot graciously accept with Lara her obstacle and the Chilean keeps her composure to prod it away of course is on the scene with Leopold who has half a yard and it's pushed behind by Pereira that's must from Carmona I think she might have got a touch it's kept him regardless here's Marant allowed to pick her spots and it comes again into the net oh Deportivo La Coruña and Lara leads the celebrations is there a huge statement in the offing for Fran Alonso in his first home game in charge they've had so little of the ball but they've had the better chances and Lara sticks one away that's named Raquel Garcia back to Teresa Abeyera she fancies at the near looking for a sparkling return to the side after injury you make your own mind up well Madrid have gifted it back to Depor here there's space on the right for Maran whose first touch is good and perhaps caught in a couple of mines with Cabral arriving Real Madrid daring to add a second no it's just half a yard in front of the striker getting the better of Mendes Carmona helping out but it's now for Cabral oh what's a Real Madrid going to do about this they cannot help but entice Depor to catch them out Abeyera oh and even closer this time and it was Ortiz who sent it goalward back to defence from the free kick Feye picking up with Senior Brun Weir angle down now but Real Madrid slicing through the Depor defence in a way that we haven't really seen all afternoon good effort from Caroline Weir Feye the subs have helped Real Madrid and that's the closest they've come almost accidentally onto the post from Senior Brun not sure she even directed it towards goal it might just have hit off her yeah off the inside of the knee and to push for a second Weir giving the opportunity to deliver she seeks Caicedo Carmona now let's see what Real Madrid are made of on the week she's named in the official World XI it's a world day from the Real captain and towards Weir who's knocked down is tidy and Real Madrid have battled their way to a 2-1 lead Deportivo deflated Real Madrid elated in the northwest a third would put it beyond doubt Weir's ball that settles it they've taken their time but Real Madrid have three goals and will have three points all Deportivo La Coruña's hard work for nothing and Maria Mendes gets on the end of Caroline Weir's delivery it was a peach and really narrow victories against Madrid CFF and Levante Badalona in between their matches against Atletico Madrid and Barcelona they needed Naomi Feye and Redondo off the bench to turn that tide in their favor Feye here for Real Madrid needs to get her head up for Weir for Senna-Brun it looks a whole lot more comfortable now 4-1 does not tell the story but it's a happy ending for Real Madrid in the northwest another off the bench to make an impact this time Senna-Brun on the end of it after setting up Redondo's second it all fell to pieces for Deportivo La Coruña as soon as Olga Carmona equalized an admirable showing from them in Fran Alonso's first home game in charge but Real Madrid were faced with a bit of a quandary and in the face of adversity and under pressure they've produced what was necessary a turnaround for the three points
