hey coach welcome back to a new episode
now in today's video I'm going to talk
to you about how to run a tryy out or
evaluation session for your Soccer
Academy or soccer coaching business so a
question I get asked on a regular basis
from coaches is they don't know how to
run an evaluation session they don't
know how to run tryouts for Group
Training and they ask me how can I do
this how can I Market here and how can I
follow through with customers who attend
an evaluation session okay so in this
video I'm going to be answering all
those questions so make sure you stay

okay so I'm going to share with you a
very simple five-step process how I ran
try out sessions when I first started
and how you can also run tryy out
sessions or evaluation sessions into
your business right now the first step
is you have to plan and prepare the try
out so essentially what I think about
when when we talk about planning and
preparing is is setting a day and time
for when these triy out sessions are
going to be held at right now if you do
group
training then the best way to do it is
to H have one of the sessions that you
run as your tryy out event so the way I
did it when when I had when I started
running trial sessions in my business is
I picked a day in time that one of my
sessions ran and I would hold the tryy
out event on the same date and time as
those sessions so essentially what Mrs
Jones would do when she got in contact
with us then I would invite her to one
of our upcoming sessions now the next
one is promotion and
registration all right so knowing how
you're going to Market knowing how
you're going to sell
your try outs to parents that are
looking to join your Academy so when I
work with
coaches we look at right where are the
mo where are most of your leads coming
in from is are they coming in through
paid ads are they coming in through
Facebook are they coming in from
Instagram are they coming in through H
email marketing right what is the main
source that they're coming in that you
can then use to promote your upcoming
tryy out
events okay and what we want to do is we
want to leverage off what is already
working and we want to use that to
Market any upcoming soccer triy outs
that we are looking to run for our
Academy and for our business okay so the
second one is promotion and registration
so if essentially you're using email
marketing for example to communicate
with most of your clients most of your
players most of your parents right we
can use that to promote any upcoming
tryy outs for players that aren't
already members of our
program so essentially you Market the
event have an email blast go out to
everyone on your database and then have
a funnel or a link or a landing page
that parents then register to your trial
through now the third one is organizing
the trial so this kind of comes down to
the planning and preparation but making
sure that we know that we are very
organized for the trial so the way I did
it with my business and with my Academy
was every two weeks I would have a try
out event for any new players that are
looking to join my Academy so it was
very simple um the way I organized it
was I made sure that the parents and
players that registered onto that event
onto that Tri out attended a session
that was already happening and once they
attended then I made
sure that I spoke to the parent I made H
the player feel welcome to the group and
that essentially I analyzed and
evaluated
that player to make sure that they were
a good fit for that group that I was
working with now the next bit is the
evaluation okay so once you've made sure
that you have the set day set time
you've marketed you're organized next
one is what are you going to look for at
that evaluation session so what I would
do if I was you I would have a list of
things that I look for for any players
that are new and they're looking to join
your Academy so you could look at the
technical side of that player the mental
side of that player how well they
interact with you as the coach or with
your assistant coaches and making sure
that they interact well and they could
be a good fit for the rest of you the
players that you work with Okay so just
have a a list of things that you're
going to look for for that player make
sure that they tick all the boxes and
then evaluate that player and provide a
little bit of feedback or a little bit
of a report to the customer or to the
parent after that evaluation session or
that tryy out is done once that event is
done we move on to the fifth thing which
is now following up with parents so the
way I do it with my business is once
that player has attended a tri out 24
hours after I will
then H schedule a call call with Mrs
Jones who attended that Tri out the day
before and I will organize a 5 to 10
minute call with them where we jump on
either Zoom or I get on a phone call and
I make a breakdown and a report and I
give them a report of how I feel that
their child did during that tryy out
session I will then provide them
feedback I will then provide them um a
very detailed analysis from my from a
coaching perspective on where I feel
their child is at where if they were to
join our Academy we can then get them to
and what the commitment is for any new
player that joins the program whether
it's a three-month commitment six-month
commitment yearr round of commitment
okay and then what are the terms and
conditions of the program okay so once
we do the followup you've given Mrs
Jones H the report you've given them a
breakdown of the pro program the
commitment and then what I normally do
is I send through uh the registration
link to that parent so they they can get
registered onto the program now before
we do all of that I make sure that when
we send through the link to the parent
that we're also sending through a
contract that they that both their child
and they have to sign and agree to
before they they even Jo join or pay for
the registration fee to join our Academy
so once that contract that player parent
agreement is signed then they can move
forward
and er pay for uh and join essentially
the academy so if you need more help
