Hey guys, in this video I'm going to show you
some work-from-home gigs where you spend most of your time
just analyzing some sort of data.
So one place to check for this type of work
is Telus International, also called Telus Digital.
They actually rebranded to Telus Digital recently.
And this is a place that has these work-from-home jobs
where you can take part in an AI community
where basically you can apply without an interview,
without experience, without a degree.
And these are usually part-time jobs.
So if you need something full-time,
this is not the place to look.
But you can also check their other careers at the top
if you are interested in a more traditional job.
If you want something flexible
that doesn't require an interview,
this is the section called the AI community
that you want to be a part of.
So one job they have is literally called
an online data analyst.
And as you can see here, they have many different openings
all around the world here.
And the type of data you're actually going to deal with
on this job is going to be related to geography
and online map services.
So this is a freelance type of position.
I'm just using the United States one as an example.
As you can see, there's no experience required
to apply for this role.
So you will have to pass their basic requirements
and go through a standard assessment process,
which basically is like you have to take an assessment
or some sort of test that they should give you
the study material to pass.
But this is a part-time project
that is supposed to be long-term.
So this isn't one of those where you just do
a certain amount of work and then it's over
and you get paid a lump sum.
This is one of those things that's supposed to be
an hourly pay type of gig that's ongoing,
even though the hours are more like part-time.
So with this job, basic requirements,
full professional proficiency in the English language.
This may vary depending on the country you apply in.
Being a resident in the United States
for the last two consecutive years.
Having a familiarity with what's going on in your country.
Again, this will vary depending on the country,
but you do need to be a resident,
usually the last two consecutive years,
whatever country that is.
Ability to follow guidelines and conduct online research
using search engines, online maps, and website information.
Flexibility to work across different task types
and daily access to a broadband internet connection.
So again, they mentioned the assessment
that you have to take to get the job.
And then also what you're going to be doing.
This is what they tell you right here,
that a day in the life is, in this role,
you will be working on a project aimed at enhancing
the content and quality of digital maps
that are used by millions of people worldwide.
You'll be completing research and evaluation tasks
in a web-based environment,
such as verifying and comparing data
and determining the relevance and accuracy of information.
So they don't tell you upfront
exactly how much a job like this might actually pay you,
but we do have some reviews that we can look at.
As far as what it's like to work here in general,
they do have a 3.6 out of five star rating.
They're also a publicly traded company.
And you have a couple of different estimates here.
You do see one that says data analyst,
16 salaries submitted.
That means 16 people have submitted something here.
$35 to $54 per hour.
And you see another one says just online data analyst,
$28 to $46 per hour with 13 people submitting salaries.
So you can see that the pay according to reviews,
assuming these people are telling the truth,
can be very high.
Now I have seen other jobs at the same company
that pay lower than that,
but they were called something else.
They were a different type of job,
even though a lot of the requirements were similar.
So I would say be prepared to take less than that.
But according to people who have apparently worked here
as some sort of data analyst,
the pay can be pretty decent according to them.
So next we have a company called WeLocalize.
WeLocalize is a pretty similar company
to something like Telus Digital.
They have a lot of localization,
translation, and AI related jobs.
If you look at their actual job listings page,
you'll see a lot of different jobs.
They have a combination of freelance
and independent contractor jobs,
as well as more traditional jobs
like director positions, managers, and stuff like that.
So if you go to remote only,
they have something called the entry level AI data rater.
As you can see, they have many of these available right now.
They have a big need for these jobs.
They also have many other jobs that are kind of similar,
but they call them something else.
But with these jobs here,
you're basically rating some sort of AI generated data.
And to make sure that this data
is actually what it's supposed to be.
So with this one, you're not gonna focus usually
as much on like geography or online maps
like you would on the other job I just showed you.
But this is another entry level type of job.
With this one, basically,
you will do some data annotation
and data rating in the AI field.
And you will engage in a diverse set of tasks
and projects related to data management,
which may vary depending on the project's requirements
and objectives.
You'll follow project specific guidelines
to conduct research,
perform data annotation and data rating tasks,
playing a key role in the training
and improvement of AI models.
You'll partake in training sessions and workshops
to enhance your skills and knowledge
and collaborate with teams
to ensure data accuracy and quality.
Now this one's five to 15 hours weekly,
set your own schedule.
Freelance, this one pays $16 an hour
according to the pay rate on this particular listing.
This can actually vary quite a bit
depending on the country you live in as well.
They also have some other jobs listed that are similar,
but they pay like $25 an hour,
or maybe more, maybe less.
It just depends on the job.
But this particular listing is for the United States
for a data rater, but you are making $16 an hour.
So you're part of the freelance community here.
Occasionally, you can get jobs
that are similar to this one
where you're rating like search engine results,
and you can actually be a W2 part-time employee
if you're in the US.
But with this one, you are freelance in the US
and probably just about any country that you apply in.
So with this, payment rates for future projects
may vary ensuring fair compensation
that reflects your location, industry, and skillset.
So they tell you right there
that the pay rates can vary quite a bit,
and we'll look at reviews here in a second.
But requirements fully proficient in English,
this may vary also depending on the language
or depending on the country.
You also have linguistic competency
and target language equal to the following,
must be located in whatever country you're applying in,
web savvy, preferably some previous experience
in search relevance tasks,
experience with e-commerce searches or websites,
excellent online research skills,
attention to detail,
performing enough research during allocated time
or within short throughputs,
reliable computer system and internet connection,
ability to follow instructions.
You must sign a non-disclosure agreement
and pass training and required quality tests.
So this is basically what they do instead of an interview.
So other than that, that's about it for this job.
As far as what it's like to work here,
they'd be 3.2 out of five star rating.
And then if you look at reviews,
I mean, this can vary.
They have some other jobs that are similar
and these can vary in pay as well.
Like a search quality rater would be a pretty similar job.
You also have, you know, like an ads quality rater.
Maps quality analyst would be kind of similar
to the one that I showed you at TELUS,
but that one is actually not available right now
and hasn't been for a little while.
So you can look at reviews there,
but sometimes they do actually tell you upfront.
Now you also have a company called Appen,
which actually has a section for jobs like these
called CrowdGen.
CrowdGen allows you to complete different tasks
and some of these are ongoing,
some of these are a one-time deal
where basically as soon as you're done with the job,
you don't really keep going.
You don't get paid by the hour,
you get paid by the actual work you complete.
So it's kind of paid to you once you're done in a lump sum.
But they have both usually at this site.
Appen actually has a job listings page
that's very similar to what WeLocalize has.
So if you go to remote only,
you can narrow this down a little bit.
This is another one where they do hire
in many different countries as well.
So if you scroll down here,
sometimes you can find something
where you are rating some sort of data.
So search evaluation would be one.
They also have these social media evaluator type jobs.
So they've had a few of these available recently.
They call them either a social media evaluator
where sometimes you're trying to basically look
for like clickbait and make sure that you are reporting
if somebody is constantly posting clickbait on social media.
They also have some where you are analyzing videos
and you are basically taking information
from whatever the company is looking for from these videos.
You're gonna have to watch literally 750 videos
across three different social media platforms
and you'll have to enter data for each video
into their tool.
So you'll provide feedback and metrics
after reviewing the video.
So this is another form of kind of like data evaluation.
You are evaluating these videos,
you're entering the data that they are trying to collect,
whatever that may be,
they'll give you some sort of criteria
and then you put that feedback into their tool
and it allows them to better create whatever it is,
AI projects or just maybe market research data,
whatever it may be.
So requirements here must be located in the United States.
They do have these in a few other countries as well.
You create anonymous accounts.
So you're not having to use your existing accounts.
You're not gonna be flooding your personal algorithm
with a bunch of stuff that you're not interested in
and start getting suggested a bunch of things
you don't care about.
You're gonna use anonymous stuff
that you'll probably just delete once the project is over.
You'll have access to an iOS or Android device
and commitment to completing the task within the deadline.
So with this one, this is more of a short-term type of gig
where you do the task.
It takes 25 to 30 hours in total
and they pay you $300 to complete the task
and then you move on to whatever else
you wanna do from there.
It's just kind of a one-time deal.
Now as far as the reviews,
they have a 3.7 out of five star rating.
Appen also is a publicly traded company.
They go by the ticker APX.
So they're a pretty big company
and this is just kind of one division of theirs
called CrowdGen.
Now we also have another publicly traded company
called RWS, another very large company that hires worldwide.
And RWS is another one where they are very similar.
They do a lot of translation, localization,
AI-related technology and they have these jobs
where you are evaluating AI models
that are a little bit different
than some of the ones I've shown you.
So you have this data annotator for AI models.
This one is English in the United States.
They do, again, hire in other countries as well
if you search their site.
But work location is remote
and you do have to currently reside
in the country you're applying in part-time,
generally four to six hours per day for several weeks.
Compensation is $14 to $20 per hour.
No prior experience required, no education requirements.
Requirements native in English.
Again, that can vary depending on the country.
Start date ASAP and project duration.
They mentioned a few weeks,
but it's typically four to six weeks to be more specific.
This is better used as a part-time freelance position
that you're not having to constantly rely on.
And they mentioned a lot of like stay-at-home parents
and students, gig workers are the types of people
they usually attract here.
So you'll work across a lot of different tasks
in the artificial intelligence development side of things.
The task can range from reviewing
and scoring existing audio samples
and providing constructive feedback
to speech recording or captioning.
So you are basically giving feedback
with this one on audio samples.
So this has to do with speech recognition,
speech recording, probably some sort of AI assistant,
you think of like a personal assistant AI,
kind of like Alexa, or you think of like Google Home
or something like that.
I would think it's something probably similar to that,
where you are giving some sort of feedback
on either audio samples provided to train the AI
or maybe something the AI is generating.
So data annotation or evaluating of text
or audio or speech samples,
or briefly describing audio and speech sample contents
or rewriting the generated captions.
You could also assign categories
or do some recording as well.
Work from home, part-time, lots of flexibility.
They also pay you via PayPal or your bank account.
Equipment needed for this is very minimal.
Internet access, personal computer,
Windows or Mac OS is doable with this type of job.
And you may have to have some sort of email service.
Other than that, they don't really mention much
in terms of any kind of higher level education,
experience or anything else that might be required.
And again, this tells you upfront
that they pay up to $20 an hour.
And as far as reviews, as you may have seen earlier,
they have a 3.5 out of five star overall rating.
So hopefully this was helpful.
